Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted on 15 June-24 July 2019 in the Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah Balai Perikanan Budidaya Air Laut dan Payau (UPTD BPBALP Teluk Buo), West Sumatra. This study aims to determine the effect of stocking density and the best stocking density on growth and survival of Barramundi (Lates calcarifer) seeds. The method used in this study is an experimental method using a non factorial complete randomized design (RAL) with 4 treatments (A: 10 fish/8 liters, B: 20 fish/8 liters, C: 30 fish/8 liters, and D: 40 fish/8 liters) and 3 replications to produce 12 experimental units which were placed randomly. This study used a tub of fiber measuring 2.25 x 1.20 x 5.5 m3 and given a bulkhead using net measuring 20 x 20 x 20 cm3, amounting to 112 units with 4 mm net size and made of polyethylene. The test parameters in this study are absolute weight growth, absolute length increase, specific growth rate, survival rate, and water quality. The results of this study indicate that the best stocking density for growth and survival of Barramundi seeds is 20 fish/8 liters and the lowest is 40 fish/8 liters.Kata kunci: Stocking density, growth, survival, Lates calcarifer.

Abstract

The research was conducted on February – March 2020 and located in Pandan Island with using survey method. The research aimed to analyze characteristic habitat of the physical and biological turtle nesting beaches, the distribution of turtle’s nests, and the microbial conditions of the turtle’s nests. The result showed that the length of beach was 1,379.4 m with average width of beach was 16.13 m. The average beach slope was 5.52 %. Substrate type dominated by sand substrate. The most abundant vegetation was ketapang tree (Terminalia catappa) and the predators discovered were monitor lizard and dog. There where 4 turtle nests were found, which was 3 nests of hawksbill turtles and 1 nest of green turtle. The average distance of nests from high tide line was 5.7 m with average distance between nest was 177.87 m. Respectively, the average of temperature, humidity, and depth of the nests were 29.58℃, 12.78%, and 53.3 cm. The average size of curve carapace length was 84.25 cm and average curve carapace width was 76.25 cm. The average number of eggs was 144 of each nest with average diameter of eggs was 3.35 cm.

Abstract

Mudskipper or Periopthalmus variabilis Eggert (subfamily Oxudercinae, Gobiidae) commonly present in the intertidal area of mangrove ecosystem. This fish is able to walk in the forest floor by using its pectoral fins. To understand the gonad development and fecundity of the fish, a study has been conducted in September - October 2014. The fish was sampled by scoop net at night. Results shown that the male-female ratio 2 : 1. The males were in the 1st to 4th maturity levels , while those of the females were in the 3rd, 4th and 5th levels. The fecundity was ranged from 112,496 – 137,698 eggs/fish.

Abstract

Kerang bambu merupakan salah satu jenis moluska dari famili solenidae yang mempunyainilai ekonomis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari 2017 bertempatdi Pantai Desa Teluk Lancar Kecamatan Bantan Kabupaten Bengkalis. Penelitian inibertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik habitat, kelimpahan dan pola distribusi kerangbambu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei. Penentuanlokasi pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Pengukurankualitas perairan dilakukan secara in situ dan ex situ yang terdiri dari parameter fisikadan kimia perairan. Karakteristik habitat kerang bambu yaitu jenis substratnya pasirdengan klasifikasi pasir sangat halus. Bahan organik sedimen tergolong rendah dansangat rendah 0,907-1,749 %. Padatan tersuspensi tergolong sangat tinggi 223-1830mg/l. Parameter kualitas perairan masih mendukung untuk kehidupan kerang.Kelimpahan rata-rata adalah 0,88/m2, kelimpahan tertinggi terdapat di subzona 5(zona lower) atau surut terendah dan kelimpahan terendah pada subzona 3 (zona middle)atau zona tengah intertidal. Pola distribusi rata-rata bersifat mengelompok. Ukurankerang yang ditemukan memiliki panjang 45-93 mm dengan berat 1,91-9,67 g.

Abstract

The research was conducted on January 2015, in the waters of the Sungai Bela Estuary,Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The research purposed was to define the habitatcharacteristics, vertical distribution, and analysis of correlation between habitat parameters andabundance of windowpane oyster (Placuna placenta). There were 4 stations and each stationdivided into 3 sampling points based on the depth, they were <2 meter, 2–4 meter, and >4meters. Results shown that good habitat characteristics for windowpane oyster was ontemperature of 27.77 0C, Total Suspended Solid on 24.33 mg/L, current speed on 0.02 m/s, pHon 7.87, salinity on 20.60/00, DO on 7.63 mg/L, BOD on 4.17 mg/L, Nitrate on 0.07 mg/L,phosphate on 0.05 mg/L, and organic on 30.07%. The highest abundance of windowpane oysterwas on station 4 (11.000 Ind/Ha). While in vertical term, the highest abundance was at <2meter depth. The distribution pattern of windowpane oyster was evenly at station 1 andclumped in station 2, 3 and 4. Result of correlation abundance of windowpane oyster effect oncurrent speed was r= -0.711, pH was r= 0.649, the abundance of phytoplankton was r= 0.688,and mud substrate was r= 0.535.

