Abstract

Antibacterial tests of Ag/SBA-15 from petung bamboo leaf ash against Escherichia coli were carried out. Modification of SBA-15 with Ag was conducted using the wet impregnation method while the antibacterial test was carried out by well diffusion method and disc diffusion method with various concentrations of Ag/SBA-15. The Ag/SBA-15 has a surface area of ​​143 m2/g, pore diameter of 8.4 nm and pore volume of 0.35 cm3/g. The SAXS pattern of Ag /SBA-15 showed 3 typical SBA-15 peaks in the 0o -2o 2θ range with the miller index [100], [110] and [200], indicating modification with Ag did not change the hexagonal structure of SBA-15. Ag / SBA-15 material has the potential as an antibacterial agent for Escherichia coli; the inhibitory zone diameters for the well diffusion method and disc diffusion method were 7.00 ± 0.57 mm and 13.16 ± 0.16 mm, respectively. Increasing the concentration of Ag/SBA-15 samples resulted in greater inhibitory zone diameters for the bacteria.

Abstract

Sebagai salah satu faktor penting dalam pendidikan, guru harus meningkatkan pengetahuan, baik teoritis maupun keterampilan, seperti praktik laboratorium, terutama untuk guru biologi. Berdasarkan hal ini, tujuan program pengabdian masyarakat adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan teoritis dan praktis guru biologi SMA. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini diikuti oleh 30 guru dari berbagai SMA di Samarinda. Teori tentang ekstraksi, penyaringan, dan teknik uji antimikrobia dari sumber daya alam dilakukan di ruang kelas, sedangkan penggunaan rotary evaporator, freeze drying, skrining uji fitokimia, dan uji antimikrobia dilakukan di laboratorium yang dibantu oleh teknisi laboratorium. Setelah menerima program pengabdian masyarakat ini, nilai rata-rata kepuasan yang diberikan oleh para guru melalui kuisioner yaitu: (skala 5) sebanyak 49%, baik (skala 4) sebanyak 47%, cukup (nilai skala 3) ) sebesar 5% dan lebih kecil (skala nilai 2) sebesar 1%. Kesimpulan, kegiatan pengabdian ini berjalan dengan baik dan mempunyai manfaat baik bagi guru biologi SMA di Samarinda.

Abstract

After 2 years of pandemic which caused by corona virus and followed by Restrictions Towards Community Activities (PPKM) was issued by government, has caused negative impact on various sector of community life. The impact on economic sector of society was quite large. Hence, community economic wheels which disrupted by laid off / stay home policy, needs to be maintained by offering home business with low budget. One of community empowerment efforts that can be introduced to society is utilization of household waste / small scale / fresh market to keep maggot black soldier fly (BSF). This maggot BSF is kind of clean fly and not classified as disease vector, otherwise it has many benefits as chicken feed, fish feed, substitution for protein feed, bird feed etc. Maggot has become alternative protein as animal feed. After the participant satisfaction test was held, we got participant satisfaction average values, ranged from very good (rated as 5) 60.2 %, good (rated as 4) 38.6%, and fair (rated as 3) 1.2 %. Overall, all participants were greatly satisfied with our presentation about mentioned knowledge and technology.

Abstract

Daun nangka (Atrocarpus heterophyllus Lam.) diketahui mengandung flavonoid, saponin dan tanin yang berperan sebagai senyawa antibakteri, digunakan dalam pengobatan antidiare, demam, bisul, penyakit kulit, analgesic dan imunomodulator. Escherichia coli adalah salah satu contoh bakteri penyebab penyakit di dalam tubuh manusia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol daun nangka (Atrocarpus heterophyllus Lam.) terhadap Escherichia coli. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental. Tahapan penelitian dimulai dengan ekstraksi daun nangka menggunakan metode maserasi dan pelarut etanol 70%. Aktivitas antibakteri diuji menggunakan metode difusi cakram (Kirby-Bauer) dengan konsentrasi ekstrak etanol 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, dan 100%, kontrol positif digunakan kloramfenikol 0,1% dan kontrol negative digunakan akuades. Hasil pengukuran zona hambat ekstrak etanol daun nangka (Atrocarpus heterophyllus Lam.) dengan konsentrasi 40%, 60%, 80% dan 100% terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli secara berurutan sebesar 9,3 mm, 9,8 mm, 10,48 mm dan 11,31 mm. Kloramfenikol 0,1% pada bakteri Escherichia coli sebesar 17,48 mm, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun nangka (Atrocarpus heterophyllus Lam.) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dalam kategori sedang sampai kuat terhadap Escherichia coli. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian dari ekstrak etanol daun nangka terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan dengan konsentrasi 40% merupakan perlakuan dengan konsentrasi hambat minimum. Hal ini didasarkan pada analisa statistik menggunakan Shapiro-wilk test p-value lebih dari 0,05 atau signifikasi lebih dari 0,05. Ini menunjukan bahwa data yang diperoleh berdistribusi normal sehingga dilanjutkan dengan analisis One way ANOVA. Berdasarkan uji tersebut memiliki signifikasi kurang dari 0,05 dengan keputusan yang berarti terdapat perbedaaan bermakna dari hasil perlakuan pada daya hambat antibakteri masing-masing konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun nangka

