Abstract

PT XYZ is a heavy equipment rental company and mining contractor. One of its working areas is an open coal mine in South Kalimantan, obtained a contract to lease heavy equipment in the form of 14 (fourteen) Caterpillar 773E Off Highway Trucks. Mine owner have availability targets and application of penalties, PT XYZ must implement appropriate maintenance and maintenance strategies. In 2018, the OHT total down time is 34,061.30 hours. For 15,272.00 hours (44.8%) downtime is caused by major component breakdown. The high cost of repairing components makes it difficult for company management to determine the decision to repair. To meet the heavy equipment availability target of mine owner, PT XYZ must implement appropriate maintenance and maintenance strategies. High off Highway Truck (OHT) availability can be achieved by minimizing downtime. The purpose of this research is to determine a general overhaul (GOH) time interval that has the greatest effect on the availability of Caterpillar 773E Off Highway Truck. In order for minimization of downtime to have a significant impact, it must be determined which critical components have the most influence on costs. Next step is determined the GOH interval by considering the smallest cost impact. The results of research show Caterpillar 773E OHT critical components are engine, transmission, final drive and torque converter. The GOH interval is 17,992.81 hours

Abstract

In order to support offshore aquaculture in Indonesia, a floating net cage is being developed by Pusat Studi Kelautan ITS and will be placed in Sidoasri Village, Malang, Indonesia. The use of floating net cage will shift the habits of the fishermen. It will be very for the effort of developing the floating net cage if it will be rejected by the fishermen. Therefore, it is important to measure the factors influencing fishermen intention as a potential user to use the cage. In this paper, Technology Acceptance Model is integrated with Theory of Reasoned Action to identify the factors. The findings of this study, obtained that fishermen intentions to use floating net cage is influenced by their attitude and subjective norm, while perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have a role to affect the intentions indirectly

Abstract

Dalam menjalankan proses produksi di suatu industri manufaktur, terdapat beberapa jenis mesin yang digunakan, mulai dari mesin produksi inti hingga mesin penunjang seperti mesin untuk material handling, salah satunya adalah forklift. Forklift digunakan sebagai alat bantu dalam proses material handling. Apabila forklift bermasalah, kegiatan material handling akan terganggu. Forklift milik memiliki availabilitas yang paling rendah dibandingkan mesin lainnya, bahkan sering tidak mencapai batas minimal availabilitas yang telah ditetapkan. Ditemukan permasalahan bahwa forklift mengalami kerusakan dengan frekuensi cukup tinggi serta mengalamki idle meski telah selesai dilakukan pemeliharaan. Alasannya adalah karena user lebih memilih forklift yang disewa kepada pihak ketiga. Permasalahan ini dapat diselesaikan dengan konsep penentuan optimal maintenance strategy, salah satu metodenya adalah Reliability Centered Asset Maintenane II (RCM II), yaitu dengan menentukan strategi pemeliharaan yang optimal untuk diketahui kondisi forklift. Hasilnya adalah rekomendasi bagi perusahaan dalam melakukan perawatn terhadap forklift.

Abstract

PT. X merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak pada bidang manufaktur sarung tangan rajut. Sarung tangan rajut merupakan sarung tangan yang digunakan sebagai Alat Pelindung Diri (APD) pada industri perkebunan, perikanan maupun kegiatan konstruksi. Dalam proses produksinya, masih ditemukan berbagai indikasi waste yang menyebabkan menurunnya efisensi dan efektivitas proses produksi. Salah satu permasalahan terbesar adalah defect dengan presentase defect BS diatas 4.6% dan defect afkir sebesar 1.813%. Selain itu, ditemukan berbagai indikasi waste terkait waste waiting, transportation dan berbagai waste lainnya. Adanya berbagai waste tersebut menyebabkan munculnya potential profit loss yang hilang bagi perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeliminasi waste pada proses produksi sarung tangan di PT. X dengan implementasi metode lean manufacturing. Langkah awal penelitian dilakukan dengan identifikasi proses produksi dan waste menggunakan Operation Process Chart (OPC), Value Stream Mapping (VSM) dan Waste Assessment Model (WAM). Berdasarkan WAM, diketahui 3 waste kritis yaitu defect, waiting dan transportation. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis akar masalah dengan Root Cause Analysis (RCA) 5Why’s dan mencari nilai risiko kegagalan menggunakan Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). FMEA dikategorikan kritis ketika nilai RPN ≥240 untuk kemudian dilakukan analisis perancangan rekomendasi perbaikan. Terdapat 3 alternatif perbaikan yaitu pengurangan defect proses produksi, perbaikan sistem serta perbaikan sistem manajemen dan produksi. Pemilihan alternatif dilakukan dengan menggunakan value management. Berdasarkan value management, didapatkan kombinasi alternatif perbaikan terbaik adalah alternatif 1 dan 2.

Abstract

The heavy equipment maintenance system cannot be separated from the problems of Human Resources (HR). Some literature has defined HR as a success factor for the successful implementation of maintenance systems. The Asset Maintenance Division as an organization which responsible to maintain the Company's assets routinely, including the Doosan S500’s 50-tonne class excavator. But in fact, excavators that are currently still operated often breakdown and its physical condition are in a bad condition. From the observation of 9 (nine) units excavators, the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) target was still not achieved, especially on the items Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF). Mechanic’s technical competencies needed in achieving KPI are divided into four sub competencies: Maintenance, Repair & trouble shooting, Remove & install and Overhaul. This study aims: analyzing mechanic’s competencies against company‘s standards, analyzing the influence of mechanic’s competencies on achieving KPI targets, providing recommendations on the influence of mechanic’s competencies for achieving KPI targets. The primary data used in the study were obtained through interviews and the questionnaires as well as secondary data obtained from various literatures, research results and supporting books. The method of processing and analyzing data uses the method of gap analysis and the Non-Parametric Statistics (Multiple Regression). The results of the gap analysis are known that there are still gaps in the actual competence of employees with competency standards set by the company. Factors that cause the competency gap are generally known because of a lack of understanding of the basic skills  required, mastery of work techniques and consistency in applying work quality standards. Recommendations from this study as an effort to improve the skills and knowledge of mechanics to improve work effectiveness that affects MTTR and the quality of work that affects MTBF so that the KPI are consistently achieved

