Abstract

Aktivitas penambangan pasir dan kerikil menjadi ikut berperan dalam penurunan kualitas air sungai. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisa kualitas air sungai bedasarkan parameter kekeruhan, TSS, suhu, kecerahan, pH, BOD, DO dan COD. Metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode grab sampling pada tiga lokasi sampel yaitu hulu, tengah, hilir. Pengujian kualitas  air dilakukan pada laboratoriun. Tingkat pencemaran air sungai menggunakan metode Indeks Pencemaran dan Kelas pencemaran mengacu pada baku mutu kelas II Peraturan Pemerintah No. 22 tahun 2021. Hasil rata-rata pengukuran suhu yaitu 30,3ºC, rata-rata pengukuran parameter kekeruhan 157,4 NTU, TSS 301,7 mg/L, suhu 30,3ºC, kecerahan11,7, pH 6,5, BOD 9 mg/L DO 6,7 mg/L dan COD 22,3 mg/L,. Tingkat pencemaran menggunakan Indeks Pencemaran pada lokasi tengah pada kondisi tercemar sedang, lokasi hulu dan hilir pada kondisi cemar ringan.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilaksanakan mengambil topik personal hygiene. Personal hygiene saat ini sangat penting diterapkan saat terjadinya pandemi Covid-19. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Al-Qosim, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi Provinsi Jambi. Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Al-Qosim terdiri dari santri pria dan wanita yang terdiri dari berbagai tingkatan sekolah. Terdapat 67 santriwati tingkat SMP yang tinggal di asrama terdiri dari : sebanyak 29 orang Kelas 7, sebanyak 20 orang Kelas 8, dan sebanyak 18 orang Kelas 9. Berdasarkan survei pendahuluan, diketahui hanya terdapat 1 fasilitas pencegahan Covid-19 di Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Al-Qosim. Untuk itu, tim pengabdian memberikan penyuluhan atau sosialisasi terkait pencegahan Covid-19, memberikan masker dan hand sanitizer. Selain itu, tim juga menambahkan fasilitas sanitasi seperti tong cuci tangan dan tempat sampah bagi pondok pesantren. Berdasarkan hasil survei sebelum dan sesudah sosialisasi, diperoleh bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan santriwati tentang jenis ‒ jenis covid‒19 dan personal hygiene. Diharapkan penerapan personal hygiene santriwati meningkat seiring dengan peningkatan pengetahuan mereka tentang personal hygiene dan Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19).

Abstract

The Talang Gulo landfill site in Jambi City does not yet receive clean water services from PDAM, so the community uses dug wells to get water needs. The aim of this research is to analyze the heavy metal content in the well water of residents around the Talang Gulo TPA and determine the effectiveness of using water hyacinth plants (Eichhornia crassipes) in reducing the heavy metal Cadmium (Cd) content in the well water of residents around the Talang Gulo TPA. This research is experimental research and analysis of heavy metal concentrations using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). Based on the research results, the metal concentrations of Cd, Fe, Cr and Cu in residents' well water were respectively 0.054 mg/L; 1.023 mg/L; 0.062 mg/L; and 0.509 mg/L. The level of contamination/pollution of Cd metal is in the highly polluted category, the highest compared to Fe, Cr and Cu metals. After phytoremediation was carried out using water hyacinth plants for 7, 14, 21 and 28 days, the highest level of effectiveness of water hyacinth plants in reducing Cd metal was obtained on the 21st day, namely 93.61%. So, it can be concluded that water hyacinth plants are very effective in reducing the concentration of Cd metal in well water.

Abstract

Hospitals are one of the places that produce waste, one of which is infectious medical waste. Infectious waste is an object that is then categorised as waste after contact with pathogenic organisms that have the potential to transmit disease to humans. Hospital waste management is needed for the comfort and cleanliness of the hospital environment, because it can prevent health problems. The first objective of this study was to evaluate the suitability of infectious medical waste management at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) H. Abdul Manap Jambi City with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2019 concerning Hospital Environmental Health which regulates all forms of activities and health in the hospital environment. The second objective was to determine infectious medical waste management strategies using the SWOT analysis method to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that exist, so that strategies can be determined to optimise the management of infectious medical waste. The results of the research obtained are that there are several stages in the management of infectious medical waste that are not in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2019. Then, based on the results of the SWOT analysis, it is known that the IFAS and EFAS values for infectious medical waste management at RSUD H. Abdul Manap Jambi City are in quadrant I, which explains that the strategy that must be used to optimise medical waste management is the S-O strategy. The S-O strategy is a strategy that relies on strengths and opportunities, so the implementation of this S-O strategy is structured based on the strengths and opportunities possessed by the H. Abdul Manap Hospital Jambi City in carrying out infectious medical waste management.

