Abstract

This research aims to describe the effectivity of guided inquiry learning in increasing learning motivation and student concept mastery. This research used quasi-experiment method with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel was decided using purposive sampling technique. Sample in this research was Senior High School 13 Bandar Lampung with X2 as experiment class and X5 as control class. The effectivity of guided inquiry learning model was measured based on n-Gain significant differentiation between learning motivation and student mastery concept in control class and experiment class. The result of this research showed n-Gain average of student learning motivation, 0.12 for control class and 0.23 for experiment class; and average of student concept mastery n-Gain control class and experiment class was 0,43 and 0,63. Based on hypothesis testing with t-test, it concluded that guided inquiry was effective in increasing learning motivation and student concept mastery on basic postulates of chemistry.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan penguasaan konsep siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Penentuan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung kelas X2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X5 sebagai kelas kontrol. Efektivitas model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing ditentukan berdasarkan perbedaan n-Gain motivasi belajar dan penguasaan konsep siswa yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata n-Gain motivasi belajar siswa kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing sebesar 0,12 dan 0,23, dan rata-rata n-Gain penguasaan konsep siswa kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing 0,43 dan 0,63. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t, didapat kesimpulan bahwa model inkuiri terbimbing efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan penguasaan konsep hukum-hukum dasar kimia siswa.Kata kunci: motivasi belajar, pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, penguasaan konsep

Abstract

This research aims to describe the effectiveness of guided inquiry to improve metacognition skills on electrolyte and non electrolyte solutions topic. The research method used was quasi experimental with pretest-postest control group design. The sample use was done by cluster random sampling, obtained X IPA 7 as experimental class and X IPA 6 as control class. The effectiveness of guided inquiry was showed by the significant difference of average n-Gain of metacognition skills between the experiment and control class, experiment class was 0.70 with high category and for control class was 0.53 with middle category. The conclusion of this research is effective guided inquiry and has a high effect to improve the ability of metacognition on electrolyte and non electrolyte solutions topic.Keywords: metacognition skills, guided inquiry, electrolyte and non electrolyte solutionsPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas inkuiri terbimbing untuk meningkatkan keterampilan metakognisi siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan pretest-postest control group design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara cluster random sampling, didapat kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Efektivitas inkuiri terbimbing ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan rata-rata n-Gain keterampilan metakognisi siswa yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, yaitu kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,70 dengan kategori “tinggi” dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,53 dengan kategori “sedang”. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu inkuiri terbimbing efektif dan mempunyai ukuran pengaruh yang besar untuk meningkatkan keterampilan metakognisi siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit.Kata Kunci: keterampilan metakognisi, inkuiri terbimbing, larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit

Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe the effectiveness of guided discovery learning in improving concept mastery in hydrocarbon material.  The guided discovery learning consists of 3 phases; they are exploration, discovery and concept application, and evaluation.  Population in this research was all 360 Grade X students in State Senior High School 12 in Bandar Lampung in academic year 2011-2012 which were distributed in 10 classrooms; from classroom X1 to X10. Classroom X5 and X10 were used as samples which were collected with purposive sampling.  This research used quasi experiment method and non equivalent control group design.  Effectiveness of guided discovery learning was measured based on N-Gain values.  The results showed that the classroom with guided discovery learning possessed higher concept mastery than classrooms with conventional learning.  The averages of N-Gain values for student’s concept mastery for experiment and control classrooms were 0.539 and 0.402 respectively.   This indicated that the guided discovery learning was more effective in improving student’s concept mastery in hydrocarbon material.   Kata kunci:         pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing, penguasaan konsep,    hidrokarbon

Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe the effectiveness of guided inquiry learning model which was effective in increasing of provide a simple explanation skill and mastery of concepts in the subject of colloidal systems. The samples of this research were the student of SMAN 1 Seputih Mataram class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 3 at even semester year of 2012-2013. This research used quasi experiment method by Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The result of this research showed the average of provide a simple explanation skill n-Gain for control class and experimental class were 0,35 and 0,60 and the average of mastery concepts n-Gain for control class and experimental class were 0,54 and 0,63. Based on hypothesis testing, concluded that guided inquiry learning model was effective in increasing the provide a simple explanation skill and mastery of concepts.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing yang efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan memberikan penjelasan sederhana dan penguasaan konsep pada materi koloid.Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMAN 1 Seputih Mataram kelas XI IPA1 dan kelas XI IPA3 semester genap Tahun ajaran2012-2013.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non EquivalentControl Group Design.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata n-Gain keterampilan memberikan penjelasaan sederhana untuk kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen masing-masing 0,35 dan 0,60 dan reratan-Gain penguasaan konsep untuk kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen masing-masing 0,54 dan 0,63. Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effectiveness of scientific approach to improve the students sensitivity in chemical equilibrium subject matter. The research method that used was quasi experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this research were all students of class XI Science SMAN 1 Purbolinggo year 2013-2014. Sampling was done by purposive sampling and obtained class XI IPA 2 as experimental class and XI IPA 4 as control class. The effectiveness of scientific approach in the learning was showed by the significant n-gain difference between the experimental class and the control class. The result showed that average n-gain of students sensitivity in the control and experimental classes were 0,36 and 0,58 respectively. From the hypotesis testing, it was concluded that  scientific approach was effective to improve the students sensitivity in chemical equilibrium subject matter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pendekatan scientific dalam meningkatkan sensitivitas siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.  Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan  Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Purbolinggo semester ganjil Tahun 2013-2014.  Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling dan diperoleh kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 4 sebagai kelas kontrol.  Efektivitas pendekatan pada pembelajaran diukur berdasarkan perbedaan n-gain yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata n-gain sensitivitas untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing 0,36 dan 0,58.  Dari pengujian hipotesis, disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan scientific efektif dalam meningkatkan sensitivitas siswa pada pembelajaran kesetimbangan kimia. Kata kunci: kesetimbangan kimia, pendekatan scientific, sensitivitas.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain an effective instructional model increase interest  and concept’s mastery of XI science in acid-base of Arrhenius material. The population are the class of XI Science SMA Al Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung with XI IPA 2 as experiment class and XI 4 as control. This research method is a quasi-experimental pretest posttest control group design. The research’s results showed the average value of the index gain interest in the control and experimental classes respectively 0,34 and 0,49; and the mean index gain mastery of concepts for the control and experimental classes respectively 0,33 and 0,55. Based on hypothesis testing, it was concluded that learning through the class with LC 5E has an interest and mastery of concepts that is higher than learning conventional class. This suggests that the learning material through  LC 5E  is more effective in increasing students' interest and mastery of concepts.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh model pembelajaran yang afektif dalam meningkatkan minat dan penguasaan konsep asam-basa Arrhenius. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah selurush siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Al Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung dengan kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 4 kelas control. Metode penelitan ni adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan non equivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata indeks gain minat untuk kelas control dan eksperimen masing-masing 0,34 dan 0,49; dan rerata indeks gain penguasaan konsep untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing  0,33 dan 0,55. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan LC 5E lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran kon-vensional. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan LC 5E lebih efektif dalam me-ningkatkan minat dan penguasaaan konsep siswa.Kata kunci: Learning Cycle 5E (LC 5E), minat, penguasaan konsep

Abstract

This research purpose is to describ the experimental method effect in increasing critical thinking skills and thermochemistry concept mastery. This research is used quasi eksperimental method with pretest-posttest non equivalent control group design. The population of the research are XI science student from one of high school grade in Bandar Lampung. The Sampling used is cluster random sampling method obtained from XI science 5 as experimental class and XI science 7 as control class. The effectiveness of learning is by n-Gain average of critical thinking skills and thermochemistry concept mastery, and also supported with the effect size test, when n-Gain in experiment class higher than n-Gain in control class. The result of effec size test show the experimental class is 0,92 including in “big” category.  Based on that result, we can conclude that the experimental method effective in increasing critical thinking skills and students concept mastery on thermochemistry.Keyword : experiment method, critical thinking skills, concept mastery, thermochemistry.             Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh metode eksperimen dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi termokimia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi experiment dengan desain pretest-posttest non equivalent control group. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA salah satu SMA di Bandar Lampung. Abstract

