Abstract

Adoption of Kawasan Rumah Pangan Lestari Innovation by Pangan Sari Woman Farming Group at Peguyangan Kangin village, North Denpasar Kawasan Rumah Pangan Lestari is a yard utilization model of friendly agriculture cultivation that designed for fulfilling the family food needs, food diversification based of local resources, the future crops preservation, and people income enhancement to improve people welfare. The purposes of this research is to find out the Kawasan Rumah pangan Lestari adoption process and its level by using descriptive qualitative analisys and measuring the likert scale. The study found the adoption process is began from awareness, insterest, evalualuation, trial, confirmation and finally to adoption stage. The adoption level of Kawasan Rumah Pangan Lestari innovation by Pangan Sari woman farming group classified to medium level with 65,5% from the maximum score. The research recommend the farmer to adopt the inovation in accordance with the technical guidance. In addition, the government and other stakeholders have to continue motivating their people to improve their welfare.

Abstract

Competence of the Companion Simantri during theTrichoderma Innovation Diffusion which Located in FarmersSri Uma, Takmung village, Banjarangkan, KlungkungAn integrated agricultural system (Simantri) is a breakthrough effort toaccelerate the adoption of agricultural technology because it is developed from apilot model in accelerating the transfer of technology to the rural communities.Since its introduction in 2009, there were Simantri which not able to improve thewelfare of Balinese people because of the lack of assistance. Problem that is oftenencountered as a companion attendant is the lack of competence of the attendant indiffusion process of the technological innovation. The aim of this study is todiscover the competence of the companion Simantri during the Trichodermainnovation diffusion which located in Farmers Sri Uma, Takmung village. Themethod used in this study is descriptive qualitative analysis method. The variableused in this study is a companion competence. The results showed that thecompetency of the companions in the diffusion of Trichoderma innovation isclassified in the excellent category, with a score of 86.68% from the maximumscore. The suggestion from this study is in addition to understanding thetechnological innovation that will be diffused, the companion must also understandthe capabilities of Simantri members since the differences in educational levels ofSimantri members.

Abstract

Subak Problems in The Tourism Area of Subak Teges of Ubud Sub-District, Gianyar Regency The rapid development of tourism in the Ubud area raises problems for local people including the condition of agriculture in the area, one of which is happeningin Subak. Subak Teges is an agricultural irrigation organization located in Peliatan Village, which is influenced by tourism development. The development of tourism facilities caused problems to Subak Teges. The problem becomes a threat to the sustainability of subak. The problems arising from tourism are assessed based on three aspects including religious, social and environmental dimensions (Tri Hita Karana). The research location was in Subak Teges, Peliatan, Ubud. The purpose of this study is to describe the problem of subak in the tourism area of Subak Teges, Ubud Sub-District, Gianyar Regency. The analytical method used is qualitative descriptive analysis.The results showed that parahyangan or spiritual aspects did not experience problems. While the human aspect of pawongan and palemahan or spatial aspect have undergone problems due to the agricultural land conversion into tourism facilities. Suggestions that can be given related to the problems is that the stakeholders should enact any rules on the governance of agricultural land, it needs to cooperate with the indigenous Village of Pakraman in managing waste and the need for an intensive supervision of tourism waste.

Abstract

Abstract Farmers’ Motivation in Horticultural Farming in Candikuning Tourism Village, Baturiti Subdistrict, Tabanan Regency Horticultural farming in tourism destination is supposedly influenced by motivation who are able to encourage themselves who are not included in farmer community to carry out holticultural farming activities in the Candikuning Tourism Village. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of farmers’ motivation who are not included in farmer community in terms of intrinsic and extrinsic aspect in Horticultural Farming in Candikuning Tourism Village. The results show that the level of farmers’ motivation falls into high category with an average score of 3.67 (73.44%) of the total maximum score. This is supported by the intrinsic motivation included in the high category with an average score of 3.91 (78.34%) of the total maximum score and extrinsic motivation included in the high category with an average score of 3.42 (68.53%) of the total maximum score. So that the level of farmers’ motivation in horticultural farming is high. The agricultural extension workers that assist the farming activity in Candikuning Village should counsel the farmers actively. The farmers should form a farmer’s forum in order to facilitate them to gain information about their farming activity. Abstract

