Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve the quality of basic mechanical engineering learning at Sekolah Indonesia Davao (SID) through the application of innovative and effective learning media. SID has limited access to basic mechanical engineering learning materials, and there is no media that makes it easier to understand the material. To overcome this problem, the community service activity implementation team implemented basic engineering learning media aimed for junior high and high school levels. The implementation methods included identifying partner problems, determining solutions, implementing media, monitoring, and compiling reports. The results of the implementation of this activity showed that the basic mechanical engineering learning media has been handed over to the partner on May 28, 2024, and training on how to operate the media has been carried out. This activity also received a positive response from the partner, because it made a significant contribution to improving the understanding and skills of students at SID in the field of mechanical engineering, as well as strengthening cooperation between Surabaya State University and SID in the field of education.

Abstract

Introduction: In daily routines, especially in heavy weight lifting activities, grip strength is important. This study aims to investigate grip strength with muscle mass and fat mass in the arms. Methods: Cross-sectional study with the subjects of this study were 45 students (15 females and 30 males) with male characteristics (age 19.8±0.83, height 168±6.10, weight 64.7±11.5, BMI 22.9±3.82) while in women (age 20±0.78, height 159.3±4.43, weight 57.3±11.6, BMI 22.6±4.33). Spearman correlation from SPSS version 26 with a significance level of P-value < 0.05. Finding: Based on the data, there was no significant correlation between grip strength and muscle ma and arm fat mass. Then the muscle mass of the right side with (P-value: 0.079, r: 0.265) and the left side (P-value: 0.059, r: 0.284), while the mass of fat on the right side (P-value: 0.090, r-value -0.256) and the mass of fat on the left (P-value: 0.180, r-value: -0.204). Conclusion: This study proves that there is no correlation between grip strength and muscle mass or arm fat mass.

Abstract

Kata kunci: Pengembangan, Google Slide, Respon siswa, hasil belajar ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of using Google Slide-based learning media to improve student responses and learning outcomes for TKRO students at SMK Negeri 3 Surabaya after implementing Google Slide-based learning media. Teachers as facilitators are required to be creative in utilizing developments in information and communication technology to support the development of learning media. The development method used in this study was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The results of this study indicate that the development of Google Slide-based learning media for the Light Vehicle Steering System material at SMK Negeri 3 Surabaya obtained an average N-Gain score of 77.6%, which is considered high. Furthermore, for student responses, the results obtained from three aspects obtained an average score of 88%, classified as very practical. Therefore, it can be concluded that there are differences in learning outcomes before and after the implementation of Google Slide-based learning materials and student responses to the implementation of Google Slide-based learning media received a positive response. Abstract

Teaching Factory (TEFA) is a production-based learning model that aims to align student skills with industry needs. This study analyzes the readiness and implementation of TEFA in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program at Surabaya State University to improve 21st-century skills in the digital era. Using a simple random sampling method with 44 respondents, the data were analyzed using Rasch modeling because of its accurate measurement in identifying the level of response suitability. The results show that the educational aspect of TEFA received a very positive response, reflecting the contribution of this program in supporting the development of 21st-century competencies, including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, character, and civic engagement. Students are trained to think critically and solve real problems so that they are ready to face industry challenges. However, the marketing aspect needs to be improved so that information about TEFA is better known and this program gets more comprehensive support from the community. With a more effective promotion strategy, opportunities for collaboration with external parties can increase, and more students can be involved, strengthening the collaboration and communication aspects of 21st-century competencies. Overall, TEFA not only helps students master technical skills but also strengthens 21st-century competencies that are relevant and applicable in the professional world