Abstract

The water quality of rivers can deteriorate due to the large amount of pollutants entering the river. Water quality assessments provide an overview of the actual state of water quality. The WQI can provide valuable information about the water quality of rivers. The calculation of the water quality index is carried out because there is a high probability that other parameters also exceed the quality standards, which are not considered when calculating the water quality index. Therefore, it is very important to assess the water quality of the river. The objective of this study was to assess the water quality of the Asam River, Jambi City. The research methodology involved collecting water samples from the Asam River at locations I (upstream), II (middle) and III (downstream) and testing the samples in the laboratory. Indices were analyzed using WQI for the following variables: temperature, total suspended solids (TSS), pH, BOD, COD, nitrate, total phosphate, dissolved oxygen and fecal coliforms. The method using WQI to determine water quality classification values ​​can serve as a reference for problem solving and evaluation of water pollution management. The results based on the calculations resulted in a WQI value of 96,27 at location II (middle); 70,95 at location I (upstream) and 186,01 at location III (downstream). The results of the study on the water quality of the Asam River are as follows: 1) very low water quality, 2) low quality water and 3) unfit for drinking water, posing a risk to aquatic life and human health.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Masyarakat di sekitar Tempat Pemrosesan Akhir (TPA) Talang Gulo Kota Jambi masih menggunakan sumur gali sebagai sumber air bersih. Semakin dekat jarak sumur dengan Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) maka kualitas air sumur gali akan semakin menurun. Hal ini, disebabkan oleh resapan air lindi yang mengandung berbagai kontaminan berbahaya dan logam berat seperti Cd ke dalam tanah. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis efisiensi penyerapan logam Cd oleh eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes) dengan menggunakan variasi jumlah tanaman yang berbeda. Penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yaitu dengan 3 perlakuan dan 2 kali ulangan. Hasil analisis awal, menunjukkan salah satu air sumur gali masyarakat yang berjarak 70 m dari area open dumping TPA Talang Gulo Kota Jambi memiliki kadar logam kadmium sebesar 0.092 mg.L-1, di mana kandungan kadmium pada air sumur gali ini telah melebihi baku mutu Permenkes No. 20 tahun 2023 yaitu sebesar 0.003 mg.L-1. Adapun perlakuan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu 5, 7 dan 9 tanaman dengan waktu kontak 5, 10 dan 15 hari. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa efisiensi eceng gondok dalam menurunkan logam kedmium pada air sumur gali sebesar 92.39% dengan menggunakan variasi 9 tanaman dalam waktu kontak 15 hari.Kata kunci : eceng gondok, fitoremediasi, kadmium, sumur gali  ABSTRACT The community around the Talang Gulo Final Disposal Site (TPA) in Jambi City still uses dug wells as a source of clean water. The closer the dug well is to the disposal site, the lower the water quality tends to be. This is due to the infiltration of leachate containing various harmful contaminants and heavy metals, such as cadmium (Cd), into the soil. The aim of this study is to analyze the efficiency of cadmium absorption by water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) using different plant quantities. This research is an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 2 repetitions. Initial analysis shows that one of the dug wells, located 70 meters from the open dumping area of the Talang Gulo TPA, has a cadmium concentration of 0.092 mg.L-1, which exceeds the water quality standard set by the Ministry of Health Regulation No. 20 of 2023, which is 0.003 mg.L-1. The treatments in this study include 5, 7, and 9 plants with contact times of 5, 10, and 15 days. The results of this study show that the efficiency of water hyacinth in reducing cadmium levels in dug well water was 92.39% with 9 plants and a contact time of 15 days. Keywords : cadmium, dug well, phytoremediation, water hyacinth

