This study aims to examine the influence of the learning community on computer-based statistic acceptance. Acceptability is measured with perceived usefulness variables, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, and reuse intention. This study used quasi-experimental design. To selecting the respondents, researchers used cluster random sampling and a questionnaire to collect the data. Respondents consisted of 207 accounting students of which 86 were engaged in the learning community while 121 were not. One-way ANOVA analysis result showed that students who participated in the learning community have better computer-based statistic acceptance than the students who did not. The learning community was found to be able to facilitate the transfer of knowledge among students more freely than in the classroom. Further research can consider true-experimental design or lab experiment with more rigorous manipulation for controlling bias from another variable that may consist.

This study examined the three dimensions that should exist in a learning community, namely Student Cohesiveness, Integration, and Task Orientation, related to their influence on attitude toward computer-based statistics. Attitude toward computer-based statistics itself is measured using constructs of the revised Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study was designed to justify the value of information systems (IS) in overcoming accounting students' statistical problems. The use of IS probable to reduce the pressure in dealing with statistics so that there is an opportunity to increase accounting students' competitive advantage. The respondents consisted of 105 undergraduate accounting students. The data was collected using a 5-scale Likert questionnaire then analyzed using Structural Equational Modelling (SEM). With purposive sampling, this study was collected 105 responses obtained from private and state universities. The results indicate that task orientation is the key indicator of the learning community, affecting attitude toward computer-based statistics. Meanwhile, the second-order factors show that all three predictors were essential in explaining attitude toward computer-based statistics and significantly impacted Reuse Intention. This study also suggests implementing an informal learning community to build learning dynamics that are more independent but still controllable so that the learning topic is integrated with certain subjects.

Warisan budaya dan alam adalah aspek wisata berdaya jual tinggi dewasa ini. Sumatera Utara sendiri memiliki warisan budaya luhur yang terletak pada lokasi geografis yang eksotis mengingat kejayaan yang pernah di alaminya pra-reformasi. Sayangnya, potensi tersebut kini tidak diikuti dengan pengelolaan yang tepat. Kondisi ini menjadi menarik seiring dengan adanya konsep community-based tourism yang menempatkan masyarakat pada posisi penting dalam pengelolaan objek wisata. Ditambah lagi, sinyal positif yang telah disampaikan Presiden RI untuk menjadikan kawasan geopark Danau Toba menjadi “The Monaco Of Asia” bisa saja membentuk ekspektasi pasar pariwisata di sumatera utara. Secara umum tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1) memetakan persepsi pariwisata masyarakat terkait Kawasan Wisata Danau Toba, dan 2) mengidentifikasi variasi persepsi tersebut berdasarkan kategori gender dan tingkat pendidikan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan survey dan in-depth interview di lima wilayah sekeliling Danau Toba dengan kunjungan wisata yang tinggi dengan teknik purposive sampling. Responden yang dapatkan melalui survey adalah sebanyak 212 orang responden. Data yang didapat selanjutnya analisis melalui statistik deskriptif dan tabulasi silang. In depht interview dilakukan pada tokoh masyarakat, unsur pemerintah daerah, dan pelaku pariwisata di sekitar Danau Toba. Penelitian ini merupakan exploratory variabel-variabel yang dianggap penting bagi masyarakat yang berimplikasi pada rekomendasi tata kelola daerah wisata Danau Toba. Temuan penelitian merekomendasikan pemerintah, masyarakat, dan stakeholder lebih sadar dan mengetahui strategi, capaian, dan manfaat yang akan didapat melalui pengelolaan lingkungan kawasan wisata danau toba. Kesadaran tersebut nantinya akan berimplikasi pada kemampuan masyarakat menciptakan pengalaman pariwisata yang menyenangkan bagi wisatawan danau toba.

This study aimed to examine the effect of lecturer readiness in online learning on the acceptance of lecturers in online learning applications, and the effect of lecturer acceptance in online learning applications on the lecturer's perception of social presence. The subjects of this study were the lecturers at the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Medan which was taken by a total sampling technique. This study used a survey method with electronic questionnaires to collect data. Of the 113 lecturers, 81 responses were returned, and there were two incomplete questionnaires. This study had 79 responses that met the requirements of the analysis. The data were analyzed using Variance-based SEM. The results of the data analysis indicate that perceived usefulness is a critical variable in getting social presence in online learning. Meanwhile, the readiness of lecturers in online learning is an essential antecedent of the acceptance of the use of online learning applications