Students who have different levels of cognitive ability then were given the same learning matery, those the critical thinking skills will be appropriate with the level of their cognitive ability. This research aimed to describe the ability of giving reason and interpreting a statement on the acid-base matery through the application of LC3E in each group.  The subject in this research was students of Grade XI Sains 4 Senior High School 12 Bandar Lampung Academic Year 2012/2013. This research was a descriptive research, used the pre-experimental method  with a one-shot case study design. Data analysis used descriptive analysis. Based on the result of data analysis summarized that ability of giving reason in high level group: almost all were excellent and the others were good. In  intermediate level group, almost all were good and the others were excellent.  In low level group, almost all were good and the others were good enough. The ability of  interpreting a statement in high level group: half were excellent, almost half were good, and the others were good enough. In intermediate level group, just small part were excellent, almost half were good and the others were good enough. Abstract

This research aimed todescribe the skills of  hipotesist and communication on colloidal material with application of guided inquiry learning model for high, medium, and low cognitive groups students. The subjects were XI Science 1 of Swadhipa Natar South Lampung 2012/2013. This research waspreexperimental research design with one-shot case study. It used descriptive analysis. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the students skill in hipotesist, in high group, 80% was excellent; and 20% good. In medium group, 16,67% was excellent;and 83,33%  good. In the low group, 10% was good; and 90% was enough. For the students skill of communicating, in high group, 60% was excellent; and 40% good. In medium group, 25% excellent; 58,33% good; and 16,67%  enough. In the low group, 30% good; and 70%  enough. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan merumuskan hipotesis dan mengkomunikasikan siswa pada materi koloid dengan model inkuri terbimbing kelompok kognitif tinggi, sedang, dan rendah.  Subyek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas XI IPA1 SMA Swadhipa Natar tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian inimerupakanpre-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one-shot case study. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif.  Hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam merumuskan hipotesis pada :kelompok tinggi 80% siswa berkriteria sangat baik, dan 20% baik;kelompok sedang 16,67% berkriteria sangat baik,dan 83,33% baik;kelompok rendah 10%berkriteria baik, dan90%cukup.Kemampuan siswa dalam mengkomunikasikan pada :kelompok tinggi 60% siswa berkriteria sangat baik, dan 40%baik;kelompok sedang 25% berkriteria sangat baik,58,33% baik, dan 16,67% cukup; kelompok rendah 30% berkriteria baik, dan 70 %cukup.Kata kunci : inkuiri terbimbing, mengkomunikasikan, merumuskan hipotesis

Abstract

This research purposes were to describe  characteristic of HOTS knowledge instrument assessment, describe teacher’s response, and describe studens’ response to HOTS knowledge instrument assessment. The research used method of research and development (RD) by Brog Gall, and the research subject was knowledge instrument assessment. The validation result was obtained percentage on aspects in suitability of content, readability, and construction were 92,30%; 88,33%; and 82,00%, respectively. The teacher’s response result was obtained on aspects in suitability of content, readability, and construction were 89,23%; 90%; and 90%, respectively. The results of students’ response to readability were 87.08 %, respectively. The results of this research indicate that knowledge assessment instrument is good and can be used it is seen from the reliability value and validity that have high category.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik, tanggapan guru dan respon siswa tehadap isnstrumen asesmen pengetahuan berbasis HOTS.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (RD) menurut Borg Gall, dengan subyek penelitian adalah instrumen asesmen pengetahuan. Berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli diperoleh persentase penilaian validator pada aspek keterbacaan, konstruk, dan kesesuaian isi sebesar 92,30%; 88,33%; dan 82,00%. Hasil respon guru pada aspek keterbacaan, konstruk, dan kesesuaian isi sebesar 89,23%; 90%; dan 90%.  Hasil respon siswa pada aspek keterbacaan sebesar 87,08%.  Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa instrumen asesmen pengetahuan sudah baik dan dapat digunakan hal ini dilihat dari nilai reliabilitas dan daya beda soal yang memiliki kategori tinggi.Kata kunci: istrumen, asesmen, keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi.
