Abstract

Makassar is one of the Metropolitan Cities that cannot be separated from urban problems, one of which is transportation problems. Based on data from Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), it shows that the population growth has increased by 1.33% every year and the activities of community movements have not been accommodated due to the lack of optimal public services in solving these problems. Canal transportation is one of the alternative solutions to reduce congestion problems in the city of Makassar. The Panampu-Jongaya canal has a length of 13.7 km which protects 8 of 14 sub-districts, including: Ujung Tanah, Tallo, Bontoala, Makassar, Rappocini, Mamajang, Tamalate, and Mariso sub-districts. This study aims to see the feasibility, utilization and direction of canal development as an airway transportation route using primary and secondary data. To achieve these goals, the analysis method of canal feasibility, canal depth, canal width, vessel width, barrier-free space and environmental feasibility is used. Thus, the results of the calculation are parameters of the feasibility value of the Panampu and Jongaya canals as air transportation routes in Makassar city.

Abstract

Waste management in Engineering Faculty of Hasanuddin University currently adopts the conventional paradigm. This is not in line with the vision of the campus as an eco-campus. One aspect to realize an eco-campus is the management of environmentally friendly and sustainable waste. The aim of this research is to identify existing conditions of waste management in case studies and to provide guidance on the application of environmentally friendly waste management based 3R concept (green waste). This research was conducted from September 2019 to April 2020 (8 months). Data collection methods were literature studies, observations and questionnaires. The analysis techniques used were literature synthesis, scoring analysis, and comparative analysis. The results showed that waste in case studies was in the moderate category with a percentage of 52.2%. The concept directives that can be applied were increasing the types of sorting and compartmenting into 4 types, collecting garbage using disaggregated facilities, procuring 3R TPS in the campus area, and increasing the participation of the academic community through waste sorting from its source.

Abstract

The Unhas Tamalanrea campus is an educational area which has an area of 220 hectares, one of the problems that exist when the intensity of rain is high enough in the area, namely the occurrence of inundation and flooding on several roads so it is necessary to find causes and solutions to these problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the problem of drainage infrastructure in the Unhas area. This research took place from November 2020 to April 2021. This research is located in the Hasanuddin University Area, Tamalanrea Campus, which is located in Tamalanrea District, Makassar City. Types of secondary data are the number of Unhas Tamalanrea campus communities, the volume of dirty water per person based on the number of communities in Unhas Tamalanrea and PERMEN PU RI No.12/PRT/M/2014 with data collection methods, namely literature, theory, and NSPK studies. The type of primary data is the existing condition of the drainage network at the Unhas Tamalanrea campus, with data collection methods namely surveys or field observations. The data analysis technique used is a comparative analysis, which is to compare the ideal or proper drainage infrastructure with the existing conditions of the research location. Based on the results of the study, there is a drainage infrastructure that is classified as a tertiary drainage channel and then leads to a secondary drainage channel on Polytechnic Street and empties into the Tallo River as a primary drainage channel that is well connected. The quality of the drainage infrastructure is not good, seen from the dimension of the drainage construction that is not wide enough and the drainage network where sedimentation occurs due to lack of maintenance.

Abstract

Spatial Planning plays an important role in making space efficient and providing the facilities and infrastructure needed in an industrial area. Thus, to achieve environmental friendly conditions pollution control can be done by means of environmentally friendly waste management. Important aspects in spatial planning include, location, environmental integration, zoning and land efficiency arrangements, provision of green space, provision of facilities and infrastructure, and environmentally friendly construction. Waste management includes aspects of component supply, conservation, reuse, attention to technology, and minimization of waste in the production process. This study aims to identify spatial planning, identify waste management, and arrange spatial direction directives and environmentally friendly waste management at PT. Kima The analysis used in this research is analysis of aspects including comparative analysis, descriptive analysis, and gap analysis. The results of this study show that there are still some environmentally friendly aspects that are not considered in the spatial planning of PT. KIMA like, does not apply zoning, RTH <10% and so on. In addition, waste management is also not optimal in reducing waste production activities. Therefore, the direction in spatial planning and waste management in PT. KIMA, among others, pays attention to environmentally friendly construction, waste utilization, enforcement of regulations so that the industry carries out waste reduction, and others.

