Abstract

Fase starter broiler yaitu fase yang memerlukan perhatian intensif sehingga diperlukan nutrien yang cukup untuk menunjang pertumbuhan. Antibiotik kimia telah dilarang karena residu terhadap kualitas daging yang dihasilkan. Daun mengkudu mengandung senyawa aktif askorbin dan flavonoid yang diketahui memiliki aktivitas antimikroba dan diharapkan dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan suplemen ternak alami pengganti antibiotik untuk menunjang performa ayam broiler. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun mengkudu untuk meningkatkan performa broiler fase starter dan mengetahui dosis yang tepat untuk performa yang paling baik. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan perbedaan konsentrasi ekstrak daun mengkudu (0, 5, 7,5, 10%) dan 5 ulangan dengan 5 ekor ayam setiap satuan percobaan. Peubah yang diamati meliputi konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan (PBB) dan Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR). Penimbangan dilakukan pada umur 3,7,10,dan 15 hari. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan analisis ragam (ANOVA) dan perbedaan nyata antar perlakuan dianalisis lanjut dengan uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun mengkudu sampai dengan 10% tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi ransum ayam broiler fase starter. Rata-rata konsumsi pakan pada penelitian ini yaitu 559,33 - 606,47 gram/ekor, PBB 472,61 - 511,45 gram/ekor dan konversi ransum 1,27 - 1,34. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak daun mengkudu sampai 10% dalam air minum, tidak mempengaruhi performa broiler fase starter. ABSTRACT The starter phase of the broiler requires an intensive attention phase so that it requires sufficient nutrients to support optimal growth. Chemicals' antibiotics are prohibited due to the residue on the quality of the meat produced. Morinda citrifolia leaves contain ascorbic and flavonoids that are known to have antimicrobial activity and are expected to be used as natural livestock supplement ingredients to replace antibiotics to support the performance of broiler chickens, especially in the starter phase. This study aims to determine the effect of giving Morinda citrifolia leaf extract to improve the performance of the broiler in the starter phase and determine the right dose for the best performance. The experimental design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments of different concentrations of Morinda citrifolia leaf extract (0, 5, 7,5, 10%) and 5 replications per treatment. Measurement of body weight at 3,7,10, and 15 days of age. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the significant differences between treatments were analyzed by the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that Morinda citrifolia leaf extract up to 10% had no significant effect on feed consumption, body weight gain, and ration conversion of broiler in the starter phase. The average feed consumption in this study was 559.33 - 606.47 gram/head, PBB 472.61 - 511.45 gram/head, and ration conversion 1.27 - 1.34. This study can be concluded that adding Morinda citrifolia leaf extract up to 10% in drinking water didn’t impact to performance broiler starter phase.

Abstract

This research was designed to analyze the relationship between egg weight and the external quality of Pengging duck eggs. The method used in the research was quantitative observational.  Samples of Pengging Duck eggs were taken from the Banyubiru Satker Center, Semarang Regency, totaling 250 eggs. The variables measured include egg weight, egg length and egg width, egg length and width circumference, egg volume, egg specific gravity, egg index and egg circumference index. The analysis used was regression analysis with egg weight as the dependent variable (Y) and external egg quality (egg length, etc.) as the independent variable (X). Relationship models obtained for egg length-egg weight (Y=13.872x-11.994), egg width-egg weight (Y=21.392x-31.395), egg circumference index-egg weight (Y=1.9624x+33.523), width circumference-egg weight (Y=3.8527x+8.4576), egg specific gravity-egg weight (Y=-8.931x+76.308), egg index-egg weight (Y=-8.166x+72.718), egg circumference index-egg weight (Y=-7.339x+72.69). It could be concluded that the length, width, length perimeter, width perimeter, and specific gravity of the eggs were found to be highly related to egg weight of Pengging Duck.

Abstract

Kelurahan Potrobangsan, yang berada di Kecamatan Magelang Utara, Kota Magelang, memiliki banyak potensi seni dan budaya yang luar biasa, tetapi banyak hambatan yang menghalanginya untuk berkembang. Tujuan dari program pengabdian masyarakat adalah untuk mengeksplorasi, memperluas, dan meningkatkan potensi seni lokal di wilayah tersebut. Program ini berlangsung selama enam bulan dan terdiri dari empat tahapan utama: identifikasi potensi seni, pelatihan dan pendidikan, pengembangan kapasitas komunitas, dan evaluasi program. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan bahwa berbagai jenis seni, seperti seni tari, musik tradisional, dan seni rupa, membutuhkan bantuan untuk meningkatkan nilai jualnya. Pelatihan meningkatkan keterampilan seni dan pengetahuan manajemen dan pemasaran. Sebenarnya, program ini meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat melalui sektor seni kreatif, yang menciptakan nilai bagi produk seni. Melalui kegiatan ini, penggiat seni diharapkan dapat menjadi teladan dalam melestarikan budaya lokal dan memanfaatkan keterampilan mereka sebagai peluang ekonomi yang lebih baik.

