Abstract

Multivariate time-series forecasting has become an essential component in energy systems and industrial monitoring applications, where changing data distributions and temporal non-stationarity reduce the reliability of point predictions alone for decision-making purposes. This study investigates multi-horizon forecasting on the ETTh1 benchmark with oil temperature (OT) as the prediction target. The research focuses on two key challenges: integrating short-term pattern extraction with long-range temporal dependency modeling in a lightweight forecasting framework, and providing distribution-free uncertainty estimation that remains reliable under temporal drift conditions. To address these issues, a hybrid forecasting architecture is proposed by combining a causal dilated Temporal Convolutional Network (TCN) for local feature extraction and a Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) layer for modeling longer sequential dependencies. The model simultaneously predicts four forecasting horizons 96, 192, 336, and 720 steps using multivariate observations and temporal features from a fixed historical window. For uncertainty estimation, time-aware conformal prediction is implemented through chronological train, calibration, and test partitions. The study compares conventional static conformal intervals with an adaptive rolling approach that dynamically updates horizon-specific quantiles based on recent residual patterns. Experimental results on the ETTh1 dataset demonstrate that the proposed hybrid model achieves superior forecasting accuracy compared with standalone TCN and GRU baselines, obtaining an MAE of 4.615 and RMSE of 5.382 for OT prediction. Furthermore, the adaptive conformal strategy improves empirical coverage from 0.790 to 0.870 while maintaining a relatively moderate increase in prediction interval width. A threshold-based decision-support mechanism utilizing the predictive upper bound is also introduced to illustrate how calibrated uncertainty intervals can support practical trade-offs between false alarms and missed detections. Overall, the proposed framework offers an efficient and reproducible solution for uncertainty-aware multi-horizon forecasting in dynamic environments.

Abstract

Decision-making processes often need summaries that are concise, accurate, and easy to verify. However, neural abstractive summarization models may produce unsupported information or hallucinations. This study explores citation-constrained multi-document summarization using the Multi-News dataset, where each important statement in the summary is connected to a supporting sentence through citation markers such as [S1] and [S2]. The proposed method applies an evidence-grounded pipeline consisting of sentence segmentation, Top-K evidence retrieval using BM25 or dense embedding methods, and a BART-based model for generating citation-aware summaries. Since the Multi-News dataset does not provide citation annotations, silver-standard citation labels are created using TF-IDF cosine similarity. An optional alignment filtering process is also applied to reduce weakly supported content. The evaluation process includes ROUGE scores, citation precision and coverage, as well as consistency checks for entities and numerical information. Experimental results on a small reproducible dataset show that the proposed approach can generate summaries with measurable citation quality while maintaining ROUGE performance comparable to non-citation models. Overall, this framework improves transparency and supports more reliable and auditable summarization under limited computational resources.

Abstract

User-generated Indonesian text frequently exhibits code-mixing with English (“Indonglish”), informal spelling, elongation, and keyboard typos. These phenomena break subword tokeniza tion assumptions and may degrade multilingual Transformer performance in deployment. This paper studies a hybrid representation that fuses XLM-R sentence features with a character-level CharCNN branch designed to capture orthographic patterns and mitigate character noise. We evaluate (i) a standard XLM-R fine-tuning baseline, (ii) an ablation that removes the character branch (NusaX only), and (iii) the proposed hybrid model on two datasets: NusaX-Senti (12 regional languages) and Indonglish (Indonesian–English code-mixed sentiment). Beyond clean test performance, we introduce a controlled robustness protocol by injecting character-level perturbations with probability p=0.18 and measuring performance drop. Results show that the XLM-R baseline achieves the best clean Macro-F1 on both datasets, while the hybrid model substantially improves robustness on Indonglish by reducing Macro-F1 drop from 0.030 to 0.007 under noise. We analyze common error confusions and discuss when character-aware features help or harm across languages.

Abstract

Food recognition systems are commonly developed under the assumption that training labels are fully accurate. In real-world applications, however, food image datasets frequently contain noisy annotations caused by incorrect user inputs, weak labeling mechanisms, or automated data collection processes. This study investigates the robustness of supervised food recognition under synthetic label noise using the Food-101 dataset Food-101. The research employs EfficientNet-B0 as a computationally efficient backbone model and compares conventional cross-entropy learning with a robust training approach that integrates two mechanisms: (1) small-loss sample reweighting to reduce the influence of potentially corrupted samples, and (2) an early-learning stopping strategy based on the memorization gap between noisy training accuracy and clean validation accuracy. Symmetric label noise levels of 20% and 40% are introduced only into the training data, while validation and testing datasets remain unaffected. Experimental results on a 20-class subset demonstrate that the proposed approach substantially improves clean test accuracy from 0.6476 to 0.8176 under 20% noise and from 0.5636 to 0.6928 under 40% noise. In addition, probability calibration performance measured by Expected Calibration Error (ECE) is improved from 0.1474 to 0.0813 at the 40% noise setting. Additional experiments on the complete 101-class dataset also reveal consistent performance improvements despite shorter training durations. The findings suggest that combining loss-aware sample weighting with memorization-aware early stopping can provide an efficient and practical solution for building robust and reliable food recognition models in noisy-label environments.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has encouraged religious organizations to adopt information systems to improve service effectiveness for congregation members. HKBP Petojo Church in Jakarta still delivers service information manually through verbal announcements, printed media, and unintegrated social media, which risks delays and miscommunication. This research designs and develops a web-based Church Service Information System to centralize the management of church service information and facilitate congregation members' access to it. The system was built using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, comprising Requirements Planning, User Design, Construction, and Cutover stages, with Laravel as the backend framework, Vue.js as the user interface, and MySQL as the database. Two user roles are accommodated: Church Admin and congregation. The Admin can manage congregation data, schedules, announcements, bulletins, galleries, and church profiles, while congregation members can access worship schedules, announcements, church history, galleries, and bulletins. Testing was conducted manually using Black Box Testing across 27 scenarios, all successful, yielding a 100% success rate. The results show that the system fulfills the functional requirements and provides a centralized, easily accessible medium for church service information.

Abstract

Abstract

Correspondence administration in Wonowoso Village relied on conventional procedures that lacked an integrated digital workflow for citizen submissions and administrative records. This study aimed to develop a web-based correspondence service information system to support more orderly village administration. Development comprised requirements mapping, system design, implementation, and functional verification. The application was built using Node.js, Express.js, EJS, MongoDB, and Mongoose, with Multer, express-session, bcryptjs, and Nodemailer supporting document uploads, administrator sessions, password security, and rejection notifications, respectively. Verification combined source-code inspection, desktop interface rendering, and examination of a MongoDB backup snapshot. The developed system provides four service types and connects citizen submissions with administrator processing through Pending, Approved, and Rejected statuses. Citizens can review service requirements, complete application forms, and upload supporting documents, while administrators can examine applications, assign letter numbers, preview letters, approve requests, and record reasons for rejection. The database snapshot contained four applications: one Approved and three Rejected. The system supports a more organized administrative workflow through centralized records, online submissions, and structured status management. Its contribution to administrative efficiency is therefore limited to workflow-level support; quantitative improvements were not established because pre–post service-time measurements and user usability testing were unavailable. The study provides a practical basis for refining digital village services and conducting broader field evaluations of efficiency and usability.
