Abstract

Proses pembelajaran selama pandemi yang dilaksanakan secara online menuntut peran lebih orang tua dalam proses belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kontribusi serta kendala orang tua dalam mendampingi siswa selama pembelaaran yang dilakukan secara daring di SD Negeri Bulupayung 03, Kecamatan Patimuan, Kabupaten Cilacap. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian adalah 12 orang tua kelas 1 hingga kelas 6. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dicek uji validitas dan dianalisis dengan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Setelah dianalisis diperoleh hasil penelitian, 1) Bentuk kontribusi orang tua selama proses pembelajaran meliputi: mendampingi (75%), menjadi fasilitator (75%), menjadi motivator (100%) dan menjadi director atau pengarah (100%). Kendala orang tua dalam pembelajaran daring di SD Negeri Bulupayung 03 yaitu waktu dan biaya serta sinyal dan terbatasnya pemahaman materi oleh orang tua

Abstract

Abstract

The issue of bullying has a severe impact on the mental and physical well-being of the victim, with fatal consequences such as severe depression or death. Parental influence is crucial in preventing bullying. Children tend to mimic their parents' attitudes and behaviours. Positive attitudes, empathy and tolerance from parents can encourage children to adopt these values. Parents who are actively involved and open to effective communication help children develop empathy and feel supported, making them more likely to report or seek help in bullying situations. Parents need to understand the psychological and legal aspects of bullying and school violence prevention to protect their children's well-being. Psychological knowledge helps recognise early signs of trauma and provide emotional support, as well as establishing the values of empathy, tolerance and respect in children. Legal knowledge enables parents to take appropriate action if their child is victimised, liaise with schools and authorities, and ensure anti-bullying policies are implemented. This regulation creates a safe and supportive environment for children to grow. Strengthening parents' understanding and knowledge of bullying prevention and its psychological and legal impacts was done through counselling activities. This counselling presented material on the psychological impact of bullying on children and the legal consequences for perpetrators and omission of bullying activities for both children and schools and parents. The counselling sessions were attended by parents, teachers, and school committees. The counselling participants said that after attending the training, their knowledge about bullying, its impact, and preventive measures improved. The results of the questionnaire before and after attending the counselling showed increased participants' understanding. Keywords: bullying; prevention; violence Abstrak: Perundungan dan kekerasan di sekolah berdampak parah pada perkembangan mental dan emosional anak serta mengganggu proses belajar mengajar. Data FSGI, pada periode Januari-Juli 2023 terdapat 16 kasus perundungan dengan 43 korban. Jumlah ini meningkat menjadi 23 kasus pada periode Januari-September 2023, dengan tingkat perundungan tertinggi terjadi di sekolah menengah pertama (SMP) yang mencapai 50%, bahkan 2 orang meninggal dunia selama periode tersebut SMP Muhammadiyah Kembaran juga menghadapi masalah ini. Untuk mencegah bullying dan kekerasan, diadakan penyuluhan dengan metode ceramah dan diskusi guna memberikan pemahaman komprehensif dan praktis. Kegiatan ini melibatkan guru dan orang tua untuk menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang aman. Hasil penyuluhan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan kesadaran peserta tentang dampak negatif bullying dan kekerasan serta pentingnya peran setiap orang dalam pencegahannya, yang terbukti dari hasil kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah sesi penyuluhan.Kata kunci: kekerasan; perundungan; pencegahan

Abstract

Technological advancements have had a profound impact on the education sector around the globe including in Thailand and other developing countries.  as in many other developing countries, there are major challenges in adapting with the rapid development of technology. The school where the community service was held also faced similar issues. With an innovative approach through assessment training using technology, this community engagement activity is expected to be a positive step towards educational transformation, particularly in the southern part of Thailand. With the active involvement of teachers as well as full support from related parties, we can create a learning environment that is more dynamic, relevant, and globally competitive. A pre-test and a post-test were conducted at the beginning and the end of the training to measure teachers’ understanding in implementing digital assessment strategies. By equipping teachers with the knowledge and skills to implement digital assessment strategies, the training has had a measurable impact on professional development and instructional practices. In addition, the training provide access to further consultation or guidance, participants can feel supported and more confident in applying their learning in the classroom. The results of the pre- and post-training survey demonstrated a substantial improvement, averaging 51.3% increase across all survey items. This indicates the positive impact of the training in enhancing teachers' competencies in integrating technology into their assessment practices.  Moving forward, schools in rural Thailand can apply the lessons learned from this workshop to enhance their own educational outcomes. Keywords: teacher training; digital assessment strategies; southern Thailand Abstrak: Dalam era globalisasi yang semakin cepat, pendidikan adalah salah satu aspek yang paling terpengaruh oleh perkembangan teknologi. Di Thailand Selatan, seperti di banyak negara berkembang, ada tantangan besar dalam dalam beradaptasi dengan perkembangan teknologi yang pesat. Sekolah tempat dimana program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan juga menghadapi masalah serupa. Dengan pendekatan inovatif melalui pelatihan penilaian menggunakan teknologi, kegiatan keterlibatan masyarakat ini diharapkan menjadi langkah positif menuju transformasi pendidikan di wilayah Thailand Selatan ini. Dengan keterlibatan aktif dari para guru serta dukungan penuh dari pihak terkait, kita dapat menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang lebih dinamis, relevan, dan kompetitif secara global. Pre-test dan post-test dilakukan di awal dan akhir pelatihan untuk mengukur pemahaman guru dalam menerapkan strategi penilaian digital. Selain itu, pelatihan menyediakan akses ke konsultasi atau bimbingan lebih lanjut, sehingga peserta merasa didukung dan lebih percaya diri dalam menerapkan pembelajaran mereka di kelas. Setelah pelatihan selesai, kedua pihak melakukan evaluasi menyeluruh untuk mengukur keberhasilan, mengidentifikasi area yang perlu perbaikan, dan memberikan dampak yang lebih positif dalam jangka panjang.Kata kunci: pelatihan guru; strategi penilaian digital; thailand selatan

