Abstract

Stunting describes the condition of failure to thrive in toddlers. Maternal nutritional status during pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and lactation is a critical period for child growth and development. In addition to maternal factors, parenting plays a very important role in the nutritional status of children. This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal factors and child care patterns with stunting. Research Design: The research design used a cross sectional method with a sample size of 106 children under five. Collecting data through interviews using a questionnaire with a sampling technique of systematic random sampling. The variables studied were stunting, maternal nutritional status, SEZ, Hb levels, feeding practices, hygiene habits and child care. Results: Stunting was found to be 43.4%, maternal nutritional status (BMI) was thin by 38.7%, anemia during pregnancy 25.5%, KEK 17%, poor feeding practices by 54%, poor hygiene habits 62, 3% and child caregivers who are not biological mothers 66%. Variables related to stunting were hygiene habits (AOR=3.342;95%CI=1.266-8.825;p=0.01) and KEK variables (AOR=4.293;95%CI=1.054-17.486;p=0.04). Variables that were not associated with stunting were maternal nutritional status (BMI), Hb levels, feeding practices and child care. Conclusion: Chronic energy deficiency during pregnancy and hygiene habits were found to be associated with stunting. Abstract

Abstract

Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a significant health problem in Indonesia, especially in endemic areas. Even though public knowledge about dengue fever is adequate, the implementation of preventive behavior such as 3M Plus is still low. Environmental factors such as rainfall, temperature, humidity and population density also play a role in increasing the risk of spreading this disease. Objective: This study aims to review literature related to environmental factors and community preventive behavior that contribute to the incidence of dengue fever, as well as provide recommendations for interventions for more effective prevention. Method: This research uses a literature review study method by collecting data from scientific journals available on Google Scholar, PubMed, and Elsevier. This study identifies the relationship between environmental factors and 3M Plus behavior on the incidence of dengue fever, and analyzes relevant findings to develop better prevention strategies. Results: There is a significant relationship between environmental factors such as rainfall, temperature, humidity and population density with an increase in the incidence of dengue fever. Even though the public knows the dangers of dengue fever, many still rely on fogging and do not apply 3M Plus consistently. Behavioral factors such as lack of larval inspection and environmental cleanliness also have a big influence.

Abstract

Background:     Introduction: Stunting has a negative impact in the short term, namely causing impaired brain development, intelligence, impaired physical growth, and metabolic disorders in the body. The long-term adverse effects that can be caused are decreased cognitive abilities and learning achievement, decreased immunity so that it is easy to get sick, and a high risk of degenerative diseases in old age. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge and maternal attitudes towards the Accuracy of Providing Complementary Feeding. Method: The sampling technique used in this study was accidental sampling. The subjects of the study were 44 mothers who had babies who came for check-ups at the health center. Bivariable analysis with the Chi Square test. Results: Showed that 35.7% of mothers did not provide appropriate complementary feeding. 18% had a low level of knowledge about the accuracy of providing complementary feeding, 16% of respondents had a low attitude about the accuracy of providing complementary feeding. There is a positive relationship between maternal knowledge (p = 0.001) and maternal attitudes (p = 0.001) with the accuracy of providing complementary feeding at the Kambaniru Health Center, East Sumba Regency.

Abstract

Background:  Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a disease that works by damaging the body's immune system so that patients are susceptible to opportunistic infectious diseases when the number of CD4 (white blood cells or lymphhocyte/T-cells) decreases or the viral load level increases. Objective: To identify challenges in achieving voluntary counseling and testing services for people with human immunodeficiency virus.  Methods: literature review, literature search process using Google Scholar and Pubmed databases with the keyword 'Challengesi in Reaching Voluntary Counseling and Testing Services for Human Immunodeficiency Virus Sufferers'. The inclusion criteria are journals published in the 2021-2024 range, journal types of articles with quantitative, qualitative, empirical research methods, pdf full text journals, articles taken are national and international journal articles. Results: The challenges in achieving voluntary counseling and testing services for people with HIV are influenced by several things, including lack of cost, limited provision of logistics for examinations, stigma and discrimination both from patients and the community, including health workers, knowledge about HIV in at-risk people as well as the community, and limitedservice facilities and health human resources that are still limited both in terms of number and knowledge of VCT.