Abstract

Research Test Antibacterial Activity of Ethanol Extracts of Leaves kecombrang against Salmonella typhi aims to determine the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract of leaves kecombrang against Salmonella typhi. The extract used is kecombrang leaf extract prepared by maceration using ethanol 95%, extracts obtained test chemical classes of compounds to determine the content of the active compound. Antibacterial activity test conducted at five concentrations of the extract is 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. Inhibition zone measurement results are then analyzed using One Way ANOVA with SPSS 20 to determine whether there is a difference at each concentration. The results showed kecombrang leaf ethanol extract 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100% produce inhibition zone diameter 3.9 mm; 6.5 mm; 6.75 mm; 7:45 mm; and 9:28 mm, 0 mm for the negative control and positive control 32.61 mm. The test results show the class of secondary metabolites kecombrang leaf ethanol extract contains tannin, saponin, and flavonoids. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of long simplicia Apah’s leaves (Albertisia papuana Becc.) that’s used as a food’s flavoring by people of Kab. Tana Tidung against microbial contamination numbers. The design of research used a pattern completely randomized design (RAL), with a dilution series of samples 10-8, 10-9 and 10-10 and different boiling’s level (5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 minutes). The results obtained that the longer of boiling process is used, then the less the number of microbial contamination of colony growth. Average number of microbial contamination in samples in the boiling of 5 minutes is 92 x 1010 microbial colonies, in boiling 10 minutes is 87 x 1010 microbial colonies, in boiling 15 minutes is 56 x 1010 microbial colonies, in boiling 20 min is 44 x 1010 colonies of microbes and the boiling simplicia infuse for 25 minutes is 33 x 1010 colonies of microbes. Based of Analysis variance variety in each treatment showed that in boiling 20 minutes and 25 minutes showed real significant difference (p <0.05), but the boiling 5, 10 and 15 minutes there was no significant difference (P> 0.05). The results of the Anova, showed that in boiling treatment of simplicia Apah’s leaves (Albertisia papuana Becc.) significantly affects the growth of microbial colonies. Abstract

Kerehau (Callicarpa longifolia Lam) is a plant that has traditionally efficacious as a cure colds and diarrhea. Part used as medicine are the leaves. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract of leaves kerehau on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Kerehau leaf extract prepared by maceration method using ethanol 70%, with a test concentration of 10%, 25%, 50%, and 100% and chloramphenicol 0.1% (w / v) as a positive control and dimethyl sulfoxide 1% (v / v) as a negative control. The results of antibacterial activity test with extract concentrations of 25%, 50% and 100% in Escherichia coli is 9.45 mm, 12.21 mm and 17.38 mm, for the positive control is 21.85 mm. The results of antibacterial activity test with extract concentrations of 10%, 25%, 50% and 100% in Staphylococcus aureus was 7.3 mm, 9.85 mm, 13.65 mm and 20.58 mm, for the positive control was 24.05 mm. The antibacterial activity was analyzed by One Way ANOVA showed significant differences between treatments

Abstract

Sugarcane juice beverage is a beverage that is found along the village Sempaja and Pelita roads. Contamination in processed beverages derived from sugarcane juice and equipment used allow for contamination by coliform bacteria. The purpose of this study to investigate the contamination of coliform bacteria in water beverage sugar circulating in the village Sempaja and Pelita. Tests using the Most Probable Number (MPN) includes test estimators using lactose broth as the presumptive medium and Brillian Green Lactose Bile Broth as the confirmad medium. The results showed that eight samples tested positive for coliform contaminated with a high of 2800×101 MPN / mL (sample H) and the lowest value 170×101 MPN/mL (sample D). The results obtained show that the sugarcane juice drinks that supply does not meet the standards of Rule Head POM HK.00.06.1.52.4011 No. 2009 with standard quality requirements of 2×101colonies/mL.
