Abstract

To build an efficient transportation system product, possible alternatives paths and modes of transportation for all types of products to be marketed and distributed are signifcant requirements need to be mapped by logistics operator. It becomes more complex due to each product type has its own characteristics and market objectives, thus this is requiring the design of transport schemes that can accommodate those needs in addition to be able to meet its sales target of cargo producers, both in terms of selling volume and revenue. Selection of the appropriate transport scheme is one of the key to achieve efficiency in companies’ operation. Therefore, this study explores the comprehensive transportation process including the route and its capacity, vehicle, cargo volume and the time so that the objectives to transport the cargo is achieved. At the result, the logistics model using networking analysis by Excel and ARENA that has been aplied in this study may be used as optimization method of transporting and distributing cargoes including able to provide recommendations pattern / scheme of transport and logistics effectively and efficiently from Java to both various points in Java and Sumatera

Abstract

Zonal trip generation is usually assummed to be influenced only by demographic and economic variables. It is seldom to consider spatial position of the zones as an influence variables to its trip generation. In actual condition, people will consider strategic position of residential area when they choose to buy or rent of their home, in accordance with their place of activities such as working, studying for their children and shopping. This research aim is to calculate the influence of spatial position of residential zones from the activities centers to zonal trip generation in Surabaya, Indonesia. Surabaya has several activities centers that can be classified as urban centers and suburban centers. In order to define position of residential zones in relation with activities centers, travel time is defined as a spatial measure which can be measured using Google Maps. Trip generation data is compiled from origin-destination matrix from household interview survey. Regression analysis is used for calculation of the influence of spatial position of residential zones in relation to the activities centres to zonal trip generation. The result shows that travel time to urban center influences reduction of the residential trip generation more than travel time to suburban centers does. However, still many trips were not influenced by travel time from residential to city center since housing ownership in Surabaya is fixed system more than flexible one, and housing at periphery area much cheaper than at city center.

Abstract

The movement of aircraft and passengers at Juanda international airport was increasing each year. Juanda airport airside infrastructure was almost reaching the maximum capacity. So that, PT. Angkasa Pura I as the operator of Juanda airport planned to revitalize the Juanda airport terminal that located on the south side. This terminal was not already 8 years operating. The infrastructure to be evaluated was the strength of taxiway pavement.Juanda airport taxiway pavement evaluated by using software COMFAA. Data input into the software COMFAA was the existing pavement structure and movement of the aircraft that will use the terminal that in the south side of Juanda airport. The results showed that the existing taxiway pavement structure was able to hold the load of aircraft movements over 20 years. So that, to prepare a taxiway pavement in the south side of Juanda airport, PT. Angkasa Pura I need only overlay the existing taxiway pavement.

Abstract

Abstract

U-turn movement possible generates queueing on U-turn system. Queueing which occurs near intersection could affects to intersection performance. The intersection performance that influenced is speed of vehicle to pass the intersection. The impact is interlock of intersection movement possibly occur. The objective of the research is to determine minimum distance of U-turn and intersection based on Poisson Process Simulation. Location of this research is U-turn on Surabaya, Indonesia with distance from the nearest intersection about 202 meters. Queueing will occur when arrival time of vehicle from intersection is above of total arrival time and service time of vehicle from U-turn. The result of simulation is total queuing cause of operational U-turn about  10 vehicles or 60 meters. The reduction distance of U-turn and Intersection is 142 meters, and it’s still fulfil the requirement of regulation about the distance between opening and intersection.