Abstract

In this study the equipment lease contract, where two players, the lessor, lease the equipment to the user (lessee), if the equipment fails to exceed the tolerance agreed by both players during the lease period and needs to be repaired, it is considered detrimental to the lessee, because it results in a loss of potential revenue will be received from leased equipment. Therefore, the total income of the lessor in the lease contract may incur penalty costs as a consequence of the lessor for failure to maintain maintenance performance. We use Nash's game theory formulation to find a win-win solution between players where it is an equilibrium point for lessor and lessee. The results of this study are, when Lessee decides to maximize profits, which is the total potential profit gained by the lessee using leased equipment, and the lessor also decides to maximize their profits derived from the leased equipment by considering penalty cost as a cooperatively determined variable. The selected scenario is the percentage of the minimum penalty cost with the maximum level of equipment used.

Abstract

Raw materials are a significant requirement in the production process for manufacturing companies. In meeting the needs of raw materials for the production process, most manufacturing firms rely on suppliers. Supplier selection is an essential part of manufacturing companies. From several supplier selection criteria, quality is one of the fundamental standards and is used in supplier assessment. Selecting suppliers based on the quality of their products will have a positive impact on manufacturing companies, such as increased profits through reduced operational costs and increased market share. The problem faced is the lack of accuracy in choosing qualified suppliers. In this study will compare two suppliers at manufacturing companies and pick one that has a higher capability value. Supplier selection is made by using multiple characteristic capability indexes. The Supplier will be selected by comparing the ratio of two suppliers. Numerical calculations are performed on leather suppliers in shoe companies based on bursting quality, tear strength, tensile strength and elongation. The result of the calculation can be seen that supplier B is chosen as a better supplier. Characteristics of quality will affect the production process and application of shoes.

Abstract

Desa Sanankerto di Malang memiliki hutan bambu yang luas. Potensi alam ini dipergunakan olehmasyarakat sekitar untuk memproduksi produk berbahan dasar bambu, salah satunya adalah produk tersebutadalah tusuk sate. Salah satu usaha kecil yang menghasilkan tusuk sate telah beroperasi selama kurang lebih7 tahun, namun selama ini mengalami kesulitan untuk memenuhi pesanan dari pelanggan. Hal inidisebabkan karena terdapat aktivitas-aktivitas yang tidak efisien sehingga menimbulkan pemborosan waktu.Untuk itu, dipergunakan pendekatan Lean untuk dapat mengindentifikasi aktivitas yang tidak bernilaitambah, mencari sumber penyebab dan kemudian merumuskan rekomendasi untuk dapat mengurangi ataumenghilangkannya. Berdasarkan hasil mapping proses dengan cara observasi, pembuatan Flow ProcessChart dan Value Stream Mapping diketahui masalah yang utama adalah proses pengeringan merupakanwaktu proses yang terpanjang sehingga berpotensi sebagai bottleneck. Selain itu, terdapat masalah seringnyaterjadi kecelakaan kerja dan keseluruhan proses yang dilakukan secara manual. Abstract

Chicken slaughter process waste is divided into two types, solid waste and liquid waste. Almost all of the waste generated by the chicken slaughter process can be reused. Lately, Vocational High School in Pasuruan, East Java, has Livestock Agribusiness unit that made a waste treatment program to deal with the problem of waste from the surrounding chicken slaughter process. However, some chicken slaughter process waste cannot be reprocessed and is directly dumped into the sewer due to limited technology. The type of waste that cannot reprocess is blood and chicken feather waste. This research aims to process the waste into high-quality fish food by applying the principle of automation and integrating machines with existing chicken cutting machines. The application of this appropriate technology begins with observing the existing conditions and the process of designing, manufacturing, and testing equipment carried out at Vocational High School in Pasuruan. The research resulted in designing and manufacturing machines that support waste treatment of blood and chicken feathers from Livestock Agribusiness. The machine design consists of three main components: a blood and chicken feather grinder, a vertical mixer, and a fish feed press machine. The expectations of this machine design will support productivity and concern for waste management, which can also build environmentally friendly standards in the Livestock Agribusiness unit of Vocational School in Pasuruan.

Abstract

Implementasi UU No 1 tahun 2014 dan UU No 23 tahun 2014 terlihat dalam pengelolaan kawasan hutan mangrove berada di bawah kewenangan Provinsi Jawa Timur. Namun demikian, masyarakat pesisir selatan Kabupaten Bangkalan dapat memanfaatkan sesuai dengan peraturan dan perundangan yang berlaku. Penerapan Perpres No 80 tahun 2019 dapat menjadi pendorong terbangunnya kawasan wisata di pesisir Kecamatan Modung melalui pemanfaatan sumberdaya alamnya. Pesisir Selatan Kabupaten Bangkalan berupaya membangun desa pesisir dengan zona-zona wisata. Perencanaan pengelolaan kawasan mangrove di pesisir selatan Kabupaten Bangkalan dalam revisi RTRW tahun 2020 ini diharapkan dapat dilakukan kolaborasi antara pemerintah kabupaten dan pemerintah propinsi sebagai bentuk implementasi UU No 1 tahun 2014 dan UU No 23 tahun 2014 dengan konsep pembangunan yang berkelanjutan dan terintegrasi.