Abstract

Fermentasi menggunakan kulit kacang dan probiotik berupa sinbiotik bisa dimanfaatkan untuk menurunkan amonia ekskreta ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan sinbiotik kombinasi ekstrak kulit kacang tanah dengan bakteri Bacillus subtilis dan bakteri Lactobacillus bulgaricus terhadap penurunan kadar amonia, pH, serta kadar air ekskreta broiler. Penelitian serta pengujian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Tidar. Penelitian dilaksanakan secara eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), terdiri dari empat perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Perlakuan pada penelitian yaitu: P0: 50 gr ekskreta tanpa pemberian campuran prebiotik+probiotik, P1: 50 gr ekskreta ayam pedaging + 6% prebiotik+probiotik, P2: 50 gr ekskreta ayam pedaging + 12% prebiotik+probiotik, P3: 50 gr ekskreta ayam pedaging + 18% prebiotik+probiotik. Ekskreta yang telah disiram sinbiotik dan pengamatan dilakukan pada 24 jam fermentasi. Variabel yang diamati yaitu nilai pH, kadar amonia, dan kadar air pada ekskreta ayam pedaging. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji DMRT jika terdapat hasil yang berbeda. Hasil analisis memperlihatkan bahwa penambahan sinbiotik kombinasi ekstrak kulit kacang tanah dengan bakteri Bacillus subtilis dan Lactobacillus bulgaricus berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kadar amonia dengan nilai rerata pada perlakuan 1,59 dan kontrol 2,75 ppm dan kadar air dengan nilai yang paling tinggi yaitu 80,51% dan terendah 79,21%. Namun, tidak terdapat perbedaan (P>0,05) pada nilai pH yaitu bernilai 6,58 hingga 7,01. Disimpulkan bahwa penambahan sinbiotik campuran ekstrak kulit kacang kacang tanah dengan bakteri Bacillus subtilis dan Lactobacillus bulgaricus belum mampu menurunkan pH ekskreta ayam pedaging, tetapi berhasil menurunkan level amonia dan kadar air ekskreta broiler.

Abstract

Produksi ternak di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Pelaku usaha peternakan di Indonesia didominasi oleh peternak lokal yang masih menggunakan sistem beternak tradisional. Pakan yang diberikan pada ternak tidak melalui tahap formulasi sehingga kualitas dan kandungan zat makanannya tidak diketahui. Keterbatasan pengetahuan menjadi hambatan utama bagi peternak untuk melakukan formulasi pakan. Perlu dilakukan pelatihan formulasi pakan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keahlian peternak dalam membuat formula pakan yang baik. Metode pelaksanaan pada pengabdian ini meliputi pre-test, ceramah, pelatihan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan secara daring dengan melibatkan empat dosen Universitas Tidar dan satu orang dosen Universitas Padjadjaran. Peserta yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini sebanyak 62 orang masyarakat peternak terdiri dari pelaku usaha ternak, kelompok tani ternak, mahasiswa, hingga dosen. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi sebelum dan sesudah dilaksanakannya pelatihan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa peserta memiliki nilai rata-rata 72,2 pada post-test, selain itu adanya nilai yang besar pada pengetahuan peserta mengenai pengetahuan bahan pakan yaitu 88,00. Peningkatan sebanyak 16,32% pada pengalaman peserta dalam membuat formulasi pakan, peningkatan sebesar 42,14% pada kemampuan peserta dalam membuat formulasi pakan menggunakan aplikasi Winfeed, dan sebanyak 71,42% peserta mempu mengerjakan tugas membuat formulasi pakan dengan benar. Penyelenggaraan pelatihan dinilai memuaskan dengan nilai rata-rata 4,16 dari skala 1-5.

