Abstract

The declining quality of the environment lately requires a change in human’s environmental value and behavior. This change can be achieved through environmental education in schools. Indonesia has recently promoted the Adiwiyata school program to encourage environmental education. This study aims to reveal the dimensions of value (NEP) and behavior (GEB) that occur in students at Adiwiyata school and explain the relationship between the two to evaluate the extent to which Adiwiyata's concepts can interfere with students' thought patterns and behavior. Through principal component analysis and factor analysis, six dimensions of student’s NEP were found in Adiwiyata Elementary School, respectively: "Destructive Interventions", "Conservative Interventions", "Exploitation of Nature", "Environmental Education", "Sustainable Environments", and "Environmental Insights". Besides, four dimensions of student’s GEB were found at Adiwiyata Elementary School, respectively: "Pro-Environmental Attitudes (Individual)", "Pro-Environmental Attitudes (Group)", "Waste of Natural Resources & Energy", and "Efficiency of Natural Resources & Energy". Furthermore, correlation analysis shows that these values and behavior tend to only be realized in the school environment.

Abstract

On a city scale, public spaces are often an effective place for urban people to carry out various activities and social interactions. In this space, people can carry out their various needs, both physical needs such as sports, gathering, work, and spiritual needs such as relaxation, getting out from everyday boredom, and so on. This study aims to determine how the grouping of activities that occur in a public space based on time, intensity of visits, and the age of visitors. This research applied an exploratory qualitative grounded theory approach. After the data was collected through an online questionnaire, the data was processed in three stages, namely open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The results of the study revealed that there are four large groups of activities that are usually carried out in public spaces based on time, intensity, and age. The four groups are groups of health, hobby, relaxation, and lust activities.

Abstract

The existence of a dining room is now rarely found in some residences. Some people who do not have a dining room will be forced to use a room to carry out eating activities. In comparison, other people use the dining room to do other activities. It shows that the existence of space reflects the behaviour of the occupants in living. This study will compare community activities with residential conditions with a dining room and those without a dining room. This study aims to reveal the differences and activities most often carried out in the two conditions. Then all these activities will be classified based on the theory of affordance. This research method uses a sequential mixed-method approach by distributing online questionnaires. The data collected were analyzed using principal component analysis and analysis of the mean latent variables to find the most dominant variable. Based on the study results, the most dominant activity carried out in residential areas that have a dining room is only eating activities. Meanwhile, residential areas that do not have a dining room include learning, working, relaxing and household activities.

Abstract

Best tourism facilities will be able to compete and be long last time if the planning consider sense of visitor loyalty. A sense of loyalty if related in agro-tourism planning can be interpreted as an intention to revisit and feel comfortable after visitor had a tour. Regarding such a case, this study aimed to find out the correlational relationship between motivation and activity to the intention revisit and feel comfortable in the visited agro-tourism areas. This research used a mixed-method approach (qualitative – quantitative) with data was collected online in an open – ended and close – ended questionnaire. The collected data then analyzed by qualitatively used content analysis and quantitatively used principal component analysis, factor analysis, and multivariate correlation analysis. The results showed that intention to revisit and feel comfortable were influenced by tow factor, there are relaxation as push factor and natural attraction as pull factor

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Preference is a choice of an object that reflects individual perceptions and attitudes. These perceptions and attitudes tend to be constant so that there is a possibility of similarities in individual clothing and housing preferences. This research is a preliminary study to explore the similarities between fashion and architecture from clothing and residential preferences. This research is qualitative exploratory research with a grounded theory approach—data collection using online questionnaires with a non-random sampling method. The collected text data were analyzed using content analysis (open coding). The results have revealed the similarities between the various factors that are considered in choosing clothes and housing. The study results have also identified eight-factor categories, namely image, comfort, mood, materiality, cleanliness, economy, convenience, and function, and various new keywords that affect individual preferences for clothing and housing

Abstract

The hospital building is designed to fulfill and accommodate every user's needs, namely patient and general users/visitors. The users discussed in this research are patients and general users. This research aims to determine preferences (reasons for choosing), perceptions (strengths and weaknesses), and user’s expectations (patients and general users) of Mother & Child Hospital. The research was conducted qualitatively using a grounded theory approach. Data were collected using an online questionnaire containing open-ended main questions and distributed freely (non-random sampling). The collected data analyzed qualitatively using the content analysis (open coding) method. The result show Mother & Children Hospital’s patient and general user’s differences in preferences, perception, and expectations on visual architectural aspects, non-visual architectural aspects, and non-architectural aspects. The preferences, perceptions, and expectations of patients and general users tend to be non-architectural in terms of their preferences. There is only one difference, it's in the general user's perception of the Mother & Children Hospital's weakness, where the perception lies in the visual architectural aspect. The tendency for patients and general users are found in the category of service, facilities, quality of medical personnel, location, and parking.

Abstract

Global climate change has increased the frequency and intensity of hydrometeorological disasters, particularly floods in urban areas of Indonesia. High settlement density, inadequate drainage systems, and limited community preparedness further exacerbate flood vulnerability. Although various flood mitigation strategies have been implemented, the relationship between mitigation effectiveness, perceptions of community participation, and community readiness remains insufficiently examined through quantitative approaches, limiting the development of effective community-based interventions. This study analyses the influence of flood mitigation efforts—specifically adaptive capacity—and perceptions of community participation on community readiness, measured through risk literacy and structural preparedness. A mixed-methods approach was applied, combining factor analysis to identify latent dimensions and linear regression to examine relationships between variables. Data were collected from questionnaires administered to residents with prior flood experience and analysed using JMP software. The results indicate that Adaptive Capacity has a positive and significant effect on Structural Preparedness (β = 0.3930; p < 0.0001) and Risk Literacy (β = 0.3765; p < 0.0001). The Governance dimension of participation also shows a positive and significant influence on Structural Preparedness (β = 0.2499; p = 0.0170). In contrast, the Environmental Action dimension exhibits a negative and significant relationship with Risk Literacy (β = –0.3070; p = 0.0019). These findings suggest that community readiness is more strongly influenced by adaptive capacity and participatory governance than by physical environmental actions alone. The study highlights the need to integrate technical and social approaches and to strengthen risk literacy to enhance long-term community resilience to flood risks.
