Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Islamic financial literacy training based on Participatory Action Research (PAR) in improving students' understanding, skills, and awareness of Islamic financial management according to Islamic principles in the context of digitalization of Islamic boarding school economy. The study was conducted at the Sunan Drajat Islamic Boarding School in Lamongan by involving students and cooperative administrators through three stages: needs assessment, workshop and simulation-based application training, and reflective mentoring. Data were collected through pre-post tests, observations, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed a significant increase in four indicators of financial literacy, as well as the emergence of microeconomic initiatives pioneered by students. Active involvement of participants is a key factor in success. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating participatory approaches and digital technology in Islamic financial education, as well as its contribution to strengthening the Islamic boarding school economic ecosystem. The limitations of duration and coverage of the area indicate the need for broader and more sustainable follow-up studies.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of local wisdom and Islamic psychology in nurturing love and tolerance at Sunan Drajat Islamic Boarding School, Lamongan, Indonesia. The research aims to analyze how Sunan Drajat’s noble values are applied in the pesantren context to shape students’ character. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. Despite extensive research on Islamic education and tolerance, few studies have explored how local wisdom traditions within pesantren function as a framework for Islamic psychology and character formation. This study fills that gap by showing how Sunan Drajat’s teachings are internalized through tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the soul), qalb salim (sound heart), and ihsan (spiritual excellence), fostering compassion and tolerance among students. The novelty of this study lies in its integration of Islamic psychological theory with indigenous pedagogical practices, positioning pesantren as a living laboratory for spiritual and social development. The findings reveal that this model strengthens psychological well-being, promotes inclusive spirituality, and contributes to global harmony through education grounded in local wisdom.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ideal service improvement model, examine the implementation of Khidmah and Amanah values, and investigate their influence on customer satisfaction at Toserba Sunan Drajat Petiyin. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 50 customers selected using accidental sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The analysis included validity testing, reliability testing, structural model evaluation, and hypothesis testing. The results indicate that all research indicators met the validity and reliability criteria. The values of Khidmah and Amanah have been well implemented in service delivery based on customer perceptions. Hypothesis testing revealed that Amanah had a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction with a path coefficient of 0.395, a T-statistic of 3.731, and a p-value of 0.000. Meanwhile, Khidmah also had a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction with a path coefficient of 0.583, a T-statistic of 6.363, and a p-value of 0.000. The R-square value of 0.853 indicates that Amanah and Khidmah jointly explain 85.3% of the variance in customer satisfaction. Furthermore, the effect size analysis shows that Khidmah is the most dominant variable influencing customer satisfaction.

Abstract

This study critically examines the relationship between Law No. 18 of 2019 concerning Pesantren and the realization of economic independence within Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia through the perspective of law and economics. Although the law formally recognizes pesantren as institutions of community empowerment, this article questions whether normative legal recognition is sufficient to create sustainable economic autonomy. The research employs a doctrinal legal method combined with an institutional economics approach, emphasizing incentive structures, transaction costs, institutional governance, and economic sustainability. Data were analyzed through statutory interpretation, conceptual analysis, and institutional evaluation of pesantren economic practices in contemporary Indonesia. The findings demonstrate a significant gap between normative legal expectations and practical implementation. Many pesantren continue to experience structural limitations in access to capital, managerial professionalism, market integration, and institutional competitiveness, resulting in continued dependence on state assistance and donor-based programs. The study further reveals that the effectiveness of pesantren law is strongly influenced by the design of legal-economic incentives, institutional differentiation between resource-rich and resource-poor pesantren, and the integration of pesantren enterprises into the broader Islamic financial ecosystem. This article argues that economic independence should not be understood as an automatic consequence of legal recognition, but rather as a dynamic and negotiated process involving the interaction of state regulation, market mechanisms, and religious authority. The study contributes to contemporary Islamic legal scholarship by offering an institutional economics framework for pesantren development and proposing policy recommendations focused on incentive-based regulation, tiered Sharia-compliant financing, and sustainable institutional capacity building for pesantren economic transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the gap between members' expectations and perceptions of BMT Mandiri Sejahtera Kranji Lamongan services with the SERVQUAL model approach. The research design used a descriptive quantitative approach involving 41 respondents who were selected purposively. The instrument in the form of a Likert questionnaire was analyzed through gap analysis and paired samples t-test. The results showed that there was the largest negative gap in the reliability dimension (−0.2927), while tangibles and responsiveness had positive gaps. Statistically, some service items show significant differences between perceptions and expectations, so the research hypothesis is accepted. This research strengthens the application of SERVQUAL in the context of Islamic microfinance and emphasizes the importance of services that are in accordance with maqāṣid al-sharīʿah. Implicitly, the results of this study are relevant for improving the quality of BMT services and management policies.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) have developed not only as educational institutions but also as socio-economic institutions that support community welfare through various economic activities. One of the emerging economic institutions is pesantren-based retail, which plays a strategic role in promoting economic self-reliance while embodying Islamic values. This study aimed to analyze the role of pesantren economic institutions from the perspective of maslahah and customer satisfaction through product completeness at Mrican Tuban Department Store. This study employed a quantitative correlational design using convenience sampling Data were collected using a structured questionnaire with five-point Likert-scale items and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, descriptive statistics, and simple linear regression. The results show that product completeness has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.316, indicating that 31.6% of customer satisfaction is influenced by product completeness. From the perspective of Islamic economics, reflects the principle of maslahah by ccessibility, efficiency, and convenience in fulfilling daily needs.
