Abstract

Kata Kunci: Sistem Emulsi Membran; Sistem Ijuk Abstract This community service aims to increase people's understanding and awareness as well as a mediator in resolving the problem of decreasing shrimp yields and the availability of clean water on Bumi Dipasena. Community shrimp yields are below the standard and very much different from the company's harvest. The availability of clean water relies on rainwater which has a time limit for proper use and is a rare item in the dry season. Both of these problems have become major problems and have not been resolved for years. Many reasons are the cause of unresolved problems, starting from costs, the absence of collaboration between communities, and etc. Therefore, they need solutions that are not only effective but can accommodate the interests of the community. So, the alternative solution to the problem of decreasing shrimp yields suggested is the control of community shrimp farm water using a membrane emulsion system and the provision of clean water using a palm fiber system. The two solutions are believed to be realized because they are affordable in terms of costs, the control system is not complex, and the basic material for making the system is produced by the community itself. The reason stimulates the community to be enthusiastic in responding to the two systems offered and wants the system to be realized. Keywords: Membrane Emulsion System, Palm Fiber System

Kata Kunci: likuifaksi, tsunami, kerusakan bangunan, survei, asessemen Abstract The Palu earthquake on 28 September 2018 caused heavy casualties and losses with damage to infrastructure and buildings in three areas which are Palu, Sigi and Donggala. This tragedy was an impact of a very strong earthquake magnitude 7.4 followed by a tsunami and a very terrible liquefaction. It was necessary to conduct a survey following the assessment of building damage data that occurred in Palu as well as technical assistance to understand the earthquake resistant residential buildings concept. Based on the survey results, liquefaction occurred in three locations namely Petobo, Balaroa and Sigi. While the tsunami occurred on the coast of Donggala due to large land mass collapse during liquefaction. Some buildings and infrastructure that were damaged due to the lack of technical requirement of the earthquake loads resistancy building. In general, the society of Palu and the surrounding areas were not having adequate knowledable for the concept of earthquake resistant buildings, especially for simple residential buildings. Abstract

Abstract The concept of waste reduction (reduce), recycling or reusing (reuse/recycle), and safe disposal (dispose) is highly crucial in mitigating waste pollution today. The Community Service activity carried out at SMP Advent Tompaso through socialization and a creative waste recycling competition themed "Reduce Wasted and Save The Earth" underscores the importance of these principles. The enthusiasm of the students to learn about waste recycling methods in their environment, which can hold significant economic and market value, is evident. Furthermore, the participation of each class, sending their teams to compete in every contest, demonstrates their active involvement. From the two contests, namely the fashion show and waste recycling craft competition, it is apparent that each student possesses high levels of creativity. Plastic and paper waste transformed into clothing showcased in the fashion show highlight the variety of designs created. Meanwhile, the crafting of plastic waste into flower-shaped handicrafts demonstrates both economic and market value. Through the dissemination of information and the competitions, the hope is that students will not only become more environmentally conscious but also actively contribute to mitigating the impacts of global warming. They are encouraged not to dispose of waste recklessly but instead to start sorting waste in their surroundings, thus contributing to the preservation of the world and their immediate environment. Abstract

Planning/ design of a mature structure is very important in constructing a building. This is one of the goals of the Faculty of Engineering Community Service (PKM) held at the HKBP Resort Church of Perumnas Klender. The activities carried out are measuring and depicting existing church buildings that have stood, where these images can be used by the Church for the development and improvement of the Church in the future. The method used in this PKM is to conduct a field survey to be able to prepare measurements of the church building, then take measurements and draw the initial sketch of the church building on the first and second floors as a whole, until at the end of the activity a 2-dimensional drawing of the church building is carried out according to the measurements that have been made. in the field. This PKM activity produces two-floor dimensional plan builds analyzed by architectural and civil perspectives. Keywords: measurement and drawing; church building, Klender housing estate.

Abstract

Abstract Water is an essential and vital resource for all living organisms; without it, life on Earth would be unsustainable. Although the Earth has abundant water, the available supply of clean water is insufficient to meet demand, causing many people to suffer from water scarcity. Water shortages can be triggered by rising demand due to population growth, uneven water distribution, increasing water pollution, and inefficient water use. The misuse of water, especially in large cities, is alarming, as water exploitation can reduce water sources and disrupt water sustainability. Groundwater has various benefits, particularly as a primary source of clean water for communities, compared to surface water sources. Additionally, groundwater supports environmental stability by preventing land subsidence, sea water intrusion, and worsening groundwater pollution. To anticipate water shortages, alongside wise and controlled water usage, rainwater harvesting can be employed as an alternative water source. One method of water conservation in every household is rainwater harvesting, which involves collecting, storing, and conserving rainwater. Rainwater harvesting has been practiced for centuries in various countries experiencing water shortages. Harvested rainwater can be used for multiple purposes, such as watering plants, washing, bathing, and even cooking if the water quality meets health standards. The creation of biopores is another alternative in groundwater conservation, as this method returns surface water back into the ground. Given the above points, a team of lecturers and students from the Civil Engineering Study Program is attempting to provide training to the Kramatjati community on how to independently conserve water in each household.
