Abstract

Poktan Rahayu is a farmer group in Bunton Village, Wagir District, Malang Regency, which is capable of producing 200 tons of rice each harvest. However, abundant harvests are not balanced by good post-harvest processing. This was caused by the performance of the rice grinding machine previously owned by Poktan Rahayu which was outdated so that the milling produced incomplete rice. Unhulled rice does not attract market share, thus, Poktan Rahayu usually sell their harvest in the form of unhulled rice, which is half the price of rice. The aim of carrying out this service activity is to improve the quality of the Poktan Rahayu harvest processing results through the application of a 2 in 1 rice mill machine. The implementation of this activity is carried out through a training process and science and technology substitution. The results of this activity show an increase in the quality of milled rice. Apart from producing good quality and marketable rice, milling by-products such as bran and rice bran can also be utilized by Poktan Rahayu members.ABSTRAKPoktan Rahayu merupakan kelompok tani di Desa Bunton, Kecamatan Wagir, Kabupaten Malang, yang mampu menghasilkan padi sebanyak 200 ton setiap kali panen. Akan tetapi, hasil panen yang melimpah tidak diimbangi dengan pengolahan pasca panen yang baik. Hal ini disebabkan oleh performa mesin selep padi yang dimiliki oleh Poktan Rahayu sebelumnya sudah usang sehingga hasil selepannya menghasilkan beras yang tidak utuh. Tentunya beras yang tidak utuh tidak diminati pangsa pasar sehingga biasanya para anggota Poktan Rahayu menjual hasil panen mereka dalam bentuk gabah, yang mana harganya separuh dari harga beras. Tujuan dari pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kualitas hasil pengolahan panen Poktan Rahayu melalui aplikasi mesin selep padi 2 in 1. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilaksanakan melalui proses pelatihan dan substitusi ipteks. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kualitas beras hasil selepan. Selain menghasilkan beras dengan kualitas baik dan layak jual, hasil samping selepan seperti dedak dan bekatul juga dapat dimanfaatkan oleh anggota Poktan Rahayu.

Abstract

Medium carbon steel is a kind of material that is usually used in manufacturing axles, gears and shaft. The application of medium carbon steel to axles, gears and shaft requires high hardness on the surface, but high ductility at the core. The mechanical properties of this material can be improved through a heat treatment process. However, in mass production there is obstacles, which is the uneven hardness on the entire surface, thus, it does not meet the hardness standards set as a commercial product. Therefore, cryogenic treatment was added which aimed to maintain the hardness value of the material after heat treatment. The material used in this research was S45C steel. The heat treatment conducted to increase the hardness of S45C steel was hardening followed by tempering. Hardening was carried out at a temperature of 900 with a holding time of 45 minutes, followed by rapid cooling (quenching) using dromus oil as a medium. Tempering was carried out at 450 for 15 minutes. Cryogenic treatment was carried out at -190 for 1 hour. The research results showed that the highest hardness was obtained in specimens with hardening-quenching treatment followed by cryogenics with a hardness value of 35 HRC (core) and 35.8 HRC (surface). The hardness test results were in line with the microstructure test results., where the microstructure of specimens that had hardening-quenching treatment followed by cryogenics were dominated by pearlite, thus the hardness value were high.

Abstract

Aluminum-silicon alloys are widely used in the industrial world, one of which is because they have high wear resistance. The aim of this research is to determine the physical and mechanical properties of the Al-Si alloy after strengthening by mixing reinforcing materials. The research method uses Taguchi optimization and analysis of the physical properties of the Al-Si alloy test results. The results showed that the highest hardness value was obtained in the 7th experiment, namely with a rotation variation of 2000 rpm, temperature of 6000C, and holding time of 60 seconds. This result is in line with the results of the tensile strength test, where the highest tensile strength was also obtained in the 7th experiment. This result is supported by the results of other researchers, which show that the higher the rotation in the casting results in higher hardness. The results of the microphotographs show that all alloy materials have an even distribution of grains, the grain size appears small, and the dendrites in the raw Al-Si alloy appear small compared to other materials. The macro photo results show that all alloy materials have fractures that appear brittle, as evidenced by the fact that these fractures provide light reflection.

Abstract

Technological developments in the modern era have experienced quite a significant increase, one of which is the combustion motorbike. Several things that are of concern to continue to be developed in combustion engines are the fuel system, ignition system and valve mechanism. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of variations in throttle and valve load on petrol and diesel engines to determine the performance of these engines. The method used in this research is an experimental method by providing throttle variations and valve load variations on petrol and diesel motorbikes. The results of this research are that on petrol motorbikes the throttle changes with a fixed load at Pi, Pm, Ni, Ne, Nm, Qe, ηe, and ηi. There is a correlation between rotation and throttle, where the higher the rotation and the larger the throttle, the higher the value of the throttle. Pi, Pm, Ni, Ne, Nm, Qe, ηe, and ηi. In diesel motors Pi, Pm, Ni, Ne, Nm, Gs, Gg, Qb, Qeg, Qe, Qpp, ηe, and ηi There is a correlation between rotation and throttle, where the higher the rotation and the larger the throttle, the higher the value of Pi. , Pm, Ni, Ne, Nm, Gs, Gg, Qb, Qeg, Qe, Qpp, ηe, and ηi.

