Abstract

This study was conducted in Singingi River in March 2008. To the objectiv of the study areidentify the macrozoobenthos community structure and its relationships with the physical andchemical properties of the river. Water and macrozoobenthos sample were taken in 3replications in 5 station namely inlower part of the river, Tanjung Pauh, Sungai Paku, Kotobaruand Petai. The samples were examined descriptively and analyzed in the labortary. Themacrozoobenthos samples were belong to 3 phylum, 4 classes, 8 families and 8 spesies. Theabundance of the organisms were 105 – 427 individu/M2, the diversity index (H’) were 0,93 –1,77, the domination index (C’) were 0,35 – 0,65 and the homogenity index were 0,52 – 0,84.The Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Sulphate, Ferrum,Total Suspended Solid (TSS) and Turbidity of the water were exceed the maximum levelsuggested by the Goverment Decree No. 82 / 2001, about The Management of Water Qualityand Pollution. The analysis revealed the positive correlation betwen macrozoobenthos withvarious physical and chemical characteristics of the water, the sediment and texture of thebottom material.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted from May to June 2014 in asam strait. Mekarsari Village Merbau sub district Meranti Islands regency. This research aimed to analyze the quality ofthe waters around the disposal of liquid waste of sago processing plantin waters of asam Strait and obtained the economic view of traditional fishermen in Mekarsari village that fishing in the waters of the asam Strait. The method used in this research is a survey method, while to know the economic of fishermen in Mekarsari Village who fishing in the asam Strait, conducted interviews to all of the fishermen that there are 27 people, based on a list of questions that have been made. The result of the study show that some of water quality parameters in the asam Strait of Mekarsari village has exceeded the quality standard based on the Ministry of environmental No.51 of 2004 such as TSS, turbidity, nitrate, ammonia and BOD5. Based on the observations of the macrozoobenthos were found during research in asam Strait of Mekarsari Villages hows that, over all asam strait were moderately polluted with macrozoobenthos diversity index < 3, while the third stations showed heavily polluted conditions with the discovery of macrozoobenthos Capitella sp. Fishermen economic based on the data of fishing income during the study showed greatly a decrease from year to year.

Abstract

This research held on May until November 2016 in Riau University Jl. Bina Widya Km. 12,5 Simpang Baru Panam, Pekanbaru. The aim of this research was to discover and evaluate implementation of green campus concept on PSLH Riau University policy, provision of enviromentally friendly facilities, and waste management in Riau University area. The kind of this research is quantitative research with survey method. Primary data was obtained from observation result of PSLH Riau University, ESU Riau University, interview and field observation document, while secondary data resource was obtained from literature study which is related with green campus concept. The result showed that PSLH Riau University policy got score 86,7 in implementation criteria was very good, provision of enviromentally friendly facilities in Riau University got score 82,5 in implementation criteria was very good, and waste management in Riau University area got score 27,5 in implementation criteria was not good enough.

Abstract

Research was conducted in Gaung Anak Serka River Sub-Province Indragiri Hilir in Octobertill januari 2008 as a mean to know status of quality of territorial water of Gaung Anak SerkaRiver evaluated from physics and chemical parameter, and community structure ofmakrozoobenthos. The Method used of survey and intake of sampel taken twice, in each stationof sampel taken at 3 dots at random. Research station consist of; station 1 (GAS river estuary),station 2 (Teluk Pinang), station 3 (Dusun Murni), station 4 (Teluk Pantaian), Station 5 (SungaiIliran), station 6 (Teluk Sungka), station 7 (Tuasan), station 8 (Dusun Pergam), station 9(Sungai Empat) and station 10 (Rambaian). Data has taken of quality of water either throughphysics and chemical parameter and also makrozoobenthos. Data of Exsitu analysed inLaboratory Faculty of Fishery and Marine Science of Riau University. Quality of physics waterparameters (temperature, brightness, deepness, current flow) still normal in a conditionaccording to PP. 82. year 2001, except brightness for station residing in part of downstream(station 1-5) have passed normal sill. Chemical parameters (pH, DO. TSS. COD, BOD, Nitrateand Fospat) also stay in normal gyration. While, organism of Macrozoobenthos found in riverconsist of 6 set of relatives, 5 Class and 6 Ordo. Set of relatives consist of Tucideae,Chironomideae, Baetidae, Ctenodrillidae, Donacidae and Nassariidae. Class coversOligochaeta, Insecta, Polychaeta, Pelecypoda and Gastropoda. Ordo Nematoda, Doptera,Ephemerptera, Ctenodrilida, Veneridea and Neagastropoda. Types of Macrozoobenthos areTubifek sp, Sp Chironomous, Baetis Sp, Ctenodrillus Serratus and Cyclop neritea.

Abstract

Utilization of Koto Panjang reservoir for common carp (Cyprinus carpio) breeding using floating net cages is increasing. This results in a decrease of water quality and infectious bacterial disease. The lack of information about the diversity of pathogenic bacteria and the prevalence of pathogenic bacteria , led to the need for studies to observe the relationship between the incidence of diseases caused by pathogenic bacteria with the water quality parameters. This study aims to determine the quality of the waters, inventory pathogenic bacteria, as well as knowing the correlation between water quality parameters with the prevalence of pathogenic bacteria in common carp in Koto Panjang reservoir. Location of the study included five observation stations (Dam Site, Pulo Gadang, Batu Langkah Besar, Muara Mahat, and Tanjung Alai) with three sampling periods. Water quality parameters measured were temperature, pH, Dissolved Oxygen, Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia, Phosphate, Total Suspended Solids, and Biological Oxygen Demands. Result of water quality measurements showed that the water quality was still good and the water was still in the range of quality standards required, except for the content of ammonia which was already passed the threshold. The pathogenic bacteria in common carp were Aeromonas sp, Pseudomonas sp, Yersinia sp and Pasteurella sp., While on the water samples were Pseudomonas sp, Enterobacter sp, Vibrio sp, Aeromonas sp, Streptococcus sp, and Staphylococcus sp. The correlation between the prevalence of pathogenic bacteria and water quality parameters was vary, Aeromonas sp was weakly correlated (32.3%), while the prevalence of Pseudomonas sp had a strong relationship (81.3%). The correlation between the total bacteria and water quality had a strong connection, water quality parameters were measured at 64.8% affected total bacteria and 35.2% were influenced by other factors.

