Abstract

This research aims to; (a) describe the episode of Ahmad Tohari's Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk novel; (b) describing the film episode of the Dancer by director Ifa Isfansyah; (c) describes a comparison of the story of Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk novel by Ahmad Tohari with the film The Dancer Director by Ifa Isfansyah, this type of research is a qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data of this study are episodes of the story of Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk's novel by Ahmad Tohari and the film Sang Penari Director by Ifa Isfansyah. Data collection techniques are carried out in three stages. The first stage was reading Ahmad Tohari's Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk karya novel, then proceeding to watch the film The Dancer's Director Ifa Isfansyah. The second stage is the data collection stage about the episode story of Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk novel by Ahmad Tohari and the film Sang Penari directed by Ifa Isfansyah's work collected through recording and observation techniques. The third stage is the stage of inventorying data into a data inventory format. Based on the results of research episodes in novels and films found a number of different episodes. The story episodes in the novel are found in 51 episodes, while in the film there are 46 episodes of the story. In the film there are 9 episodes of story episodes added, and 24 episodes of story episodes reduction, while novel episodes that experience varied changes after being screened as a film, found in 7 episodes. This happened because of the creativity of the director when adapting the novel to the film.     Keywords: ecranization, novel, film

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the structure and function of social expression of a ban on love, dating, and married in Kenagarian Toboh Sikaladi Kecamatan Sintuk Toboh Gadang Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. The research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. Background or where the study was conducted in Kenagarian Toboh Sikaladi Sintuk Toboh Tower District of Padang Pariaman district. The informants consist of one main informant and two supportive informants. Data were collected through three stages, namely observation, interview and recording techniques. After that, the data is analyzed by a data inventory phase, phase description of the structure and a social function, stage identifies the data, and reporting stage. Based on the results, it can be concluded that data about people's trust ban expression of love, dating, and married in Kenagarian Toboh Sikaladi Kecamatan Sintuk Toboh Gadang Kabupaten Padang Pariaman found as many as 53 expression. The structure of the people's trust in the public ban Kenagarian Toboh Sikaladi Kecamatan Sintuk Toboh Gadang Kabupaten Padang Pariaman is divided into two forms,ie expression of belief and expression structured two-part folk beliefs structured three parts.The phrase structured ban two parts are found as many as 45 expression, whereas expression of a structured three parts found eight expression. This study included into the category of folk beliefs surrounding human environment of love, courtship, and marriage. The social function of the people's trust ban expression in this research, strengthen religious emotion and conviction found as many as five expressions, fantasy projection system found 31 expression, educate found three expressions, prohibit found 13 expression, and had found a phrase.Keywords: social expression, local beliefs, prohibition

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the pleasures of the personality, (2) describe the prestige of recreation, (3) describe the pleasure of the group, and (4) describe juvenile delinquency in novel teenlit Love in B Minor by Anindita. The data of this research is the element of the novel teenlit Love in B Minor by Anindita. The source of this research data is novel teenlit Love in B Minor by Anindita. Data analysis technique is done through four stages, namely first, inventory. Second, identifying and classifying data through speech / action of characters and narrators abstracted as urban teen profile data covering personality fun, recreational prestige, group fun and juvenile delinquency. Third, interpret the data. Fourth draw conclusions and make a report. The results include 14 personality pleasure data, 8 recreational prestige data, 10 joy group data and 2 juvenile delinquency data in novel teenlit Love In B Minor by Anindita.Keywords : urban teenagers, teenlit novel, literature

Abstract

This article aims to describe the representation of rural communities are depicted in Bekisar Merah novel by Ahmad Tohari. This research is a qualitative, descriptive method that aims to create a description, picture, or painting in a systematic, factual, and accurate information on the facts, nature and the relationship between the phenomenon investigated, so saw the quality or the quality of the object under study , Results of the study found that the novel Bekisar Merah by Ahmad Tohari discusses the representation of rural communities, which can be described in six indicators, namely: (1) Process and social interaction in the countryside illustrate the friendliness between people, and solving problems together, (2 ) social stratification in rural areas based on soil and have a backup business ownership development. (3) the family and kinship systems rural communities have a sense of togetherness more closely and they consider the neighbors are family, (4) social change, (5) social organizations at the village bring a positive influence, helpful and is an inevitable requirement, (6) culture (norms and values) still held firm.Keywords: rural communities, representation, novel

Abstract

The purpose of this study were (1) to describe the structure of legends folklore Single Part of Nagari Paninggahan; (2) describe the structure of legends folklore Single Part of Pasa Akaik; (3) describe the structure of comparative folklore legends Single Part of Nagari Paninggahan the structure of legends Single Part in Pasa Akaik. This study is a qualitative research method. This study found that the ratio of the two legends found differences in flow elements, background elements, and elements of the theme. For the second equation legendary figure found expression in Single Part. Characterizations Single Part as nine young men who became the antagonist. Abstract

