Abstract

There is a deadly cardiovascular disease that can cause swelling of the Abdominal Aorta. This disease is known as Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA). AAA is believed to be a degenerative process caused by genetic factors, gender, body weight, and age. Changes in collagen and elastin in the aortic wall are the cause of the degeneration process. Therefore, it will cause dilatation of the aortic wall. Swelling of the aortic blood vessels will affect the blood flow velocity in the aortic blood vessels. This research aims to analyze the velocity of blood flow in the Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm based on swelling diameter, proximal neck length, and aneurysm channel length using Computational Fluids Dynamics (CFD). The blood flow velocity was modeled using mathematical language based on mass continuity equations and momentum equations.  Then the finite volume method was one method to solve the mathematical model. MATLAB and ANSYS FLUENT software were used to simulate the velocity of blood flow analysis. The results of the research were shown that the larger the diameter and swelling channel length, the smaller the velocity of blood flow produced. Then, the greater the length of the proximal neck, the faster the resulting blood flow will be.

Abstract

Gomory cutting plane method is one of the methods in linear programming that is needed to solve integer programming when the decision obtained is in the form of fractions with the addition of constraint known as gomory constraint. The purpose of this research is to determine the best optimum solution by maximizing the profit of batik production using the gomory cutting plane method. This type of research is applied research using a quantitative approach. Data collection methods used are interviews and documentation. This research is focused on four kinds of Jember batik motifs which are the best-selling, namely mbako semak batik cloth; sekar jagad batik cloth; kopi daun batik cloth; and parakopi batik cloth. The results showed that there was an increase in profit of or per production when using the simplex method assisted by QM for Windows V5 software. Meanwhile, to make batik cloth, integer values are needed in the form of integers. Therefore, the application of gomory cutting plane method in optimizing the profit of batik production is very appropriate to use with the obtained maximum settlement of which occurs when sheets, sheets, sheets, and sheets.

Abstract

Atherosclerosis is the narrowing of blood vessels caused by the buildup of cholesterol plaque on the walls of the arteries. Excessive buildup of cholesterol plaque disrupts the circulatory system, thereby affecting the speed and pressure of blood flow. In the long term, atherosclerosis can cause ischemic heart disease. This study aims to analyze the influence of stenosis, initial velocity, and diameter on the velocity and pressure of blood flow in narrowed arteries that cause ischemic heart disease. In this research, a Navier Stoke mathematical equation model was built which was solved using the finite volume method with SIMPLE discretization (Semi Implicit Method for Pressure Linked Equations). Finite volume methods are used to analyze unstructured objects such as blood flow. SIMPLE discretization is implemented simply in two and three dimensions with a system of equations containing fluid motion. Matlab and Fluent are software used for process simulations, Matlab for visualizing graphs of numerical calculation results, and Fluent for visualizing blood flow. Based on the simulation results, it can be concluded that the smaller the diameter, the greater the stenosis, and the greater the initial velocity, the greater the blood flow velocity. On the contrary, the diameter gets smaller, the stenosis gets bigger, and the initial velocity gets bigger so that the pressure on the blood flow gets smaller. Blood flow simulation has the potential to contain ischemic heart disease if the maximum speed produced is greater than the maximum normal blood speed, namely 0.45 m/s.