This study redefines the research model highlighting the learning approach to investigate the interaction of relevant constructs in the relationship between the learning time spent and academic performance. The subjects of this study were 86 final-year undergraduate students of the accounting education department who had passed the final teaching training program as one of the requirements to become an accounting teacher at the high school and vocational level. In general, time spent has a positive and significant effect on the overall academic performance of the respondents and student groups with the Deep Learning Approach (DLA) and Surface Learning Approach (SLA)'s peers. However, each learning approach has no moderating effect on the relationship between time spent and academic performances. On the other hand, this finding provides an interesting point of view regarding the absence of significant differences in the length of study duration in the two groups of students, which confirms the independence of student learning styles nowadays. Hence, they get more flexible autonomy in improving their academic performance. This research also found that the DLA student group has better academic performance than their SLA counterparts, a finding that is in line with the Social Cognitive Theory and previous research results.

Saat ini media social telah jamak digunakan untuk aktivitas bertujuan bisnis baik oleh entitas bisnis maupun oleh perorangan. Fenomena tersebut tentunya memiliki nilai tersendiri dalam sudut pandang system informasi keperilakuan. Di satu sisi, riset yang telah banyak berkembang didominasi oleh riset pada system informasi yang berorientasi tugas. Sementara, di sisi lain fenomena yang terjadi di media social tidak terlepas dari nilai hedonis yang melekap pada media social tersebut. Karenanya kajian literature ini bertujuan untuk membangun kerangka konseptual yang mengintegerasikan unsur entertainment system informasi (Hedonic Information System) dengan unsur produktivitas system informasi (website quality) dalam membangun keberterimaan system informasi. Objek amatan pada kajian literature ini adalah pedagang eceran di social media dan pengguna media social yang menjadi konsumen. Kajian literature ini mengasilkan kerangka konseptual yang selanjutnya dapat divalidasi melalui riset-riset empiris. Sementara ini kerangka konseptual yang dihasilkan juga memiliki rekomendasi praktis dan teoritis. Kata kunci: Nilai Hedonis, Kualitas Website, Pedagang Eceran, Media Sosial

Salah satu makanan khas dari Pulau Sumatra adalah tape ubi. Proses pembuatan tape ubi pada mitra di Desa Kolam memakan waktu dikarenakan keterbatasan sarana produksinya. Permasalahan lain juga ditemui pada segi kemasan dan pemasarannya karena masih menggunakan bungkusan plastik biasa serta masih diproduksi sesuai permintaan pelanggan. Solusi yang dilakukan oleh tim pengabdi adalah melakukan (1) pelatihan dan pendampingan pada mitra dalam mendesain kemasan produknya untuk keberlanjutan usahanya, (2) pemberian alat TTG yang dapat meningkatkan produksi usaha tape ubi pada mitra berupa dandang ukuran besar sesuai kebutuhan produksi usaha tape ubi serta kotak fiber pembungkus kemasan produk sehingga ketahahan produk di pasar terjamin, (3) pelatihan dan pendampingan pemasaran online berbasis web.

Mitra Usaha UMKM Madani merupakan suatu kelompok pengrajin purun yang berlokasi di Dusun I, Desa Cinta Air, Kecamatan Perbaungan, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai, Propinsi Sumatera Utara. Permasalahan yang ditemukan pada mitra yaitu proses produksi usaha yang masih tradisional dan manual dengan cara meletakkan purun ditengah jalan agar dipipih oleh ban kendaraan yang melintas di jalan. Cara ini sangat beresiko bagi keselamatan mereka, kualitas purun yang dihasilkan sangat buruk dan harus menunggu cuaca yang cerah. Pengelolaan pembukuan keuangan dan manajemen usaha yang belum tercatat sehingga tidak dapat mengetahui berapa modal, pendapatan dan keuntungan yang berdampak pada kesulitan dalam pengembangan usaha juga menjadi salah satu permasalahan mitra. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan pelatihan, pendampingan dan praktikum dengan memberikan mitra alat TTG mesin pemipih purun. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menghasilkan tersedianya alat TTG mesin pemipih purun yang mampu meningkatkan produktivitas usaha mitra dalam proses persiapan bahan baku yang dapat dilakukan kapan saja karena mesinnya dapat dengan mudah dipindahkan serta menghasilkan kualitas purun yang lebih baik tanpa pecah yang sembarangan dan lebih lentur. Hasil lainnya yaitu dalam bentuk peningkatan wawasan dan pengetahuan mitra setelah diberikan pelatihan dan pendampigan dalam mengelola pembukuan keuangan dan manajemen usahanya sehingga laporan keuangan dan manajemen usaha mitra tersusun dengan rapi dan lengkap