Abstract

This study investigates the experiences of Indonesian pre-service teachers majoring in English education who participated in the SEA Teacher program, specifically focusing on those assigned to teach English in the Philippines. The primary objective was to identify the challenges these Indonesian SEA Teacher awardees encountered and the strategies they employed to mitigate these challenges, considering the differing statuses of English in Indonesia (as an EFL context) and the Philippines (as an ESL context). The research utilized a g inquiry approach, complemented by semi-structured interviews, to gather qualitative data. The participants comprised four pre-service teachers who successfully completed the SEA Teacher international teaching practice program in 2023, which spanned one month. The findings reveal several challenges faced by the participants, including issues related to self-confidence, language barriers, the educational system, and the availability of facilities. The study underscores the importance of thorough preparation, adaptability, and mentor support in overcoming these obstacles and enhancing teaching practices.

Abstract

Penggunaan media dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat membantu siswa memahami materi pelajaran.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development).Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan media permainan balok pecahan dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar, mengetahui kelayakan media permainan balok pecahan, mengetahui pengaruh media permainan balok pecahan terhadap prestasi belajar matematika, dan mengetahui respon guru dan siswa terhadap media permainan balok pecahan.Tahapan penelitian dan pengembangan ini mengacu pada model pengembangan media menurut Susilana dan Riyana (2011: 28).Data diperoleh melalui teknik tes berupa pretest dan posttest dan nontes berupa angket.Eksperimen dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pada skala terbatas yaitu di kelas IV di salah satu SD UPK Purwokerto Selatan dengan desain eksperimen the true control group design.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media permainan balok pecahan dapat dikembangkan lebih efektif untuk pembelajaran matematika materi pecahan di sekolah dasar. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan rata-rata hasil validasi ahli yaitu 4,35 yang menunjukkan bahwa media permainan balok pecahan layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh media permainan balok pecahan terhadap prestasi belajar matematika materi pecahan. Hasil respon guru dan siswa sangat baik dengan rata-rata respon guru 4,7 dan respon siswa 3,51.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of team-based learning practice in the Teaching Campus program on the participating students' self-efficacy and the school mentor teachers' professionalism. A mixed methods approach was employed in this research. A total of 44 students (comprising 22 students who participated in the Teaching Campus program and 22 students who did not take the program) and seven teachers in partner schools were involved in the study. A questionnaire survey to assess students self-efficacy was administered. Interviews with teachers were also conducted to evaluate how much the program affected their professionalism during the activity. The responses obtained from questionnaires were analyzed using the inferential statistical tool of T-test, whereas the qualitative data elicited from interviews were analyzed using a thematic procedure. The ex-post facto design comparing self-efficacy of the two groups has shown that there is a significant difference, where the students who took part in the Teaching Campus program are  superior over those who did not. In addition, the teachers who co-worked with the students in their schools have stated that they benefited from the scheme. These results have strong implications for the 'Freedom to Learn - Freedom Campus' policy in current Indonesia's higher education system, more specifically the 'Teaching Campus' program, which includes team-based learning as an essential component. Betterment in its implementation is encouraged to make, according to results of this study.

Abstract

This study investigated the impact of integrating Flipped Learning (FL) and Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) on the pragmatic competence of English as Foreign Language (EFL) students, with a particular focus on their pragmalinguistic competence related to making requests and refusals. Conducted in an Islamic higher education setting, this research addresses a gap in the existing literature, as the combined effect of FL and STAD on pragmatic competence remains underexplored. The study aimed to empirically assess the influence of this integrated pedagogical approach and examining students' perceptions of its effectiveness. The research gathered quantitative and qualitative data using a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design. Initially, quantitative data were collected from pre- and post-test scores using a two-group experimental design (experimental group N=28, control group N=28). Discourse Completion Tests (DCTs), focusing on requests and refusals, were employed to evaluate pragmatic competence. Subsequently, semi-structured interviews with eight students from experimental group were conducted to delve into their perceptions. ANCOVA statistical analysis revealed that the flipped-STAD group significantly outperformed the control group on post-test scores, demonstrating its effectiveness for enhancing pragmatic competence in requests and refusals. In contrast, the control group received traditional teacher-centred instruction, which limited opportunities for interactive pragmatic practice. This comparison between student-centred and teacher-centred methods might inherently favour the interactive approach. The findings from the Interviews indicated that students had positive perceptions of flipped-STAD for developing pragmalinguistic competence. Thus, flipped-STAD seems a promising strategy for enhancing pragmatic competence in EFL, offering educators with an effective method. However, further research is needed to compare it with other student-centred approaches.
