Abstract

This research purpose is to compare the opportunities and challenges in using AI in English learning.  The scope of the study is limited to the opportunities and challenges of English language learning. This study was conducted using a mixed method of observing and distributing questionnaires to students. AI has transformed English language learning in higher education. Students use AI for a variety of purposes, asking and solving questions and checking grammatical errors, checking plagiarism, paraphrasing, and reviewing literature. This research also reveals that AI has various advantages for language teaching and learning, including the detection of plagiarism and grammatical errors. Additionally, AI has created opportunities and challenges for the future of English language teaching. This research is expected to find out what opportunities and challenges exist in using AI in learning English for STIKOM Uyelindo Kupang students. The contributions of this research are strengthening technology-based learning theory, demonstrating how AI can transform traditional approaches into adaptive and personalized learning, and become new learning models: Generating integrative models of linguistic theory, pedagogy, and artificial intelligence (e.g., AI-assisted language learning models). Learning behavior analysis: providing new insights into how students interact with AI systems, for example, in terms of motivation, learning autonomy, or learning strategies.

Abstract

Background: Fainting (syncope) is a common emergency in school settings, particularly during ceremonies and physical activities. Members of the Youth Red Cross (Palang Merah Remaja/PMR) are expected to possess adequate first aid skills to respond promptly and appropriately to fainting incidents in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Methods: This community service activity consisted of health education sessions and hands-on first aid practice using instructional media. The program was conducted at the Hall of SMK Ahmad Yani Gurah from October 20 to November 20, 2025. A total of 39 PMR students and 6 university students participated. Participants’ first aid skills were evaluated using pre-test and post-test observation sheets. Results: Pre-test results showed that nearly half of the participants (17 students; 43.6%) achieved a score of 60, indicating limited initial competence. Post-test results demonstrated a substantial improvement, with most participants (30 students; 76.9%) achieving scores above 88, reflecting enhanced first aid skills in managing fainting cases. Conclusion: First aid training for fainting management significantly improved the competence of PMR members. Continuous and structured training programs, both within and outside school settings, are recommended to ensure adherence to SOPs and to promote active participant engagement. Abstract

Primary dysmenorrhea is a common problem among adolescent girls and may negatively affect daily activities, emotional well-being, and academic performance. Various non-pharmacological approaches have been explored to manage menstrual pain with minimal side effects, including the consumption of dark chocolate, which contains magnesium and bioactive compounds associated with pain modulation and neuromuscular relaxation. However, evidence regarding structured dark chocolate consumption in early adolescent populations, particularly within school-based settings in semi-urban areas of Indonesia, remains limited, and optimal dosing schedules and implementation under nursing supervision have not been sufficiently explored. This study aimed to examine the effect of dark chocolate consumption on the reduction of primary dysmenorrhea pain intensity among adolescent girls. Methods: A pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest–posttest design was conducted among 30 seventh-grade female students who experienced primary dysmenorrhea. Participants consumed dark chocolate consumption with ≥70% cocoa content at a total dose of 30 grams per day, divided into three intakes per day, for two consecutive days during the first and second days of menstruation. Pain intensity was measured using a numerical rating scale before the first consumption (pretest) and after completion of the intervention (posttest). Data were analyzed using univariate analysis and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test to assess changes in pain intensity following the intervention. The findings demonstrated a statistically and clinically significant reduction in dysmenorrhea pain intensity within the study sample. The mean pain score decreased markedly from 6.13 prior to the intervention to 3.70 after dark chocolate consumption, reflecting a transition from moderate to mild pain levels among most participants. Wilcoxon signed-rank analysis confirmed that this reduction was significant (p < 0.05), indicating that the observed improvement represented a consistent and meaningful change across the sample rather than random variation. Dark chocolate consumption was associated with a significant reduction in primary dysmenorrhea pain among adolescent girls. These findings support the use of dark chocolate as a simple, acceptable, and low-risk non-pharmacological intervention.

Abstract

A person's motivation to engage in an activity is influenced by several factors, including intrinsic and extrinsic factors. The motivation of PMR members to participate in PMR training activities in providing first aid to victims of fainting is a drive that arises within students to act or undertake something to achieve their desired goals, one of which is physical fitness. Improving the abilities/skills of PMR members in handling fainting is very important to minimize the risk of secondary injury, speed up the victim's recovery, and save someone's life. To determine the influence of motivation and skills of PMR in providing first aid for fainting at SMK Ahmad Yani Gurah. The research design is descriptive, population and sample of 39 respondents, with total sampling technique. The research was conducted from March 27 to April 30, 2025, variable x is Motivation and variable y is PMR's skill in providing first aid for fainting, instruments with interviews, questionnaires and data observations were analyzed with percentages, and interpreted quantitatively using the ANOVAa Statistical Test with Simple Linear Regression. Most respondents have strong motivation 33 (85%) and a small number of respondents have moderate motivation 6 (15%) and almost all respondents have good skills 33 (85%) and a small number of respondents have sufficient skills 6 (15%), the results of the ANOVA statistical test show an influence in providing first aid for fainting on motivation (p = 0.003) and skills (p = 0.003). This study shows that providing first aid for fainting is influenced by the motivation and skills of the PMR members of SMK Ahmad Yani Gurah. It is hoped that PMR members will be able to improve their motivation and skills related to first aid for fainting, in accordance with their own motivation and skills for others. Abstract
