Abstract

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is a subjective value to the quality of services provided. Although subjective, there is still an objective basis, especially the patient's assessment which is based on past experience, education, psychological situation at that time, and the existing reality. The type and design of this research is a descriptive observational research that analyzes the patient's assessment of the service quality of the Outpatient Installation of the Islamic Hospital in Surabaya. Judging from the time of the study, this study included a cross sectional study. The population in this study were all patients at the Islamic Hospital Surabaya Outpatient Installation from an average of January, February and March 2020. The total population in this study was 14,000 patients based on the number of visits per month. during the first Quarter, starting from January to March 2020 with the slofin formula, 113 respondents were found. The five dimensions are: (1) Responsiveness, (2) Assurance, (3) Tangible, (4) Empathy and (5) Reliable is good and exceeds the standard than expected. The average satisfaction of all respondents is 8.56 / 85.6% this is close to the standard set by SPM customer satisfaction, which is 90%. Based on the demographics and characteristics of the following respondents, respondents who have satisfaction with service quality are as follows (1) Age 36-45 (2) Gender is Female (3) who has a residence distance of > 10 Km (4) with an insurance guarantor/ Institutions (5) with master's education served in the old building using the relationship test obtained sig < 0.005 so that it can be concluded that there is a relationship between perceived service quality and patient satisfaction, the higher the service quality felt by the patient, the higher the satisfaction felt by the patient.

Abstract

The definition of Patient Safety Incidents (PSIs) refers to specific occurrences that unintentionally happen and result in, or potentially lead to, injuries in patients if not prevented. PSIs require special attention, especially in healthcare settings. According to the report collected by the Hospital Patient Safety Committee of the Surabaya Orthopedic and Traumatology Hospital from 2018 to 2021, there were 177 patient safety incidents recorded. This study aims to analyze the effect of Team Situation Awareness (TSA) on Patient Safety Incidents through Teamwork at Surabaya Orthopedic and Traumatology Hospital. The variables identified for analysis are Team Situation Awareness (TSA) and Teamwork. Because this study was conducted over a specific time period, it follows a cross-sectional design and is an analytical observational study. Path analysis was employed to analyze the data. The measurement revealed that TSA resulted in 64.3% of work units being categorized at level 2 (comprehension), and for Teamwork, 64.3% of the works units were categorized as “Good”. The results of the Path Analysis using SmartPLS 4.0 showed the effect of TSA was significant with a p-value of <0.05, and TSA’s effect on Teamwork was also significant with a p-value of <0.05. Based on the path analysis (SEM-PLS), it was found that TSA indirectly affected PSIs through Teamwork, with a significant indirect effect having a p-value <0.05. Team Situation Awareness indirectly influenced PSIs through Teamwork.  One approach to reducing the frequency of PSIs is to improve Team Situation Awareness (TSA) within each work unit at Surabaya Orthopedic and Traumatologic Hospital.   Keywords: Patient Safety Incidents, PSIs, team situation awareness, TSA, teamwork

Abstract

The cornerstone of patient safety is a culture of safety, which can significantly reduce adverse events. According to the 2022 Hospital Accreditation Standards, hospitals are required to measure and evaluate patient safety culture annually. This research aims to assess the level of patient safety culture at Rumah Sakit Mata Undaan so it can serve as a reference for developing policies to enhance patient safety culture. This study employs a cross-sectional design and a quantitative methodology to conduct a descriptive investigation. This study includes the entire population, with a total sample size of 189 respondents, consisting of non-health workers, medical staff, and other healthcare workers. Measurement was conducted using the ten safety culture variables from the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture (HSOPSC) questionnaire developed by AHRQ. The result indicate that  69.4% of respondents, on average,  agreed with the patient safety culture dimensions. Among them, "Teamwork" received the highest percentage of favorable responses (86%), while "Communication Openness" had the lowest percentage  (55%). Overall, the patient safety culture at Rumah Sakit Mata Undaan in Surabaya falls into the "Moderate" category. Improvements are needed to strengthen safety dimensions that are currently in the  moderate category, aiming to elevate them to the strong category. Abstract

ABC Hospital is a class B hospital with an increase in capacity to 238 beds. The process of cost analysis and unit cost preparation is very necessary in determining the burden of each service unit. This calculation is used to prepare service rates, in this case the inpatient room rates. The aim of this research is to analyze BPJS inpatient costs, analyze financial costs during January – July 2023, compare costs with predetermined plans and calculate fixed costs, variable costs and semi-variable costs in calculating inpatient rates. This research is descriptive qualitative, by processing secondary data that has been provided. The data used is service visit data from medical records, financial data for January – July 2023, BPJS TXT data for January – July 2023. ABC Hospital has carried out controls related to quality control and costs, by prioritizing effectiveness and costs. The biggest income is from BPJS income while the biggest cost is labor costs. In calculating unit costs, several cost variables are used, including Fixed Cost, Semi-variable Cost and Variable Cost with the average unit cost being 362,020 rupiah.
