Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan kombinasi arang aktif sekam padi dan zeolit sebagai adsorben dalam mengadsorpsi ion logam Cr(VI) dan mempelajari pengaruh komposisi adsorben kombinasi arang aktif sekam padi dan zeolit dalam mengadsorpsi ion logam Cr(VI), serta sensitivitas metode solid-phase spectrophotometry (SPS) untuk menentukan penurunan kadar ion logam Cr(VI) dalam skala μg/L. Arang aktif sekam padi yang digunakan diperoleh melalui proses aktivasi dengan perendaman dalam larutan ZnCl2 10% sedangkan zeolit menggunakan larutan H2SO4 10%. Pengontakan adsorben dengan ion logam Cr(VI) dilakukan dengan variasi komposisi adsorben arang aktif  sekam padi dan zeolit  1:1, 1:2, 1:3, dan 2:1. Analisis kadar Cr(VI) dilakukan menggunakan metode solid-phase spectrophotometry (SPS). Karakterisasi arang aktif sekam padi dan zeolit dilakukan menggunakan FTIR. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kombinasi arang aktif sekam padi dan zeolit dapat digunakan sebagai adsorben dalam mengadsorpsi ion logam Cr(VI) dengan kapasitas adsorpsi 0,28 µg/g; (2) komposisi optimum adsorben adalah 1:2 dengan persentase penyerapan sebesar 40,99%; (3) solid-phase spectrophotometry (SPS) merupakan metode yang sensitif untuk analisis penurunan kadar  ion Cr(VI) dalam tingkat µg/L dengan Limit of Detection (LOD) sebesar 0,021 µg/L. Kata kunci : adsorpsi, Cr(VI), arang aktif sekam padi, zeolit, solid-phase spectrophotometry Abstract This study aims to study the use of activated rice husk charcoal and zeolite as combination adsorbents to adsorb Cr(VI) metal ions; the effect of the combination adsorbents of activated rice husk charcoal and zeolite’s compositions to adsorb Cr(VI) metal ions; and the sensitivity of solid-phase spectrophotometry (SPS) as a method to determine the reduced levels of Cr(VI) metal ions in the level of 15μ" g/L. The activated rice husk charcoal used were obtained through the activation process by soaking in a solution of ZnCl2 10% while the zeolite with a solution of H2SO4 10%. The contacting process of the adsorbents with Cr(VI) metal ions was done by varying the compositions of the activated rice husk charcoal and zeolite adsorbent, 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, and 2:1. The data analysis of the Cr(VI) level used solid-phase spectrophotometry (SPS) method. Characterization of activated rice husk charcoal and zeolite used FTIR. The results showed that: (1) a combination of activated rice husk charcoal and zeolite can be used as adsorbent to adsorb Cr(VI) metal ions with the adsorption capacity was 0,28 15μ" g/g; (2) the optimum composition of adsorbents was 1:2 with the percentage of absorption was 40,99%; (3) solid-phase spectrophotometry (SPS) is a sensitive method to determine the reduced levels of Cr(VI) in the level of 15μ" g/L with the limit of detection (LOD) was 0,021 15μ" g/L. Keywords: adsorption, Cr(VI),  activated  rice husk charcoal,  zeolite, solid-phase spectrophotometry

Abstract

Usaha kue rumahan merupakan usaha kecil dan informal yang berperan strategis dalam mengatasi krisis ekonomi, sehingga perlu mendapatkan perhatian khusus. Salah satu usaha kue rumahan berpotensi dikembangkan adalah pizza merk dagang “Pizzaro” yang dikelola oleh Bapak Abdul Rohman di kabupaten Karanganyar Jawa Tengah. Sebelumnya Pizzaro telah memproduksi pizza toping sosis dan daging asap dan masih terkendala dalam pengembangan produk dan pemasarannya. Upaya yang dilakukan oleh tim Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) Universitas Sebelas Maret adalah pendampingan inovasi produksi pizza dengan toping bumbu tradisional yaitu toping ayam kari dan daging rendang. Adapun metode yang dilakukan oleh tim pengabdian adalah melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada mitra pada pembuatan pizza toping bumbu tradisional yaitu ayam kari dan daging rendang. Setelah mitra mahir membuat pizza toping bumbu tradisional dan layak untuk dipasarkan, maka tim PKM melakukan pendampingan dalam pemasaran melalui outlet yang lebih luas dan secara online melalui instagram, facebook dan mendaftar sebagai Gofood partner. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian telah dilaksanakan sesuai target yang direncanakan. Produk pizza toping ayam kari dan daging rendang telah dihasilkan dengan pengemasan yang bagus. Produk juga telah teruji organoleptic dengan 35 responden dengan hasil bahwa pizza disukai dan layak untuk dipasarkan. Pemasaran telah dijalankan melalui outlet toko kue dan online yang meliputi Instagram, facebook dan gofood parter. Dengan perluasan pemasaran ini telah berdapak pada peningkatan pendapatan yang signifikan.

