Abstract

The research aimed to strengthen the future sense of place by focusing on the sense of place components, namely, physical, social, personal, and shared meaning aspects, as input to local stakeholders. The sense of place of Borobudur Temple stimulated visitors to attend the tourism area at the heritage site, whose potential could be strengthened by promoting the local creative economy and its identity. The research provided theoretical benefits as a basis for further research and practical benefits as input for stakeholders to strengthen the identity of heritage areas. The research was a solution to preserving the historical value of this region in both physical and social aspects in order to strengthen the place’s character as the stalwart of the Borobudur area as a world heritage artifact. The discoveries would clear up the area’s function as Borobudur’s shopping excursion area in a local identity context. Data were collected through structured observation, in-depth online interviews, photos, videos, literature studies, and a manual data analysis procedure. The results show that physical attributes, such as site, build form, and landmark, need improvements. Moreover, social interaction, pedestrian flows, product, personal and shared meanings, comprising history, narration, and event and promotion, should be improved. Further studies should focus on how to improve architecture, modern product variations, and local music. Furthermore, the sense of place will be increased by understanding the services cape of Borobudur Food and Craft Market.

Abstract

Physical design studio (PDS) and live critique sessions are essential elements in design school pedagogy. It enables students to construct their socio-spatial ability through creativity and rationality in a simultaneous way. However, due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, all teaching and learning activities must be conducted remotely in a virtual design studio (VDS). Unfortunately, VDS could be a placeless place for the students and significantly affects their overall learning experience. ‘Sense of Place’, or the people-place engagement, is an important concept in the virtual learning context from the cognitive, affective, and conative domain. VDS not merely provide the ‘place’, but should be able to support dynamic social interactions between students and the tutors as well as to conduct pedagogical activities. Without ‘Sense of Place’, the emotional and psychological engagement in creating learning experiences could not be fulfilled. This paper reviews the previous studies that concentrate on the pedagogical method and ‘Sense of Place’ in VDS at a higher education level. There are several strategies for constructing ‘Sense of Place’ in a VDS. Those are humanization, socialization, the presence of a teacher, guiding structure, graphic tools used, and the student contribution during the learning process. Another strategy is to blend both online and classroom that encourages teachings with multiple learning styles. This conceptualization of ‘Sense of Place’ in VDS is beneficial in further research with empirical data.

Abstract

Apendicitis adalah peradangan dari apendiks vermiformis yang menyebabkan usus berhenti mengeluarkan sisa makanan yang tidak diserap oleh tubuh sehingga dilakukan Apendictomy dimana terjadi nyeri akut pada level severe. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik relaksasi Guided Imagery Music terhadap intensitas nyeri post operasi apendicitis di ruang rawat inap bedah RSPAD Gatot Soebroto Ditkesad Jakarta. Desain penelitian menggunakan purposive sampling dengan rancangan random assignment pre test-post test with control group. Jumlah sampel adalah 36 orang (18 orang kelompok kontrol dan 18 orang kelompok intervensi). Nyeri diukur dengan menggunakan Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) dan Faces Pain Scale Resived (FPSR). Uji statistik menggunakan uji T test independen. Hasil uji menunjukkan ada pengaruh teknik relaksasi Guided Imagery Music terhadap intensitas nyeri pada klien post operasi Apendicitis. Perbedaan rata-rata intensitas nyeri pada kelompok kontrol sebesar 1,55 dan pada kelompok intervensi sebesar 3,17. Variabel confounding telah dilakukan uji normalitas didapatkan hasil tidak ada hubungan usia, jenis kelamin, koping, individu pendukung, lingkungan, pengalaman nyeri sebelumnya terhadap intensitas nyeri, ini dikarenakan klien tidak mampu mengalihkan perhatian dari rasa nyeri yang hebat post operasi apendicitis, sehingga hasil statistik nya tidak perlu dilakukan transformasi. Teknik relaksasi Guided Imagery Music dapat digunakan sebagai intervensi mandiri keperawatan untuk mengurangi intensitas nyeri klien post operasi apendicitis. Abstract