This study aimed to describe the role of women in the novel Tarian Bumi works Oka Rusmini especially regarding the role of women in family and society.  This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method that is verbally describing the problems found in the object of research, the theory used, data analysis, and so on. To examine how the role of women in family and society in the novel, this research is performed the the following steps: (1) analyzing the data by identifying the parts relating to the role of women in the family and society. (2) classify data relating to women’s roles. (3) interpret data. (4) make conclusions and compile research reports. Based on data analysis, it was concluded that the role of women in the novel Tarian Bumi by Oka Rusmini is as follows. (1) the role of women in the family in the Tarian Bumi novel by Oka Rusmini of: (a) the role of women as children (b) the role of women as mothers (c) the role of women as wives. Abstract

The study aims to describe the portraits of urban teenage women in the teenlit Love Me Marry Me by Esther Priscilla, which includes: personality pleasures, recreational prestige, and adolescent female delinquency. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. Data collection is conducted through: (1) reading and understanding the novel Love Me Marry Me by Esther Priscilla to gain an understanding of the novel; (2) Set a character in Love Me Marry Me by Esther Priscilla using the format; (3) Identifying data in accordance with the research issues; and (4) data input. Abstract

This article aims to describe social problems in the collection of short Cemara by Hamsad Rangkuti. The data in this study are words, phrases, clauses, or sentences that contain the discourse of social problems in the collection of short Cemara by Hamsad Rangkuti. The source of the data in this study is the short-short story in a collection of short Cemara by Hamsad Rangkuti. In this short story collection has 15 titles of short stories, but only 12 short story from which the data in this study. Data that has been entered into the tables collected inventory data to obtain summary data. The results showed that in a collection of short Cemara by Hamsad Rangkuti indeed found the existence of problems that are contained on each short story that became a source of research. Aspects of social issues contained in a collection of short stories this is a form, causes, and the impact of social issues. Causes of social problems in the collection of short stories include the economical factors, biological, cultural, and bio-psychology, but not bio-psychology many factors were discovered. In a few short stories that became a source of research, there is a form of deviant behavior and social inequalities that clearly reflected the author's way of building character stories and figures according to the theme that many raised issues of life in the social community.Keywords: social problems, the collection of short Cemara by Hamsad Rangkuti

Abstract

This research aims to describe (1) structures of novel of Pulang by Leila S. Chudori, (2) image of women as personal, and (3) image of women as society member. Theoritical studies used in this research are: (1) the essence of novel including: (a) the definition of novel and (b) substance of novel, (2) sociology of literature, (3) fiction analysis approach, (4) image of women, (5) women as personal, (6) image of women in social structure, (7) image of women in Javanese culture, and (8) critics of feminism literature. Type of this research is qualitative research which uses descriptive method. The data in this research are in form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences which indicate image of women. The source of this research is novel Pulang by Leila S. Chudori. The data were collected by using descriptive method which prioritized the comprehension toward interconcept interaction which was examined empirically. The results of this research are: image of women in novel Pulang by Leila S. Chudori as follows: image of women as personal, women who have beauty, women who are gentle, and women who are modest and image of women as society member: relationship with family/society circle and care about family/society circle which take role as a child, as an older sister, as a younger sister, as a wife, as a mother, as a seller, as a guest, and as a host.Keywords: image, women, personal, society member, novel

Abstract

The type of this research is qualitative research using descriptive analysis method. The object of this research is the novel by Kalatidha Seno Gumira Ajidarma. The completion technique of the data is done as follows. First, read and understand about the novel of Kalatidha by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Second, to inventory the data related to political conflict, as well as the impact of conflict in Kalatidha's novel by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Third, the grouping of the data that related  to indicators of political conflict, that is rulers between people in authority with society and both one society with the others and indicators of the causes of political conflict consisting of struggles and disputes, and the effects of political conflicts, namely culling, killing, torture, arson, detention without prosecuted, restriction, and defamation contained in Kalatidha's novel by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. The results of the research as follows. First, the political representation arises because the authors are not satisfied with the reality of political events, political conditions and political events of the New Orde regime of the G30S/PKI in Indonesia . The event is represented in the form of political conflict. The cause of political conflict between one society and another provoked by the policy of the authorities. Second factors that causing political conflict are caused by the struggle and opposition of the people toward the authorities. Third, the impact of political conflicts such as culling, killing, torture, arson, detention without prosecuted, restriction, and defamation.Keywords: representation, political, conflict, Kalatidha
