Abstract

Defects in bone tissue represent a significant health concern and continue to pose challenges in clinical surgery. The fabrication of scaffolds from hydroxyapatite (HAp) can support bone regeneration. However, producing HAp scaffolds with ideal pore structures for effective bone tissue engineering remains difficult. In recent decades, many studies have attempted to enhance HAp scaffolds by incorporating polymeric materials to address their limitations. In this study, corn starch was used as a pore-forming agent, and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) served as a binder and pore size regulator. The scaffolds were fabricated using the freeze-drying method, which offers the advantage of forming porous structures while maintaining scaffold integrity. This study investigated the effects of varying PVA additions which 3 wt%, 7 wt%, and 10 wt%. XRD analysis showed that the diffraction peaks of all samples corresponded to the HAp phase, displayed β-TCP peaks, and a crystal size with values ranging from 0.96 nm to 11.77 nm.  SEM analysis showed that the HAp-7 scaffold has the largest pore size distribution range of about 1.19 µm to 11.77 µm.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tetang green synthesis nanopartikel berbasis pasir besi Sungai Batanghari dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak daun pandan (Pandanus Amaryllifolius). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari variasi konsentrsi ekstrak daun pandan terhadap nanopartikel Fe3O4. Uji karakterisasi yang lakukan adalah uji XRD dan uji UV-Vis. Hasil analisis  uji XRD menunjukan bahwa pola difraksi 2θ yang terletak pada sampel berturut-turut Fe3O4 , NP1, NP2, NP3, yaitu pada  35,51˚; 35,41˚; 35,49˚; dan 35,53˚ dengan bidang kristal (311). Ukuran kristal berturut-turut 13,83 nm; 26,80 nm; 13,86 nm; dan 25,30 nm. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa pada sampel NP1 dan sampel NP2 memiliki ukuran kristal lebih besar dibandingkan dengan sampel NP2. Nilai dari sampel NP2 hampir sama dengan ukuran kristal dari Fe3O4 tanpa tambahan ekstrak. Berdasarkan uji karakterisasi UV-Vis nanopartikel Fe3O4 menunjukan energy gap (Eg) yang elalui metode touc plot. Dengan nilai direct badgap berturut-turut 4,2 eV;  4,8 eV; dan 4,4 eV untuk sampel Fe3O4 , NP1, NP3 . Nilai indirect bandgap berturut-turut 3,9 eV; 4,1 eV; dan 3.7 eV untuk sampel Fe3O4 , NP1, NP3.

Abstract

Limited face-to-face learning requires teachers to have alternative solutions in packaging the delivery of learning materials more interestingly and not making students feel bored. Teachers have difficulty in creating learning media that is suitable for students so that students who take part in learning activities are less enthusiastic. Efforts that can be made to overcome this problem can be done by upgrading the use of wondershare as an attractive, effective, and efficient learning medium. The purpose of this upgrading activity is to maximize the quality of learning in the classroom. The upgrading participants were science teachers in Sungaipuh and the place where the community service was held at SMP Negeri 1 Sungaipuh, Kerinci. After participating in upgrading activities, teachers can innovate in developing alternative learning media by making attractive learning videos. The positive effect of this activity is that learning can be carried out in a more interesting and less boring way.

Abstract

Education and learning globally has undergone a change from an era focused on direct learning to blended learning. The pandemic has also contributed to the pattern of learning that was originally online and then directed to return to semi-online offline learning. online. This learning adaptation phenomenon is also felt in the learning process of high school teachers in Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency, Jambi Province. East Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province. Teachers have their own challenges to design learning activities that learning activities that can restore learners' interest and attention when attending face-to-face classes. Based on these conditions, a service activity was carried out that focused on training on the use of Flip PDF as a teaching material maker application and equipped with the use of mentimeter.com as one of the options for making interactive presentation media in learning. making interactive presentation media in learning. This training conducted at SMA N 8 Tanjung Jabung Timur. Teachers are given training on the use of Flip PDF as an electronic teaching material in learning in the first session. Teachers also gained experience in creating interactive presentation media through the site mentimeter.com. After participating in the activities, teachers have additional skills related to making teaching materials and interactive presentation media and interactive presentation media during the learning process. Training in the use of Flip PDF and Mentimeter can be an important step in improving the quality of learning in improving the quality of learning in the digital era. This approach gives educators a powerful tool to create a more interactive and engaging learning experiences that are more interactive and engaging. Thus, efforts to improvequality of education can be continuously improved through the effective use of technology.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are essential in physics education, particularly in understanding abstract concepts like wave functions in quantum mechanics. However, traditional teaching methods often fail to foster these skills effectively. This study explores the use of an interactive e-module titled Quantum Physics: Wave Function to enhance critical thinking skills among students in a physics education program. A quasi-experimental design was employed with an experimental group using the e-module and a control group following conventional methods. Pretest and posttest results showed a significant improvement in critical thinking skills for the experimental group (average increase: 26.30) compared to the control group (average increase: 11.70). Statistical analysis confirmed the e-module's effectiveness (t = 2.95, p = 0.01). The e-module fostered active participation, problem-solving, and independent exploration, demonstrating its potential to improve critical thinking and engagement in complex physics topics. These findings highlight the value of integrating technology into physics education to enhance learning outcomes.