Abstract

The study about habitat characteristics and population structure razor clam (Solen lamarckii, Chenu 1984) in intertidal zone Apiapi Village Bandar Laksamana District Bengkalis Regency conducted on January 2020. The purpose of this study was to analyze about habitat characteristics and population structure of razor clam and the correlation between substrate particle size and population density of razor clam. The habitat parameters measured include the physical and chemical parameters of sea waters. Determination of the station using purposive sampling method. Razor clam samples were collected by using a 1 x 1 m2 frame that laid along a transect. There were 4 plots and 3 subplots along the transect as replications. The result showed, the sediment tipe was sandy substrate, organic material was low, total suspended solid was high. Population density of razor clams was 3.3-23.3 Ind/m2. The distribution pattern of razor clams through each plot was uniform. While, the most common size of razor clam 5.04-5.62 cm. The correlation between particle size and population density of razor clam was strong.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kondisi ekosistem hutan mangrove berdasarkanKriteria Baku Kerusakan Mangrove dan menyusun strategi pengelolaan ekosistemmangrove di Sungaitohor. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari sampai denganMei 2017 di Desa Sungaitohor. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah metodesurvey, dimana setiap transek dibentang tali dari laut ke darat. Pada setiap zonasimangrove yang berada di sepanjang garis transek, diletakkan plot pohon berbentukbujur sangkar dengan ukuran 10 × 10 m2 dimana didalamnya terdapat petakan 5×5 m2untuk anakan dan 2×2 m2 untuk semai. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 11 jenis mangrove.Jenis mangrove yang dominan di lokasi penelitian adalah jenis Avicennia alba. Berdasarkankriteria baku kerusakan mangrove, kondisi mangrove dalam kondisi baikdimana kisaran kerapatan pohon adalah 666,67 - 2333,33 pohon/ha, substrat padadaerah hutan mangrove adalah lumpur berpasir. Rata-rata indeks keanekaragaman pohonrendah (H’= 0,74), diakibatkan tingkat abrasi pantai tinggi dan tumbuhan mangroveyang berasosiasi. Strategi konservasi dijelaskan bahwa hutan mangrove di DesaSungaitohor dalam kawasan yang dilarang dalam kepemilikan perseorangan, kawasanmangrove ini tidak diperbolehkan untuk membuka lahan, pemukiman, tambak ikan danpenebangan kayu mangrove secara bebas.

Abstract

This study aims to determine bioekeonomi capture fisheries in the Islands District Meranti (Maximum Sustainable Yield, Maximum Economic Yield, and Open Access), to assess the status of fisheries in the Islands Meranti Regency using models Schaefer, calculating the profitability of fishermen during fishing operations take place. This research was conducted in June - August 2015 in the village of Sungai Gayung Kiri Rangsang Subdistrict, village of Tanjung Kedabu Rangsang Pesisir Subdistrict and village of Telesung Rangsang Pesisir Subdistrict in Meranti Islands Regency. The method used in this research is survey method with interview and observation, while data analysis using bio-economic modeling. The results of this study suggests that the benefits of fishing effort during the arrest operation took place most largely produced from the mackerel and the status of the fishery in Meranti Islands Regency has achieved economic overfishing.

The purpose of this study was to determine the crab community structure which includes the type, abundance, crab distribution patterns, species diversity (H '), species uniformity (E), and species dominance (C) crabs. The method used in this study is a survey method. There are three observation stations with each of the three transects at each station, on each transect line there is a square plot with a size of 5x5 m2. Crab sampling is done quantitatively and qualitatively. Based on the results of the study it was found that the species of crabs identified at the area of the research were Sesarma reticulatum, S. guttatum, Uca dussumieri, U. rosea, U. vocans, Cardisoma carnifex, and Clistocoeloma merguinse. Furthermore, the abundance of crabs obtained is between 1560-2040 Ind / Ha with cluster distribution patterns. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari - Februari 2017. Penelitian ini bertujuanuntuk mengetahui struktur komunitas makrozoobenthos pada hutan mangroveDesa Mengkapan, Kecamatan Sungai Apit Provinsi Riau yang meliputi: jenis makrozoobenthos,kepadatan, keanekaragaman, dominasi, keseragaman dan pola distribusimakrozoobenthos. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey.Sampel sedimen diambil dari 3 Stasiun. Pengambilan sampel makrozoobenthos dilakukanmenggunakan plot berukuran 1m x 1m. Analisis dan identifikasi dilakukan di laboratoriumbiologi laut, Fakultas Perikanan dan Kelautan, Universitas Riau, Pekanbaru.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh makrozoobenthos yang ditemukan terdiridari 3 kelas yaitu gastropoda, bivalvia, dan crustacea. Kelimpahan makrozoobenthosberkisar 58,3 - 90 ind/m2. Kelimpahan relatif tertinggi pada stasiun 1 yaitu spesiesNerita sp (34,7%), pada stasiun 2 yaitu spesies Cassidula aurisfelis (17,2%) dan stasiun3 yaitu spesies Telescopium telescopium (22,3%). Keanekaragaman (H’) padastasiun-stasiun penelitian berkisar 2,08-2,21, indeks dominansi (C) pada stasiun-stasiunpenelitian berkisar 0,23-0,26, indeks keseragaman (E) pada stasiun-stasiun penelitianberkisar 0,45-0,50 dan pola distribusi makrozoobenthos (Id) berkisar antara 1,02-1,05(mengelompok).