Abstract

Upaya untuk membiasakan hidup bersih dan sehat sangat penting untuk meningkatkan derajat kesehatan masyarakat. Beberapa strategi yang dapat dilakukan untuk membiasakan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat adalah memberikan penyuluhan serta pemeriksaan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, kesadaran dan potensi pola perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat bagi warga Desa Poncokusumo, Malang. Kegiatan ini melibatkan partisipasi masyarakat Desa Poncokusumo sehingga masyarakat dapat menyadari bahwa peningkatan kesehatan dapat dimulai dari kebiasaan hidup sehat sehari-hari. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan dan pemeriksaan kesehatan. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat memberikan respon positif dan sangat antusias dalam berpartisipasi dalam pendidikan kesehatan dan posko pemeriksaan kesehatan.

Abstract

Desa Poncokusumo adalah desa yang berada di kaki Gunung Semeru, Kecamatan Poncokusumo Kabupaten Malang Provinsi Jawa Timur. Sebagian besar masyarakat desa bekerja sebagai petani, tepatnya petani jeruk. Lokasi strategis Desa Poncokusumo yang berada di Kabupaten Malang membuat tempat ini menjadi salah satu tempat wisata kebun jeruk yang tidak jarang dikunjungi oleh wisatawan dikarenakan salah satu keunggulan UMKM-nya ialah wisatawan dapat memetik jeruk dan membeli hasil panen buah tersebut yang bisa dijadikan oleh-oleh. Selain itu potensi buah jeruk yang amat tinggi di Desa Poncokusumo menimbulkan ketertarikan kelompok 43 KSM-Tematik UNISMA 2023/2024 untuk melakukan pengembangan UMKM melalui Inovasi minuman dari buah jeruk. Jadi pengembangan inovasi pengolahan dari buah jeruk dilakukan dengan sasaran utama masyarakat setempat.

Abstract

Digital marketing plays a strategic role in optimizing the performance and social impact of waste bank groups. By leveraging digital technology, waste banks can expand the reach of environmental education, raise public awareness, and improve operational efficiency. Digital marketing can help waste banks build a strong brand, expand their market, and attract more community participation. The methods used in these activities include direct outreach and training. In addition, this training provides relevant skills for managing social media, websites, and e-commerce, which can ultimately increase income from recycling waste. In the long term, the integration of digital marketing will make waste banks more independent, competitive, and contribute more significantly to environmental conservation. The result of the training can drive the economic sustainability of waste banks by opening up opportunities for business collaboration and partnerships through digital platforms.

Abstract

The population in Indonesia engages in entrepreneurship, particularly in livestock farming, with a focus on goats. This community service initiative was conducted with a livestock group by implementing a grass chopper machine. The challenges faced include the need for understanding livestock management to improve productivity, a lack of technological development in feed production equipment, limited knowledge about hygienic and quality livestock, marketing to mobile buyers, and a high incidence of livestock illnesses. The goal of this initiative is to implement a grass chopper machine to enhance the productivity of the livestock group. The methods used in this activity include socialization, digital marketing training, livestock health management training, feed management technology training, and the design and construction of the grass chopper machine. The partners for this initiative are the Rojokoyo Tentrem Livestock Group in Sumberejo, Poncokusomo, Malang, consisting of 10 members. As a result, the partners now have a grass chopper machine that meets their needs, leading to a 30% increase in feed production, improved understanding of digital marketing, and a 40% increase in knowledge about livestock health management and feed management.

Abstract

This study investigated the catalytic pyrolysis of polypropylene (PP) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE) using 10 wt.% red mud and 10 wt.% limestone catalysts in a batch reactor. The process was conducted at an operating temperature of 350°C with retention times of 30, 60, and 90 minutes. The effects of adding red mud and limestone catalysts on the yields of liquid, solid, and gas pyrolysis products were analyzed. The pyrolytic oil was further evaluated using droplet evaporation measurements, equipped with a K-type thermocouple and a CCD camera to monitor droplet evolution within an atmospheric chamber. The addition of catalysts enhanced the liquid product yield while reducing the solid yield. The catalytic pyrolysis successfully facilitated the isomerization of plastic polymers, breaking the carbon chains of PP with 10 wt.% red mud. Olefin content increased by up to 7.3% for both 10 wt.% red mud and 10 wt.% limestone. Furthermore, the evaporation rate constant of the catalytic pyrolysis oils improved by up to 8.3%. This study aims to provide new insights into utilizing local waste materials to enhance the quality of pyrolytic plastic products.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbandingan makrostruktur hasil cor dengan variasi komposisi pasir cetak. Pasir cetak memegang peran penting dalam proses pengecoran logam, karena sifatnya memengaruhi kualitas produk cor yang dihasilkan. Variasi komposisi pasir cetak, seperti persentase pasir silika, binder, dan air, diuji untuk mengamati pengaruhnya terhadap struktur makro hasil cor, termasuk cacat permukaan, kekerasan, dan homogenitas. Proses pengecoran dilakukan menggunakan metode sand casting dengan bahan logam tertentu, serta parameter proses yang terstandarisasi. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa variasi komposisi pasir cetak memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap kualitas permukaan dan struktur internal hasil cor. Komposisi pasir cetak yang optimal mampu menghasilkan struktur makro yang lebih seragam, minim cacat, dan sesuai dengan standar kualitas industri. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam meningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas proses pengecoran di industri manufaktur.