Abstract

The use of additives in making silage can increase the microbial population and silage quality. One of the prebiotics that can be used is inulin. This study aims to determine the effect and percentage of the best use of inulin probiotics in making red napier grass silage on the microbiological quality of silage. This research was carried out at Kledung Research Park and the Integrated Laboratory of Tidar University. The study method used a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with four treatments (P0 = Red Napier + 0% inulin), (P1 = Red Napier + 1% Inulin), (P2 = Red Napier + 3% Inulin), (P3 = Red Napier + 5% Inulin) each treatment was repeated 5 times. The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA and continued using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT), calculated using IBM SPSS 26 tools. The results of this study showed that the addition of inulin had a real effect (P<0.05) on lactic acid levels and total lactic acid bacteria but no effect (P>0.05) on total bacteria. This study concludes that adding inulin positively impacts lactic acid levels and total lactic acid bacteria silage Red Napier.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan vitamin B6 yang berbeda pada pakan terhadap kinerja ayam BSM 1. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 4 minggu dengan menggunakan 100 ekor ayam BSM 1 betina. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Penelitian ini terdiri dari 4 perlakuan 5 ulangan (P0: Ransum basal tanpa vitamin B6; P1: ransum basal + 3 mg vitamin B6/kg pakan; P2: ransum basal + 6 mg vitamin B6/kg pakan; dan P3: ransum basal + 9 mg vitamin B6/kg pakan) serta setiap ulangan menggunakan 5 ekor ayam BSM 1 betina. Variabel yang diamati meliputi: konsumsi ransum, konsumsi energi, konsumsi protein, produksi telur harian, konversi ransum, rasio efisiensi energi, rasio dan efisiensi protein. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan penambahan dosis vitamin B6 tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, konsumsi energi, konsumsi protein produksi telur harian, dan konversi ransum, tetapi berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap rasio efisiensi energi, dan efisiensi protein. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan vitamin B6 sampai dosis 9 mg/kg pakan memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap rasio efisiensi energi, dan rasio efisiensi protein pada ayam BSM 1 pada umur 28-32 minggu.

Abstract

Improving the body immune of male magelang ducks can be done through the administration of a combination of phytobiotics and probiotics as a substitute for antibiotics. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the combination of phytobiotics from jengkol peel extract with the probiotic Bacillus cereus on the immune profile of male magelang ducks. This research was carried out for 8 weeks of rearing which was carried out in the poultry house of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tidar University and analysis of blood profile was carried out at the Laboratory of the Prof. Soeparwi Veterinary Hospital, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Gadjah Mada University. The research used 100 male Magelang ducks DOD grouped into 5 treatments, namely (P0) control water without the addition of probiotics and extracts; (P1) water with the addition of 0.5% probiotics and 0.2% jengkol peel extract; (P2) water with the addition of 1% probiotics and 0.4% jengkol peel extract; (P3) water with the addition of 1.5% probiotics and 0.6% jengkol peel extract; (P4) water with the addition of 2% probiotics and 0.8% jengkol peel extract. The data was analyzed using SPSS Version 23 software using a completely randomized design (CRD) with a unidirectional pattern, then continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the combination of phytobiotics from jengkol peel extract with Bacillus cereus no significant effect (P>0.05) on the hemoglobin, eritrocyte count and leukocyte level of male Magelang ducks. The conclusion of this study was the combination of phytobiotics from jengkol peel extract with probiotic Bacillus cereus did not affect the hemoglobin, eritrocytes count and leukocytes level in male Magelang ducks.

Abstract

The research aimed to examine (1) the direct effect of entrepreneurial skill, market orientation, sales orientation, and networking on entrepreneurial competence; (2) the direct effect of entrepreneurial competence on livestock farmers’ performance; and (3) the indirect effect of entrepreneurial skill, market orientation, sales orientation, and networking on livestock farmers’ performance through entrepreneurial competence. Samples were 399 livestock farmers in Magelang Regency. The independent variables were entrepreneurial skills, market orientation, sales orientation, and networking. Meanwhile, the dependent variable was livestock farmers’ performance, and the mediating variable was entrepreneurial competence. Variable measurement used 7-Likert scale questionaries. Then, data analysis used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Based on data analysis, the research finds that entrepreneurial skill, market orientation, sales orientation, and networking improve entrepreneurial competence. In addition, entrepreneurial competence increases livestock farmers’ performance, Then, entrepreneurial skill, market orientation, sales orientation, and networking improve livestock farmers’ performance through entrepreneurial competence. The research contributes to giving new evidence of entrepreneurial competence in the context of animal husbandry. The research also contributes to capturing how the implementation of the Resources-Based View (RBV) concept affects the achievement of livestock farmers’ performance. The research has some implications. First, livestock farmers increase entrepreneurial competence by building entrepreneurial skills, market orientation, sales orientation, and networking to improve performance. Second, regulators can formulate regulations or programs that can help livestock farmers to grow their businesses since the business is run individually, such as human resource development or business establishment programs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the potential of inulin extraction waste fermentation as a feed additive based on the content of lactic acid, dry matter,  pH, and Fleigh points. This research was conducted from March to June 2022 at the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Laboratory, Tidar University. The experimental design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments (fermentation of inulin extraction waste: T1 Dioscorea alata (uwi), T2: ganyong (Dioscorea alata discolor), T3: gadung(Dioscorea hispida), and T4: umbi ungu (Ipomoea batatas). Each treatment was replicated 5 times. The variables observed were lactic acid content, dry matter, crude protein, pH, and Fleigh points of inulin extraction waste fermentation. The Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), followed by Duncan's multiple range test if the results were significantly different. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 21. Inulin extract wastes from local tubers significantly affected (p<0.05) lactic acid content, pH, and Fleigh points, but not significantly affected (p>0.05) the dry matter content. T3 and T4 produced the highest lactic acid content, Fleigh points, and the lowest pH value.