Abstract

The population growth that inhabits urban areas causes widespread outbreaks that trigger the increase in environmental pollution caused by wastewater. According to data obtained from the Slum Improvement Action Plan document of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (2015), in Makassar City 7,684 houses did not have latrines. The profile of the Makassar City slum on the RP2KPKP document shows that 35,827 sewerage systems incorporated with drainage channels. This plan aims to assess the zone of the ideal domestic wastewater infrastructure services based on NSMP, evaluate its application in Makassar City, and formulate planning concepts that are in accordance with the existing problems. This research was conducted by synthesizing the literature review as a reference for determining research variables, criteria, and indicators; evaluating the zone of wastewater infrastructure services by scoring method; reviewing public perceptions using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) method; and choosing the management system that will be applied with the system determination analysis method. The results of this study are in the form of literature synthesis, results of zoning analysis of wastewater infrastructure services in Makassar City in general, and in Makassar District specifically, as well as the direction of planning concepts at that location. This research is expected to be able to bring a healthier image of Makassar wastewater management to support the realization of Healthy City.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is, the magnitude of land use development in terms of function and land use area, explain the magnitude of increased accessibility in terms of the length of the road network, and explain the level of relationship between land use development and increased accessibility in Tamalanrea District, Makassar City. Data on land use development and increased accessibility in this study used data from 2004 to 2014. The data were analyzed using correlation analysis by linking the variables of land use development with increased accessibility. The results showed that the development of land use during the last 10 years generally showed a transition from less productive land use (gardens, ponds, fields, swamps, fields, empty land, rice fields, mangrove, settlements) to more productive land uses (trade and services , industry, offices, education, health, military) with a total land use development of 612 Ha. Increased accessibility over the past 10 years shows an increase in the length of the road network, which is 107 Km. The results of the correlation between land use development variables with increased accessibility amounted to 0.578. This value explains that the greater the development of land use, the higher the accessibility. The connection between the development of land use and increasing accessibility needs to be supported by the availability of good public transportation so that problems such as frequent disruption of transportation systems and other problems can be resolved.

Abstract

The development of industries in Pangkep Regency is increasing, especially in large industries such as those in the area around the mine, namely PT. Semen Tonasa and Marble in Bungoro and Minasate'ne Districts. The location of these large industries is near residential areas without any boundaries or green fiber which limits settlements to industrial locations. This study aims to create a green city concept in the Pangkep Industrial Zone (KIPA) in the provision of public service facilities for the next 20 years. The data used in this study are the number of residents, existing conditions, number and radius of achievement of public, social and economic public service facilities. Data were analyzed in the calculation of projections, where the population projection data in 2034 was used as data to find out the number of public service facility needs in 2034, while spatial analysis was used to see the placement of each facility to serve residential settlements based on the radius of achievement of each of these facilities. The results of this study are, planning for public service facilities with the concept of green city in Pangkep Industrial Estate in 2034. Planning for public service facilities with this concept is to bring the facilities needed by residents to the location of settlements to civilize the community walking or using bicycles to reduce air pollution due to motorized vehicles and plan green spaces of up to 50% of the total area, especially the green fiber of the industrial area, to prevent the direct impact of the industry on residents' settlements.

Abstract

For S1 students of the Regional and Urban Development Study Program (PWK) who are educated and trained as professional and quality spatial planning, knowledge and expertise in planning 10 types of regional and city infrastructure is very important and absolutely essential to master. This competency was originally obtained by 4th semester students in the Infrastructure Planning and Transportation Course. But based on the evaluation of learning that has been done since the last 4 semesters (2011/2012 to 2014/2015), the achievement of these competencies is still far from the expected target. Mainly in understanding the material, less than 5% of participants were able to fully understand the material in 10 types of infrastructure in full, the rest were only able to properly understand material 1 or several types only. This study aims to determine whether the application of the cooperative learning model student team learning type can increase participant understanding, while enhancing 2 other aspects of competency achievement, namely social skills and practical planning skills. In addition, this study also aims to determine whether the application of this learning model can increase the enthusiasm, activeness and satisfaction of participants in the learning process. The method used in this study is a literature review of the cooperative learning model student team learning type, the application of the stages of the model in class, and the observation of the process and assessment of learning outcomes. Along with improvements to the learning method, improvements were made to the main components of learning and the application of its improvement in the class under study.
