Abstract

Kayong Utara Regency, particularly Sukadana District, possesses a high diversity of local durian genetic resources. However, their documentation, educational utilization, and the availability of contextual teaching materials remain limited, resulting in biology learning that is not yet optimally connected to students' surrounding environment. This study aimed to analyze the potential of local durian diversity in Sukadana District as a biology learning resource using a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through field observations, interviews with 120 durian farmers and traders, documentation, and questionnaires distributed to five biology teachers. The data were analyzed descriptively to identify the characteristics, classification, and suitability of local durians as biology learning resources. The results identified six local durian varieties with high morphological diversity that met the criteria as biology learning resources and have the potential to support contextual learning on biodiversity topics. The teachers' evaluation yielded an overall score of 82% (excellent) based on the aspects of clarity, target suitability, alignment with learning objectives, information clarity, exploration guidelines, and expected learning outcomes, indicating that local durians are highly relevant as biology learning resources. Therefore, local durians in Sukadana District have strong potential to be developed as contextual and meaningful biology learning resources, particularly for biodiversity topics.

Abstract

Learning in the industrial era 4.0 requires students to be able to have critical thinking skills, creative, communicative, collaborative, meaningful, interesting, applicable, adaptive, and contextual, and have selling points to foster student entrepreneurship. Biology is one of the subjects that can be applied to foster students' entrepreneurial spirit through Biopreneur activities. The entrepreneurial attitude of students cannot just grow but must be instilled early. Based on the results of observations and interviews with biology teachers at SMAIT AL-FITYAN Kubu Raya, information was obtained that students had never been given learning about biopreneurs. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out Biopreneur service activities for making cheese using kandis acid as a coagulant to replace rennet to foster students' entrepreneurial attitudes at SMAIT AL-FITIYAN. The methods that will be used in the service activities are; giving pre-test, socialization activities about cheese and the use of kandis acid; cheese making training; and evaluation of service activities by giving post-tests and response questionnaires. Based on the results of the questionnaire analysis, information was obtained that 100% of the participants had never participated in similar activities and thought that the material provided was new and the material that had been given was easy to practice again. As for the clarity of the material, the participants gave a very good response with a score of 81.25%. Participants also gave a very good response with a score of 100% regarding the location of activities that were easy to reach. For the services provided by the committee, participants gave a very good response of 100%. Based on the results of the activity, it can be concluded that the training provided was able to increase the participants' knowledge by 12.8% and the average participant response to the activity was 90.62% with a very good category. Thus, the training conducted can run effectively

Abstract

Early childhood teachers play an important role in instilling character, creativity, and environmental awareness from an early age. However, many Aisyiyah kindergarten teachers in Pontianak still find it difficult to develop creative, environmentally friendly, and locally-based learning media. This community service activity aims to improve teachers' skills through training in the creation of recycled learning media based on the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). The implementation methods include needs identification, concept and practice training, mentoring, and evaluation of results. The activity was held on October 14, 2025, at Aisyiyah 3 Kindergarten in Pontianak, attended by 42 ABA kindergarten teachers. Teachers used materials such as coconut leaves, coconut husks, corn husks, and ice cream sticks to create media themed on West Kalimantan culture, such as traditional houses and headdresses. The results showed an increase in teachers' skills and creativity, with 90% of participants able to produce ready-to-use media.

Abstract

This community service program conducted at SMPIT Az-Zahira Khatulistiwa, Kubu Raya, aims to enhance the entrepreneurial literacy, creativity, and independence of both students and teachers. This objective was achieved through training in fermentation-based Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) production, positioning it as an economically valuable product derived from local potential, while concurrently implementing the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). The implementation methodology encompassed several stages: socialization, the delivery of conceptual materials on entrepreneurship and food safety, hands-on practice in VCO production, and packaging mentoring. The active participation of the attendees yielded positive outcomes, evidenced by a significant increase in their conceptual understanding from 42% to 85%. Furthermore, beyond acquiring technical proficiency in VCO production, the participants demonstrated enhanced entrepreneurial characteristics, including creativity, collaboration, and responsibility. In conclusion, this training has proven highly effective as a contextual learning medium, successfully honing 21st-century skills while simultaneously integrating the noble values of Pancasila.