This research aims to find the push factors that create relationships between youth and shopping centers and examines how different mall environments also help create different emotional bonds towards the malls. This topic is further observed with an explorative study that obtained its primary data from interviews and secondary data from various supporting literatures as well as from a number of observations. The informants were 15 visitors of each of the following shopping centers: Tunjungan Plaza and Ciputra World in Surabaya; and Mal Ciputra and Gandaria City in Jakarta. The total informant number is 60. The research found several affective factors that support the formation of place attachment: physical factors that lead to indirect place attachment, social factors or social interactions that happen in the shopping center, cultural factors, personal factors (including gender, race and ethnicity), memories and experience, place satisfaction, interaction and activity features, and time factor. The different age of shopping centers also had an effect to the factors present.

Abstract

AbstractThis study discusses self-efficacy in Generation Z in Surabaya in the perspective of therapeutic photography. Aims to find out the phenomenon of Generation Z decreased self-efficacy in Surabaya and how this problem can be seen through therapeutic photography. The method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The results of the study were that the majority of six respondents experienced mild symptoms of depression as well as decreased self-efficacy and therapeutic photography could be a supplement to increase self-efficacy. Further research needs to be done with the design of therapeutic photography to find out more clearly about healing and increasing self-efficacy.Keywords: depression, self efficacy, terapeutik photography   AbstrakPenelitian ini membahas tentang efikasi diri pada generasi Z di Surabaya dalam perspektif fotografi terapeutik. Bertujuan untuk mengetahui fenomena menurunnya efikasi diri pada generasi Z di Surabaya dan bagaimana masalah tersebut dapat dipahami melalui perspektif fotografi terapeutik. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian adalah dari enam responden mayoritas mengalami gejala depresi ringan (mild) serta penurunan efikasi diri dan fotografi terapeutik dapat menjadi suplemen untuk meningkatkan efikasi diri. Penelitian lebih lanjut perlu dilakukan dengan perancangan fotografi terapeutik untuk mengetahui lebih jelas efek healing dan peningkatan efikasi diri.Kata kunci: depresi, efikasi diri, fotografi terapeutik

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi keunikan tempat atau sense of place dari Pasar Barang Antik Triwindo Surakarta, khususnya pada faktor fisik dan sosialnya. Penelitian kualitatif ini dilaksanakan dengan pengambilan data melalui focus group discussion pengunjung, studi literatur dan dokumen, observasi dan dokumentasi visual. Informan dalam  focus group discussion berjumlah 11 orang yaitu pengelola, pengunjung dan juga pedagang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor faktor-faktor  fisik  pembentuk sense of place Pasar Triwindu  adalah arsitektur dan kawasan (fasad bangunan menggambarkan arsitektur rumah Jawa, kawasan Ngarsopuro yang unik, ornamen ukiran khas Jawa pada fasad, patung Roro Blonyo pada gerbang pasar dan patung topeng pada halaman), interior (pengelompokan area berdasarkan jenis barang dagangan, display barang dagangan pada elemen ruang dinding, pembatas lapak, tangga dan plafon, batas lapak pada lantai, signage, lebar koridor), dan varian produk dagangan. Sedangkan faktor sosial adalah history dan memory, narasi pohon sawo kecik, karakter pedagang dan pengunjung, aktivitas even kuliner dan promosi.