Strategies to Promote Organic Solid Fertilizer Business in Simantri 103 of Serongga Kelod, Serongga Village, Gianyar Sub-District, Gianyar Regency Integrated Farming System (Simantri) is one of the leading programs of Bali Provincial Government to improve agriculture in order to support the Bali Mandara program. The purpose of this research is to investigate the internal and external environment factors found in solid organic fertilizer business at Simantri 103 of Serongga Kelod, Serongga Village, Gianyar Subdistrict, Gianyar Regency and to analyze the strategy to revive solid organic fertilizer business at Simantri 103 Serongga Kelod, Serongga Village, Sub-District of Gianyar, Gianyar Regency. Results of internal factor analysis of Simantri 103: a) strength (availability of adequate raw material and ownership of organic fertilizer processing facility is the most influential factor) b) weakness (lack of capital and lack of land of organic fertilizer processing in Simantri still become the main factor of weakness at Simantri 103). External factors: a) opportunities (development of organic fertilizer business in Simantri is an important factor) b) threat (competition with inorganic fertilizers is a threat in the development of solid organic fertilizer business). Based on the SWOT analysis, it was found that the alternative strategy that became the priority was the strategy to revive or improve the production of solid organic fertilizer. QSPM analysis results show that the strategy that has the biggest attraction score is the product development strategy. Suggestions that can be given is to fix the biggest weaknesses such as lack of capital and to pay attention to opportunities such as the trust of the financial institution.

Abstract

Subak Sembung Development Strategy As A Tourist Attraction In The Urban Area Tourism development in Bali is culture-based tourism. One of them is Subak SembungEcotourism which is located in Peguyangan Village, North Denpasar District, DenpasarMuniciplity. Its strategic location in the city center makes Subak Sembung facechallenges in land conversion. Development efforts needed to make Subak Sembung atourist attraction as well as a traditional organization in agriculture. The purpose of thisstudy was to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of SubakSembung, formulate alternative strategies, and determine priority strategies to developSubak Sembung as a tourist attraction in urban areas. The results of the SWOT matrixproduced several alternative strategies, namely market expansion, collaboration withgovernment and external entrepreneurs, developing agricultural-based touristattractions, holding promotions, arousing agricultural activities and religious rituals,development efforts that were in accordance with the awig-awig of subak, formingmanagement bodies of ecotourism, and selective in developing tourism facilities. Thepriority strategy based on QSPM analysis was to establish an ecotourism managementbody so that Subak Sembung could be developed with better facilities. Subak membertogether with the government and other stakeholders must take advantage of theopportunities and strengths they have in order to minimize the weaknesses and threatsfaced by Subak Sembung. Based on the results of the study, the suggestion that can bemade is to form a more creative ecotourism management body so that the appreciationand activities of the community can be developed for the sustainability of Ecotourism inSubak Sembung.