Abstract

This research was conducted in March 2016. Sampling was conducted in the coastal waters of Padang and Pariaman, West Sumatra. The purpose of this research is to map the distribution of chlorophyll-a in the coastal waters of Padang and Pariaman, West Sumatra Province. The method used in this research is survey method. The results of image analysis is known that the distribution of chlorophyll-a uniform occurred in February 2016 in which the distribution covers a large area and at least shades of difference in that month. Furthermore, the uneven distribution of chlorophyll-a occurred in November 2015 in which the distribution is so broad and it could be seen from striking differences in color gradation. Results of laboratory analysis known that the highest of chlorophyll-a concentration was occurred in the month of November 2015 and the lowest occurred in March 2015.

Abstract

This research was conducted at Kuala Enok coastal water of Indragiri Hilir District. Samples of sediment and nypha palm worm N. rhodochorde have been taken from six locations of two villages those were Kuala Enok and Tanah Merah coastal water. Analysis of metal concentrations both in sediment and nypha palm worm conducted by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) Shimadzu A7000. The result showed that concentration of Plumbum (Pb) and Cadmium (Cd) in sediment which were between 74.44 10-2 – 108.64 10-2 ppm (Pb) and 0.55 10-2 – 0.96 10-2 ppm (Cd). While the concentration of these metals in nypha palm worm N. rhodochorde which were between 19,26 10-2 – 46.57 10-2 ppm (Pb) and 0.20 10-2 – 0.51 10-2 (Cd), indicating that the concentration in both sediment and nypha palm worm revealed the positive correlation.

Abstract

The Purpose of this study was to analyze the types and amounts and resources of solid madical waste management including : human resources,  facilities and infrastructure as well as the costs, management status and impact of solid medical waste on the environmention Bangkinng District Hospital. This research was conducted in July – August 2019. Research subjects that made informants were the hospital director on the person in charge, head of planning, head of sanitation unit, head of friends room. Head of fighting room, head of ICU room, head of room Ali Bin Abithalib, head of IGD room, celaning service, and the people who live around Bangkinang District Hospital. This research uses survey methods with quantitaive and qualitative approach. The amount of solid medical waste generation is 30,7 kg/day and solid medical waste generated in Bangkinang District Hospital in one month was 955,7 kg. Management of solid medical waste in Bangkinang District Hospital still mixws medical waste with non mediacal waste. District hospital management of solid medical waste in Bangkinang District Hospital is not accordance with Permenkes No. 1204/MenKes/SK/X/2014, regarding hospital environmental health requirements.The impact by community around Bangkinang District Hospital is the smell smoke and shortness of breath, as well as the impact on air polution

Abstract

This study is aimed to analyze the impact of the Environmental Management System of ISO 14001: 2004 to the environmental, economic, and social, analyze the effect of the environmental policy on the impact of ISO 14001: 2004, analyze the effect of the environmental planning on the impact of ISO 14001: 2004, analyze the effect of the implementation and the environmental operation on the impact of ISO 14001: 2004, analyze the effect of the examination on the impact of ISO 14001: 2004, and analyze the effect of management review of the impact of ISO 14001: 2004. The research by using a survey method with questionnaires, while the sampling technique would be used census method, in which the totals of respondents were 146 people. In analyzing the data, this study used descriptive statistical analysis method using Likert-Scale and path analysis. The findings of the study on the impact of the environmental management system of ISO 14001: 2004 showed a good result to the environmental, economic, and social. The environmental policy, environmental planning, implementation and Operation, and Examination have significant effect to the environmental, economic, and social but the management review did not significant effect to the environmental, economic, and social. Directly effected dan indirectly effected the Environmental Management with -0.63%, meanwhile, the environmental planning with4.05%, for the implementation and Operationby 6.23%.and for the examinationas well with 19.00% and then the management review with 0.03%.

Abstract

Polyethylene terephtalate (PET) is used in bottled drinking water. However, PET canbe easily damaged by the effect of temperature and storage time. Formaldehydemigrates from PET as a thermal degradation product. The aim of this research is todetermine the levels of formaldehyde in bottled drinking water based on length time andtemperature and the result were compared with KEPMENKES the Republic ofIndonesia Number 907/MENKES/SK/VII/2002 and Environment Protection Agency(EPA) year 2012. UV-Vis spectrophotometer is used to measure the levels offormaldehyde in the sample and Schiff’s reagent was added to the samples to detect thepresen of formaldehyde. The result of this research showed that the migration offormaldehyde into the drinking water were fluctiative. The highest concentration offormaldehyde was in SPA water 0,214 mg/L at 60°C during 2 weeks storage and 0,155mg/L at 37°C for AQUA during 3 weeks storage. Formaldehyde content of both sampleSPA and AQUA were below the treshold based on KEPMENKES the Republic ofIndonesia Number 907/MENKES/SK/VII/2002 of these Terms and Monitoring ofDrinking Water Quality and Environment Protection Agency (EPA) year 2012.
