Abstract

This article is about the effect of forest fires in Kalimantan on increasing air pollution for surrounding countries. The problem of forest fires has become a national issue that is of serious concern to the government. This incident occurs repeatedly every year, especially on the island of Kalimantan. Indonesia has very extensive and dense tropical forests, especially in the Papua and Kalimantan regions. These forests contribute significantly to oxygen production and carbon dioxide storage, which are important factors in maintaining global climate balance. Some people in Indonesia depend directly or indirectly on forests to earn a living and meet their daily needs. Air pollution due to forest fires in Indonesia does not only impact local areas, but can also spread to neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. This can worsen the air quality and health of the citizens of these countries.

Abstract

Based on the researcher's observations, it is known that the issue is that students feel that the teaching and learning activities lack variety because educators only use PowerPoint (PPT) as a teaching medium, even though there are many suitable teaching media for geography topics in high schools, one of which is thematic maps. The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of using thematic map learning media on students' learning outcomes. This research employs a quantitative research method with a quasi-experimental design, using pre-tests and post-tests as research instruments. The research sample was selected using purposive random sampling. The samples in this study are class XI IPS 3 and XI IPS 4 of SMAN 113 Jakarta. Data on students' learning outcomes were collected using pre-tests and post-tests. The researcher also conducted several tests, including tests for the validity and appropriateness of the learning media, tests for normality, homogeneity, and independent sample t-tests. The findings of this research show that the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. This means that there is an influence from the implementation of the thematic map learning media, and there is a difference in the average learning outcomes between the experimental group and the control group. Thematic map learning media is suitable for use as a teaching tool that can assist students in analyzing the phenomenon of the distribution of natural disasters in Indonesia. Thus, it has been proven that the use of thematic maps can lead to improved learning outcomes for students.

Abstract

This research is useful for knowing the origin of visitors who visit the Museum Nasional through a virtual tour of the Museum Nasional. This is because virtual tours are a new breakthrough for tourism activities in Indonesia. The method used is a survey approach with a sampling technique in the form of accidental sampling through google forms distributed through social media, such as twitter, WhatsApp group, comments on the Museum Nasional YouTube channel, and Instagram starting on December 26, 2021 - January 6, 2022, namely as many as 42 people and the number of respondents obtained on July 25 – July 30, 2022, as many as 62 people with a total of 104 respondents who made virtual visits to the Museum Nasional. Results Based on what was obtained, most of the visitors came from the provinces of DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Banten, and East Java. To determine visitors who do virtual tours of the Museum Nasional, researchers use Nearest Neighbor Analysis contained in the ArcGIS application. In this case, the researchers digitized the distribution points of visitors (by district/city) who made virtual visits to the Museum Nasional which got 27 points from the districts/cities of origin of visitors (104 research respondents). Then, the results of the distribution category are dispersed distributed because the Nearest Neighbor Ratio is 32,094.

Abstract

Indonesia, as an archipelagic country located in the equatorial region, is faced with a high risk of natural disasters, especially floods, due to its volcanic location and the intersection of three main tectonic plates. In this context, this research aims to analyze the potential of mosques in DKI Jakarta and the Batanghari River basin as flood disaster evacuation buildings. Using a descriptive-analytical study method with a combined approach between online and field observations, as well as data from the official government website, this research evaluates mosques based on the criteria of floor height, availability of the 2nd floor, and other supporting facilities. The results show that there is significant variation in mosque architectural design and facility availability, with some mosques having potential evacuation buildings while others require significant modification to increase their functionality in the face of flood disasters. This research suggests the need to modify the mosque design, including increasing the floor height and adding second-floor facilities and stairs, to strengthen the role of the mosque as an effective evacuation site.