Abstract

The study, conducted in response to the shortcomings of the digital learning system in facilitating the Physics learning process with the project based learning model. So the purpose of this study is to develop a Teacher Tools Assistance System  website as an answer to this problem. This study adopts the RnD method with the ADDIE model development framework focused on three stages, namely analysis, design, and development. The analysis stage examines the curriculum and learning environment. At the design stage, a prototype of the Teacher Tools Assistance System website is produced which is then tested at the development stage. The development stage is carried out with various tests, namely the Black-Box test, installation/launch, validation by media experts and material experts, and user responses involving 58 students of SMAN 3 Kota Jambi class XI. As a result, in the Black Box test, the website functionality achieved 100% on the teacher's page and 96% on the student's page. In the media expert validation, the score given was 4.44, which was categorized as very feasible. While the validation by material experts 1 and 2 rated it 4.50 and 4.47, categorizing it as very feasible category. In addition, the response from users gave a score of 4.20 in the category of worthy of the product. However, there are still shortcomings including the appearance of the website, website navigation that is not yet user friendly, and the emergence of bugs.

Abstract

AbstrakGuru harus mampu menulis karya ilmiah untuk meningkatkan karir dan memajukan pengembangan profesinya. Namun, kurangnya pengetahuan dan pengalaman menyebabkan banyak guru kesulitan dalam menulis karya ilmiah. Kegiatan pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru-guru dalam menulis dan mempublikasikan karya ilmiah. Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 7 Agustus 2023 di SMAN 8 Tanjung Jabung Timur yang dihadiri oleh 12 peserta. Pelaksanaan kegiatan terdiri dari tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Metode yang digunakan terdiri dari metode ceramah, diskusi, penugasan dan pendampingan. Metode ceramah dilakukan terkait pemberian pengetahuan teoretis dan praktis penulisan karya ilmiah, metode penugasan terkait pembuatan karya ilmiah dan pembimbingan teknis publikasi di jurnal ilmiah.  Hasil kegiatan PKM menunjukkan bahwa peserta memberikan respon yang positif terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan. Selain itu, kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan pemahaman guru-guru dalam menulis karya ilmiah dan mempublikasikannya ke jurnal-jurnal ilmiah. Kata kunci: kompetensi; karya ilmiah; publikasi. Abstract Teachers must be able to write scientific papers to improve their careers and advance their professional development. However, the lack of knowledge and experience causes many teachers to struggle in writing scientific papers. This training activity aims to overcome the problems faced by teachers in writing and publishing scientific papers. The training activity was held on August 7, 2023 at SMAN 8 Tanjung Jabung Timur which was attended by 12 participants. The implementation of the activity consisted of preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The methods used consisted of lectures, discussions, assignments and mentoring. The lecture method was carried out related to providing theoretical and practical knowledge of writing scientific papers, the assignment method related to making scientific papers and technical guidance for publication in scientific journals. The results of the PKM activities showed that the participants gave a positive response to the implementation of the activities. In addition, this activity can increase the understanding of teachers in writing scientific papers and publishing them in scientific journals. Keywords: competence; scientific work; publication.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of exposure parameter variations in CT-Scan on image quality and radiation dose during thoracic examinations. The exposure parameters analyzed were tube voltages of 80, 100, and 120 kV, along with tube currents of 100, 200, and 300 mA. A quantitative approach was employed using a Cannon TOS air phantom at the Radiology Department of Bhayangkara Hospital Jambi with a Toshiba 16-slice CT-Scan unit. Radiation dose was obtained from CTDIvol  values displayed on the CT console, while image quality was evaluated using the Contrast to Noise Ratio (CNR) calculated with RadiAnt DICOM Viewer software. The research method included obtaining the Computed Tomography Dose Index volume (CTDIvol) directly from the scanner console for each exposure setting, while the Contrast-to-Noise Ratio (CNR) was calculated by measuring the mean intensity of the region of interest (ROI) on the phantom and the standard deviation of the background area to quantify image contrast relative to noise. The findings demonstrate that both tube voltage and current strongly influence CTDIvol and CNR. Higher exposure settings increased radiation dose, with several combinations exceeding the recommended safety threshold. At 100 mA, all tube voltages remained below the BAPETEN regulatory limit of 11 mGy for non-contrast thoracic scans. Similarly, 200 mA at 80 and 100 kV remained within safe limits, while 200 mA at 120 kV slightly exceeded the threshold. Doses rose markedly at 300 mA, particularly at 120 kV, reaching values far above the permissible limit.

Abstract

In the digital era, the ability to process and analyze experimental data has become an important skill in the field of materials science and engineering. Origin is a commercial software widely used for numerical data analysis and scientific visualization, while ImageJ is open-source software that functions in image processing of microscopic characterization results. Considering the importance of mastering both software, a socialization activity and basic training on the use of Origin and ImageJ was held for students of the Physics Study Program, Faculty of Science, University of Jambi. This activity aims to enable students to operate the software in processing research data independently and in accordance with scientific publication standards. Evaluation of the training was carried out by assessing the level of student understanding, which showed an increase in basic skills in using Origin for quantitative data analysis and ImageJ for digital image analysis.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji literatur mengenai model problem based learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan buku-buku dan jurnal-jurnal terkait kemudian dibaca dan dikaji. Setelah data terkumpul, dilakukan pengujian dan perbandingan data yang ditemukan. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan pengutipan pendapat-pendapat yang sesuai. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa model problem based learning merupakan model yang sangat baik digunakan dalam pembelajaran fisika dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Hal tersebut terlihat dari banyaknya teori belajar yang mendukung model problem based learning dan berhasil dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa.
