Abstract

This study aims to improve mastery of the concept of elasticity and Hooke's law in class XI IPA-1 SMA Negeri 6 Ambon with a cooperative learning model of think pair share type. This type of research is descriptive research with one group pretest-posttest design. The students used as samples in this study were 23 people obtained using a random sampling technique. Research data were collected using test instruments in the form of initial tests and final tests. The results showed that 100% of students' initial concept mastery ability was in the failing category, with an average score of 8,43. After applying the learning model, the average final test score is 91,48 with very good qualifications. This condition causes the average result of the N-Gain test to be an indicator of increasing students' concept mastery to 0,91 in the high category. Thus, using the cooperative learning model type think pair share can improve the mastery of elasticity and Hooke's law in class XI IPA SMAN 6 Ambon students.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of load mass on the damping coefficient of liquid substances such as water, cooking oil, and oil. The load masses used are 71 grams, 81 grams, 91 grams, and 101 grams. This study employs an experimental method with a damped oscillation analysis approach aided by Origin software. The research results indicate a significant influence of load mass on the frequency (Hz) and damping coefficient (γ) values of the liquid substance, where the larger the load mass, the higher the frequency (Hz) and damping coefficient (γ) values of the liquid substance. The study also examines the damping constants of each liquid substance. The results show that the damping constants of each liquid substance, namely water, cooking oil, and oil, are respectively 0.049 kg/s, 0.107 kg/s, and 0.201 kg/s.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to find out if the Jigsaw type I cooperative learning model helps grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Kairatu learn more about motion and force. We classify this research as a descriptive quantitative type, with the aim of presenting an accurate picture or scenario of the mastery profile of physics material. This study employed a one-group pre-test and post-test research design. This study utilized grade VIII as its sample, comprising a total of 21 students. Researchers collected data for this study using both test and non-test instruments. Researchers utilized test instruments for both the initial and final tests. This instrument includes 15 multiple-choice questions and 10 description questions, in addition to non-tests in the form of student worksheets (LKPD), which are designed to evaluate cognitive aspects of learning. The initial test results revealed that 100% of students failed, with an average achievement score of 43.29. The maximum achievement score was 57.14, while the minimum was 28.57. The analysis of material mastery during the Jigsaw type I learning process reveals that the average achievement score of students is 89.52, indicating a good qualification. After learning, students' abilities demonstrate a significant change. The average score for students' material mastery achievement was 86.70, indicating a good qualification level. The N-Gain test results yielded a score of 0.75, positioning the students in the high category. Therefore, grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Kairatu can enhance their understanding of motion and force material by implementing the Jigsaw type I cooperative learning model.

Abstract

A smartphone-based diffraction pattern experiment using a TV remote control has been successfully designed to estimate the width of a CD grating. This innovative experiment not only provides a hands-on learning experience but also has practical implications for physics education. A smartphone can be used as a screen to record and save diffraction patterns, and a TV remote control can be used as a source of infrared light. CDs can replace gratings, making the experiment efficient and accessible. The determination of the infrared wavelength of the TV remote control using a 300 line/mm grid and a 600 line/mm grid resulted in 946.67 nm and 859.33 nm, respectively. A positive linear relationship was found between the distance from the grid to the screen L and the distance from the centre light to the first light p, where the bigger L, the bigger p. Estimating the CD grating width using the infrared wavelength value of 946.67 nm, it was found that the CD grating width was 1632.19 nm. Furthermore, using a wavelength of 859.33 nm, it was found that the CD lattice width was 1481.68 nm, close to the actual CD lattice width.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how well eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 39 Central Maluku learn vibration and wave topics when they are taught using the Learning Cycle 5E model and learning videos. The research design used was a one-group pretest-posttest, with 16 students used as research subjects. The instruments used in collecting data for this study consisted of test instruments in the form of test questions and non-tests in the form of Learner Worksheets (LKPD). The study's results indicate that the material mastery ability of all students (100%) falls into the failing qualification category, with an average score of 20.54. The analysis reveals that students achieve an average score of 78,60 during the learning process, indicating a good qualification. The results of the N-Gain Test show that the average score of students is 0.70, which is a high qualification. The results showed that there was an increase in students' mastery of material in each indicator of competency achievement, with an average final score of 75.71. This means that using the Learning Cycle 5E model along with learning videos has been shown to help all of the students at SMP Negeri 39 Central Maluku learn more about vibration and waves.
