Abstract

Amputees require effective support through prostheses, which help restore mobility. Maintaining cleanliness of the stump and prosthesis is essential to prevent skin problems, ensuring comfort during activities. This study aims to determine the relationship between patients' cleanliness levels and skin issues on the stumps of lower limb prosthesis users. This research was conducted in December 2023 at the Community Resource Rehabilitation Development and Training Center (PPRBM) Solo, utilizing the Self-Management Assessment for the Residuum and Prosthesis (S.M.A.R.T) in a cross-sectional observational design. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 40 lower limb prosthesis users. Data analysis involved the Shapiro Wilk normality test and hypothesis testing with Pearson Product Moment. Analysis of the 40 participants revealed a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of -0.737. This indicates a significant and strong negative correlation: higher cleanliness levels correspond to fewer skin problems on the stump, while lower cleanliness levels lead to more skin issues. Maintaining a high level of cleanliness is crucial for lower limb prosthesis users to prevent skin issues on the stump.

Abstract

Background: Skateboarding is also an extreme sport and in Indonesia it is not very popular but has the potential to be liked by young people in Singaraja Bali. Due to the nature of skateboarding, including high speeds and extreme maneuvers, such as jumping from heights and performing extreme movements that can injure the joint bearing of the knee, injuries often occur when a skateboarder collides with an inanimate object, falling off the skateboard. Knee support is made of elastic material with medial and lateral supports made of metal. Elastic material that has the ability to stretch and return to its original state quickly so that it serves as a fixation on the knee that suffers from knee pain. With the fixation on the knee as well as support and stabilizer on the knee joint will relieve pain in patients with knee pain so it is expected to reduce pain. Method: The research design of the effect of the use of knee support to knee pain of skateboard players is a type of quantitative research using a quasi-experimental design with one group pre and posttest design. Data was collected in the Singaraja Bali sports hall in September - December 2020. Skateboarders' knee pain was measured using a VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) questionnaire. The population is 14 skateboarders who play at the Singaraja Bali sports hall. All respondents were sampled using the total sampling method. Result: There were 11 males and 3 females as respondents. Pre-test Knee pain VAS score before using knee support is average of 5.93 while the post test score after using knee support for two weeks is average of 2.14. Normality data using the Shapiro Wilk result is not normally distributed. The result of Wilcoxon is p value 0.001. P value is less than 0.05. So it can be concluded that the use of knee support has a significant effect in reducing knee pain in skateboarders. Conclusion: there is an effect of the use of knee support to knee pain of skateboard players. It is advisable for skateboarders to wear knee support when feeling pain while skateboarding.

Abstract

Technical analysis stands as a pivotal strategy in analyzing graphic patterns to forecast future movements in crypto asset prices. However, comprehending numerous patterns poses a significant challenge for novice investors venturing into the investment realm. This study aims to facilitate investors in recognizing crypto price graph forms by classifying cryptographic price chart patterns. The dataset comprises images of seven types of crypto price graphic patterns obtained from the Kagle website, totaling 210 data points. A 70:30 training and testing data split is employed to ensure robust model evaluation. The study explores nine different Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) parameter combinations for graphic pattern extraction. Leveraging the artificial neural network (ANN) classification method with parameter hyper tuning, the study assesses various HOG parameter configurations to optimize classification performance. The most optimal results are achieved with parameters Bin = 9, Cell Size = 16x16, and Block Size = 1x1, boasting an accuracy rate of 95.23%, precision of 95.55%, and recall of 95.23%. This classification approach streamlines the process for investors, enabling them to discern crypto price graph patterns effectively, thereby enhancing their investment decision-making capabilities in the dynamic cryptocurrency market landscape. By providing a structured method for pattern recognition, this study contributes to democratizing access to technical analysis tools, particularly benefiting novice investors seeking to navigate the complexities of cryptocurrency investment.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a leading global health issue and a primary risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Despite national strategies in Indonesia, evidence on hypertension control implementation at the district and community levels remains scarce. Surakarta reports hypertension as the most common non-communicable disease (NCD), yet little is known about how policies are translated into practice at primary health centers. Methods: This qualitative descriptive study applied a policy analysis approach, guided by the COREQ reporting standard. Five purposively selected participants (three health workers, one patient, and one district health officer) were interviewed between June and September 2023. Data were collected through in-depth interviews (30–60 minutes) and document reviews, and were analyzed thematically using Creswell’s framework. Results: Three themes emerged: (1) hypertension control policies operationalized at the primary healthcare level and supported by innovations such as BU DESI (Buru Diabetes dan Hipertensi); (2) health promotion through Posbindu PTM and cadre empowerment; and (3) monitoring and evaluation via regular monthly reviews, though patient adherence and multisectoral collaboration remain limited. Conclusion: While hypertension control in Surakarta aligns partially with national strategies, its novelty lies in integrating locally driven innovations such as BU DESI. The study highlights the need to strengthen community empowerment and multisectoral collaboration.

Abstract

Background: Spirituality has increasingly been recognized as an important dimension of recovery in severe mental illness. However, qualitative understanding of the lived spiritual needs of individuals with schizophrenia remains limited, particularly in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). This study aimed to explore the lived spiritual needs of individuals with schizophrenia and examine their significance within recovery-oriented mental health care. Methods: This qualitative study employed van Manen’s interpretive phenomenology grounded in Heideggerian philosophy. Seven participants diagnosed with schizophrenia according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) and International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision (ICD-10; F20.x) were recruited using purposive sampling. Inclusion criteria included clinical stability, living with family, and the ability to communicate verbally. Exclusion criteria included acute psychotic exacerbation and severe cognitive impairment interfering with communication. Data were collected through face-to-face semi-structured interviews (40–60 minutes; mean 52 minutes), supported by field notes. Data saturation was achieved when no new codes emerged in the final interviews. Data were analyzed using an interpretive phenomenological approach guided by van Manen, supported procedurally by Miles and Huberman’s interactive model for data organization. This study adhered to the Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ). Results: Three major themes emerged: (1) Transcendence (inner peace, actualization of trust, hope, forgiveness, religious doctrine); (2) Sense of Existence (social support and usefulness); and (3) Personal Values (gratitude and search for meaning). Spirituality functioned as an existential integration mechanism facilitating emotional regulation, identity reconstruction, and recovery-oriented meaning-making. Conclusion: Spiritual needs play a central role in recovery processes among individuals with schizophrenia. Integrating culturally sensitive spiritual assessment into psychiatric services may strengthen holistic and recovery-oriented mental health care in LMIC contexts.