Abstract

The Survival Strategies of Subak in the Tourism Area (in the Case of Subak of Semujan, Subdistrict of Ubud, Regency of Gianyar) Subak Semujan is a subak located in Ubud tourism center, now it is threatened by tourism itself. From 2012 to 2016 Subak Semujan has undergone land conversion of 15 hectares. This decrease is due to the conversion of agricultural land into tourism facilities such as hotels, bungalows, restaurants, and villas. The purpose of this research is to design the survival strategies of Subak of Semujan in the tourism area. Result of internal factor analysis Subak Semujan: a) strength: religious ceremony, awig-awig and pararem (traditional customs and rules), b) weakness: lack of interest of the farmers' children in the agricultural field, adopting lower innovation or technology. External factors: a) opportunities: social assistance and rice production facilities, farming extension, b) threats: tourism businesses require agricultural land, tourism employment opportunities. Based on the SWOT analysis, survival strategies are: a) S-O strategy of agricultural extension activities to be able to maintain agriculture in tourism area and to promote farming activities in the form of tour packages, b) S-T strategy: to make special rules related to land conversion and irrigation channel (awig- awig), c) W-O strategy: education and training through extension in adopting new innovations, agricultural extension for the younger generation, d) W-T Strategy: giving material and non-material incentives to the members of subak.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Comparison between Farmers Household Income in The Subak of Tourism and Non Tourism Area Household income of farmers in the area of subak in tourism and non tourism is different. Diversity of household income of farmers in Subak tourism and non-tourism areas makes it worthy to be known in order to see the effect of tourism on agriculture, especially subak development. The research objective is to determine the ratio of household income from agriculture and non-agricultural sectors in the subak of tourism and non tourism area. Total income of farm households in the subak areas of tourism and non-tourism income derived from agriculture and non-farm sector income. Income households in the tourist areas of the agricultural sector amounted to 14.39% while the non-agricultural sector amounted to 85.61%. The households’ income in non-tourism areas of the agricultural sector amounted to 35.64%. Research shows total income of farm households in the area of ??tourism and non-tourism is different. It can be seen from the t- test with a significance value of 0.000 with a t-value of 4.003. Subak farmers in the tourism area are  expected to set aside revenue from non agricultural sector to increase income from non-agricultural sector, farmers in the non tourism a part from relying on the main livelihood from agriculture  they also rely on non-agricultural sector as side income so that livelihoods of farmers' household income increased, members farming households are expected to remain as in average farmers have started entering unproductive age so the need for regeneration is highly required. Abstract

Branding becomes inevitable in sales promotion strategy of products and services in the era of globalization. However, the difficult challenge of agricultural products branding related to standardization because it involves a biological process that can not be fully controlled. Moreover, if the intended target market is specific to the tourism market.This paper discusses branding strategy used by agribusiness company PT. Hatten Bali in promoting wine processed "Hatten Wines" for the tourism market in Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations technique and were analyzed by descriptive qualitative method. PT. Hatten Bali uses three strategies of branding ot its wines pruducts, namely: (1) producer branding (Hatten Wines Aga White, Hatten Wines Aga Red, Hatten Wines Alexandria, Hatten Wines Rose, Hatten Wines Sparkling Tunjung, and Hatten Wines Sparkling Jepun), (2) retail branding (Dragonfly Moscato and Two Island), and (3) geographical branding (Pino de Bali and Dewi Sri). All three branding strategies have differences in agricultural raw material processed, the target market, and typology of use in order to meet the company's sales target. Branding strategy proved to be applicable and effective used in processed agricultural products sales promotion strategies just like used in manufacturing products and other services. Agribusiness entrepreneurs should consider the use of branding in sales promotion to better compete with competitors.

Abstract

Seed is essential support farming success. Availability it required support agricultural development. The purpose this study to analyze direct and indirect effects farmers characteristics, motivation and role of assistant on the behavior breeder farmers and their influence on the availability rice seeds. The study conducted in Tabanan Regency. Data collection done from March to June 2019. The number of population 142 rice breeders with respondent 59 rice breeders. The number of respondents determined using Slovin formula. Analysis tool used SmartPLS version 3.0. The results of study showed farmers characteristics, motivation, and role of assistant had a significant effect on the behavior breeder farmers. Moreover, seed availability was affected by role of assistant, yet farmers characteristics and motivation had no notable effect on it. However, the indirect influence farmers characteristics, motivation and role of assistant not significant to seed availability through the behavior breeder farmers. From this study, it’s suggested that 1) to maintain availability rice seeds in Tabanan Regency, role of assistant for farmers cultivate in own fields is optimized according to their respective duties and functions. 2) Role of assistant are role subak, PPL, BPSBTPH, breeders, and the local agriculture office 3) To improve the financial ability local breeders to buy prospective seeds produced by breeder farmers.
