Abstract

Mount Merapi is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. The major eruptions happened in 1768, 1822, 1849, 1872, and the most recently in 2010. Three health centers are situated at the foot of Mount Merapi, with a high risk of potential disasters, ranging from eruptions and cold lava flows to landslides. To maintain service quality and effective disaster response, this study aimed to provide evaluation material for optimizing service quality and assessing the readiness level of these health centers. The research used a quantitative analysis method, collecting numerical data to outline the preparedness level of the three health centers: Puskesmas Pakem, Puskesmas Turi, and Puskesmas Cangkringan. The results, achieved through manual calculations, indicated that Puskesmas Pakem exhibited the highest functional preparedness with a score of 0.45, categorized as "moderate." Puskesmas Turi scored 0.40, also categorized as "moderate." On the other hand, Puskesmas Cangkringan scored 0.24, falling into the "low" category. In conclusion, two health centers fell into the "moderate" category, which means the risks to the safety of staff and patients persisted, necessitating future interventions. Meanwhile, one health center fell into the "low" category, signifying its inability to function optimally during disasters and requiring immediate interventions

Abstract

Introduction: Lung cancer is characterized by high mortality rates and poor prognosis, further requiring alternative therapies owing to the adverse effects of conventional chemotherapy. Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) has antimicrobial, antiproliferative, and antioxidant properties and can cure cancer. Method: Compounds from rambutan peel were identified through PubChem and analyzed for physicochemical properties using SwissADME. Target proteins were identified using SuperPred and compared with lung cancer–related proteins from GeneCards via Venny. Protein interactions were examined and visualized using STRING and Cytoscape, respectively. Protein activity was analyzed using WebGestalt, and docking simulations were performed using Autodock 4.2.6. Result: Physicochemical analysis of 10 active rambutan compounds via SwissADME showed favorable properties based on Lipinski’s rule, suggesting good oral bioavailability. In total, 276 specific target proteins were related to lung cancer. Cytoscape visualized the 53 core proteins implicated in lung cancer. Gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analyses indicated that rambutan compounds are active in lung cancer pathways, particularly nonsmall cell lung cancer. The analysis identified the top 10 interacting proteins STAT3 and CASP3 had the highest interaction value of 28, followed by PIK3CA and NFKB1 at 22, MAPK3, PIK3R1, PTGS2, GRB2, MAPK1, and CASP8. Per docking simulations, 1,2-diphenylethane-1-ol was the highest affinity to STAT3 (−4.78) and CASP3 (−6.75). Conclusion: Rambutan peel compounds have remarkable anticancer potential, particularly with high affinity for STAT3 and CASP3 proteins, based on in silico molecular docking studies.

Abstract

Obesity occurs due to excess energy stored in body fat tissue, resulting from an imbalance between energy intake and expenditure. In adolescence, obesity is a multifactorial health problem influenced by genetic, behavioral, environmental, and social factors, and is a known risk factor for hypertension. The pathogenesis of hypertension in obese individuals involves abnormal adipose tissue activity in producing hormones and adipokines, although the mechanisms are not yet fully understood. Several studies have linked obesity to hypertension, but mostly in adult populations, where the indicators for obesity differ from those for adolescents and children. In younger populations, overweight or obesity assessment should be based on BMI-for-age charts adjusted for sex, yet studies in adolescents often still use adult criteria. This study aimed to determine the association between obesity and hypertension among adolescents in Ponorogo. An observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design was conducted using data from the 2024 PASHMINA (Pelayanan Kesehatan Remaja Milik NA) health screening program organized by Regional Board of Nasyiatul Aisyiyah of Ponorogo among senior high school students. A total of 179 respondents participated, with 65.9% female and 65.4% having normal nutritional status. The overall prevalence of hypertension was 6.1%, while obesity prevalence was 12.8%. Hypertension was more common in obese adolescents (26.1%) compared to non-obese adolescents (3.2%), with obesity increasing the risk of hypertension by 10.66 times (p < 0.001). These findings highlight the need for appropriate obesity assessment methods in adolescents and the importance of nutrition education, promotion of physical activity, early detection, and regular health monitoring to prevent hypertension from an early age.

Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the[-6pc]AU: Please provide affiliations for your paper. leading causes of death for women worldwide, characterized by malignant tumors in the mammary epithelium. Breast cancer modelling using Sprague Dawley animals induced by N-Methyl-N-Nitrosourea (MNU) compounds is commonly used through various administration routes. The intraperitoneal route is the conventional route and the intraductal route is a new route capable of directly targeting the mammary ducts. Both routes affect the speed and characteristics of breast cancer cells in experimental animals. This systematic review using PubMed and Scopus databases from 2014-2024 aims to compare the effects of intraperitoneal and intraductal administration routes on breast cancer induction and the similarities in histopathological characteristics and biomarkers with human breast cancer cells. Of the 324 articles, 15 met the inclusion criteria showing that the intraductal route induces tumors faster (6–8 weeks) with Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS) type, ER+/PgR+ expression, and low Ki-67 index, resembling the luminal A subtype. The intraperitoneal route requires 8–12 weeks, producing multiple tumors with a high Ki-67 index, resembling luminal B. Administration of additional substances such as PF4, white tea, and physical activity are anti-tumorigenic, while radiation and a high-fat diet are pro-tumorigenic. Therefore, the intraductal route can be used as the main choice in selecting the route of administration of MNU induction.

Abstract

Most cataract surgery is done by phacoemulsification method. Phacoemulsification cataract surgery with horizontal chop and vertical chop techniques is quite effective until now. In cataract surgery, generally used topical anesthetic pantocaine 0.5% (tetracaine 0.5%) to control pain in patients. This research aims to compare pain perception using a numeric rating scale in grade 3 cataracts operated by the phaco-horizontal-chop versus vertical-chop technique. This study is a comparative analytical study with a total of 87 subjects, consisting of 45 subjects undergoing surgery with the horizontal-chop technique, and 43 subjects with the vertical-chop technique. All patients were given the same topical anesthetic, pantocaine 0,5%. After the operation done, each subject will be asked about their pain perception using a numerical rating scale parameter. Then, the data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis using chi-square. Among the 87 patients, mean pain scale in this study was 3.51, with a median value of 3.00. The minimum value of the pain scale was 1 while the maximum value was 6. The results showed that there was no significant relationship to pain experienced by patients undergoing phacoemulsification cataract surgery with the horizontal-chop technique compared with the vertical-chop (p = 1,000).