Abstract

The background of this research is the high level of heavy metal contamination of lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) at the former Final Disposal Site (TPA) Talang Gulo, Jambi Province. Preliminary results showed that the concentration of Pb reached 615 mg/kg and Cd was 5.145 mg/kg, exceeding the safe limits set by the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry Regulation Number 2 of 2023 concerning Soil Quality Standards, which are 300 mg/kg for Pb and 3 mg/kg for Cd. Sansevieria trifasciata laurentii can be used as a phytoremediation agent to address this contamination issue. The objectives of this study were (a) to analyze changes in the concentrations of heavy metals Pb and Cd before and after the phytoremediation process, and (b) to evaluate the effectiveness of Sansevieria trifasciata laurentii in reducing heavy metal concentrations in soil contaminated by landfill leachate at TPA Lama Talang Gulo, Jambi. The results showed that over 8 weeks of observation, Sansevieria trifasciata laurentii effectively reduced the concentrations of Pb and Cd. The plant was able to absorb Pb by 61-91% and Cd by 52-83%. Based on the results of the T-test, a significance value of > 0.05 (0.080) was obtained, with a t_calculated value of 7.867 and a t_table value of 63.1875. Since the t_calculated value was greater than the t_table value, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted, indicating a significant difference in heavy metal reduction before and after phytoremediation. This research confirms that Sansevieria trifasciata laurentii is effective in reducing the concentration of Pb and Cd in the soil at TPA Lama Talang Gulo, Jambi. This plant has the ability to accumulate heavy metals, making it a potential natural solution for remediating contaminated soil.

Abstract

Timbulan sampah yang dihasilkan oleh institusi pendidikan seperti sekolah, pondok pesantren dan kampus kerap tidak terlihat secara kasat mata namun sebagai lingkungan dengan jumlah siswa yang besar berpotensi menghasilkan sampah yang cukup banyak setiap harinya. Jika tidak dikelola dengan baik, sampah ini dapat menimbulkan pencemaran dan masalah kesehatan. Salah satu solusi yang dapat diterapkan adalah pengolahan sampah terutama sampah berjenis organik menggunakan larva lalat tentara hitam. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan sosialisasi kepada santri pondok pesantren Nurul Iman tentang biokonversi sampah organik berbasis BSF sebagai alternatif pengelolaan yang ramah lingkungan dan bernilai ekonomi. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemaparan materi melalui presentasi dan diskusi interaktif yang menjelaskan manfaat, proses kerja larva dalam mengurai sampah, serta dampaknya terhadap lingkungan. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pengisian kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan, yang dianalisis secara deskriptif dan menggunakan perhitungan gain score untuk menilai efektivitas intervensi edukatif. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan pada sebagian besar indikator, terutama pada pemahaman tentang manfaat ekonomi dan ekologis biokonversi. Meskipun sesi praktik tidak dapat dilaksanakan karena kendala teknis, peserta menunjukkan minat tinggi dan peningkatan pemahaman yang signifikan pada aspek konseptual. Kegiatan ini dinilai efektif dalam membentuk kesadaran ekologis awal serta membuka peluang untuk pengembangan program lanjutan berbasis pesantren yang berorientasi pada pengelolaan limbah berkelanjutan dan pemberdayaan ekonomi lingkungan.

Abstract

Household organic solid waste is a type of waste that comes from leftover food, vegetables, fruit, dry leaves and other organic materials resulting from daily activities. Household organic waste can cause environmental problems if not managed properly. Eco-enzymes are a mixture of enzymes made from organic materials such as food waste, fruits, vegetables and water. Eco-enzymes can be used as household cleaners, organic fertilizers, or even as medicines. Therefore, this service activity aims to introduce the processing of domestic organic waste into eco-enzymes. The method used is an experiment in making eco-enzymes as well as a scientific approach to what mothers need to solve household waste problems. Eco-enzymes use the principle of a fermentation process over a period of 3-6 months. The service was carried out in the women's yasinan group consisting of around 47 members in Karya Maju District. Based on a preliminary survey, it was discovered that the domestic organic solid waste there had never been processed and was simply thrown away. For this reason, the service team provides counseling and workshops regarding the management of organic solid waste into multi-purpose eco-enzymes. Apart from that, the team also provided equipment to make eco-enzymes. Based on survey results before and after socialization, there was an increase in residents' knowledge and desire to process organic waste into eco-enzymes

Abstract

Tourism activities are a necessity for individuals and communities because they provide a refreshing impact, both physically and spiritually. One tourism activity that can bring humans closer to nature and the Creator is ecotourism or ecological tourism. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing public perceptions and preferences in Jambi Province towards Ecological Tourism during the Covid-19 Pandemic, spanning the initial pandemic period, PSBB, PPKM, New Normal, and post-pandemic. This research method uses a quantitative approach with primary data from a survey in the form of questionnaires distributed to the community, which data analysis uses SEM-PLS assisted by Smart-PLS software. The results of this study suggest that based on the SEM-PLS path diagram, the path coefficients indicate that all aspects of visitor assessments of ecological tourism destinations in Jambi Province need to be improved, especially related to tourist destination cleanliness, ecological tourism accessibility, tourist attractions, and infrastructure conditions. Therefore, good cooperation between the community and the government is highly recommended in the management of ecological tourism areas in Jambi Province.