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the representation of a sense of place for a traditional shopping place on social media, both in the form of visual and narrative media. The research object was the Malioboro shopping area as represented on social media posts. The theoretical contribution of this research is as a literature review on the representation of sense of place in the Malioboro shopping area, while the practical contribution of this research is as a reference for policymakers or the government in formulating the development policy of traditional shopping streets on social media. This research was qualitative in nature, with Instagram as the data source. All posts and videos with captions were analyzed to explore the Malioboro Corridor’s physical attributes, social activities, and shared meaning. Abstract

Artikel ini berisi tentang rancangan desain interior fasilitas umum SMP Negeri 3 Peterongan yang berlokasi di Jombang. Sebagai sebuah sekolah dengan latar belakang pondok pesantren maka kaidah-kaidah Agama Islam tercermin di setiap kegiatan pembelajaran maupun aktivitas di dalam sekolah sehingga siswa-siswi dibentuk tidak hanya dari segi akademis saja namun juga dibentuk dalam hal kerohanian guna membentuk pribadi yang cerdas, agamis, berakhlak mulia. SMP Negeri 3 Peterongan juga ditunjuk sebagai sekolah Adiwiyata sehingga banyak terdapat fasilitas area terbuka hijau untuk mengakomodasi berbagai kegiatan yang menunjang sebagai sekolah Adiwiyata. Hal ini yang digunakan oleh Skema Studio sebagai tolok ukur dalam mendesain SMP Negeri 3 Peterongan dengan memperhatikan setiap kegiatan dan sirkulasi siswa-siswi, guru, maupun staf sekolah agar dapat merancang desain dengan pola sirkulasi yang tepat. Dengan mengangkat desain berbasis enviromental behaviour diharapkan mampu menghadirkan desain dengan nuansa alami.

Abstract

In this modern era, after the end of the pandemic, cafes are back as the third space of choice forthe majority of urban communities. Of ices and homes are no longer a priority as a place to do of ice tasks orschool and campus assignments. The purpose of this study is to see visitors' perceptions of the interior of DeMandailing cafe in West Surabaya whether physical and social factors af ect the increase in productivitywhile working in the cafe. The research method was carried out by means of a case study to 100 people withan age limit of 18-40 years, where they filled out a survey to determine place attachment based on physical factors and social factors. Physical factors include cleanliness aroma, natural lighting, artificial lighting, furniture comfort, music and acoustics, the decor used, and social factors include the desire to stay long, feeling a sense of belonging, the ability to feel territorial, having feelings of trust for staf , increasedproductivity, the desire and opportunity to socialize with others. The conclusion obtained in terms of physical factors, the design in the cafe succeeds in attracting visitors to enter and is comfortable to work and socializewith others. In terms of social factors, it is also quite supportive, but still needs to improve the design sothat it becomes a stimuli to encourage socialization activities. Abstract

Preservasi Sense of Place atau keunikan lokal pada pasar pariwisata dengan produk-produk kreatif penting dilakukan untuk pembangunan pariwisata Indonesia. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memotret keunikan lokal dari berbagai daerah dan menyajikannya secara modern dalam bentuk website. Harapannya, website ini dapat memudahkan calon turis untuk mengenal keindahan pariwisata Indonesia. Proses aktivitas dilakukan dalam dua tahap yaitu proses eksplorasi pasar kreatif dan proses desain website. Proses eksplorasi pasar kreatif dilakukan secara kualitatif pada lokasi-lokasi pasar di seluruh Indonesia dan proses desain website dilakukan dengan proses design thinking untuk menghasilkan website yang dapat optimal dipergunakan. Hasil dari perancangan website telah melalui uji coba terbatas dan mendapatkan nilai cukup baik. Proses pengabdian masyarakat melalui website berbasis konsep sense of place pasar kreatif kawasan pariwisata telah tuntas dikerjakan. Beberapa hal yang perlu ditindaklanjuti yaitu eksplorasi pengembangan website dari segi fitur-fitur, misalnya penambahan lokasi-lokasi lain di Indonesia untuk melengkapi website ini. Selain itu perlu ada diversifikasi pengabdian dalam bentuk perancangan teknologi terkait obyek, seperti aplikasi yang dapat meningkatkan penjualan industri kreatif dan meningkatkan awareness pada pariwisata Indonesia. Selanjutnya, dapat dikembangkan fitur interaktif, berbasis virtual reality yang dapat menggambarkan kondisi asli sehingga pengunjung dapat menikmati pengalaman visual langsung, dan dapat pula dilengkapi dengan event yang aktual.
