Abstract

In a football club, athletes must increase hard and fast kicking exercises, so that what must be considered is explosive power development exercises. One form of exercise that can improve the components of physical condition and leg muscle strength is circuit training. So this study aims to increase leg muscle power which is given the application of circuit training exercises at the Mandala FC Jaddih football club aged 17 years. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach, an experimental research type. With a sample of 15 athletes, the primary data collection process was obtained based on the results of observations in the field by conducting observations at the research location. The research design used was a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research instrument was a Standing Board Jump to measure leg muscle strength using pretest and posttest tests. From the results of the descriptive pretest test, it had a value of 2.34 and a posttest value of 3.76. From the results of the paired sample t-test, it is known that the average on the test and post-test was -1.41800 with a standard deviation of 0.58872. It produces a t-value of -9.329 and a sig (2-tiled) of 0.00. Because the sig value <5% (a) then it can be concluded that there is a difference in the pretest and posttest values. This means that circuit training has a significant effect on increasing leg muscle strength in the Mandala FC Jaddih football club aged 17 years

Abstract

Maximal oxygen volume (VO₂Max) is a major indicator of aerobic capacity and cardiovascular health. At the age of 30 years, there is a gradual decline in cardiorespiratory function if not balanced with adequate physical activity. Swimming training is categorized as a low-impact aerobic activity that involves many muscle groups simultaneously and has the potential to increase VO₂Max in non-athlete populations. This study aims to evaluate the effect of 30-minute swimming training on increasing VO₂Max in 30-year-old non-athlete individuals. The design of this study was a one-group pretest-posttest with a quantitative approach. A total of 20 male subjects aged 30 years (±1 year), who were physically inactive and had no history of chronic disease, participated in a swimming training program for six weeks, three times a week, each for 30 minutes. VO₂Max was measured using a multistage fitness test (beep test) before and after the intervention. Statistical analysis used a paired t-test with a significance level of p <0.05. The results showed a statistically significant increase in VO₂Max (mean pretest = 35.2 ± 3.4 ml/kg/min; posttest = 39.1 ± 3.6 ml/kg/min; p < 0.001), indicating a positive adaptation to aerobic training in water. Regular 30-minute swimming training has been shown to be effective in increasing VO₂Max in non-athlete 30-year-old individuals. This training can be recommended as an efficient and low-risk fitness strategy for the productive age group.