Abstract

Heavy metal pollutants contained in wastewater can cause health problems for living things around. Minor to fatal health problems can occur due to heavy metal poisoning, mainly caused by Pb(II) metal.. This study aimed to determine the optimum mass combination of rice husk and zeolite to adsorb Pb(II) metal ions in simulated wastewater, and to determine the sensitivity of the analysis method. This study used Solid Phase Spectrophotometry (SPS) to determine the decrease in Pb(II) metal ion levels after being adsorbed by activated carbon from rice husks and zeolites. This study used an experimental method with simulated wastewater samples containing Pb(II) at several concentrations. Pb(II) adsorption processes by rice husk and natural zeolite used various adsorbents' mass ratios. The adsorbents were characterized by using Fourier-Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) Spectrophotometry. Pb(II) analysis during adsorption processes used a single beam UV-visible Spectrophotometer for Solid-Phase Spectrophotometry. This study indicates that the combination of adsorbent from rice husk and natural zeolite can properly adsorb Pb(II) ions with an adsorption capacity of 0.75 μg g-1 and 0.025 μg L-1 for the LoD of the instrument.

Abstract

The study of exhaust H2S and NO2 gases using activated carbon has been conducted. In this study, activated carbon was prepared from mendong plant (Frimbistylis umbellaris), which was activated using zinc chloride (ZnCl2) with concentrations of 2.5; 5; 7.5; and 10 % w/v to determine the efficiency of H2S adsorption. Mendong charcoal was obtained from the process of using a modified tool. Activation was done by maceration using ZnCl2 activator (w/v) for 24 hours. The adsorption of H2S and NO2 was analyzed using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Determinations of H2S gas carried out using the blue methylene’s method for 1 hour showed the highest effectiveness of mendong activated carbon was of that at the concentration of 2.5 % ZnCl2 w/v with 80% of H2S removal. Further, the mendong activated carbon with the concentration of 2.5% ZnCl2 w/v was used for NO2 adsorption. The adsorption of NO2 gas was conducted for 1 hour using Griess Saltzman’s method. The result showed that the largest concentration of NO2 gas was adsorbed when the HNO3 concentration was 1.5 M (0.057 µg/mL). The percentage of NO2 efficiency adsorbed was at 28%.

Abstract

Dalam upaya untuk menghasilkan rantai pendek hidrokarbon yang berasal dari minyak sawit, telah dilakukan hidrorengkah metil ester asam lemak (MEPO) menggunakan katalis nikel yang diembankan pada zeolit alam aktif (NZA). Zeolit alam (NZ) perlakuan asam dilanjutkan dengan kalsinasi selama 1 jam pada suhu 500 oC diperoleh katalis NZA. Impregnasi Ni menggunakan prekusor Ni(NO3)2.6H2O dilakukan dengan memvariasikan kandungan Ni sebesar 2,5 dan 8% dari berat NZA yang menghasilkan katalis Ni/NZA2, Ni/NZA5 dan Ni/NZA8. Hidrorengkah metil ester asam lemak dilakukan pada reaktor fixed-bed. Kondisi reaksi meliputi waktu retensi 30 menit, laju alir gas hidrogen 20 ml/min dan suhu reaksi 400, 450 dan 500 oC. Produk cair hasil reaksi hidrorengkah dianalisis menggunakan kromatografi gas (GC). Dari proses uji aktivitas katalis didapatkan persentase produk optimum pada jenis katalis Ni/NZA8, yaitu fraksi bensin 29,85% dan fraksi solar 18,03% pada temperatur 500 oC.

Abstract

This research is an attempt to describe the increase of interest in Science of students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Colomadu after the application of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model. This research uses Class Action Research (PTK) method which includes planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Colomadu, which amounted to 31 students. The object of this study is interest in learning science of students through Teams Games Tournament learning model (TGT). Data is fed by observation, test and documentation. Data analysis using comparative descriptive analysis technique with percentage. The results of this study indicate an increase in learning achievement of science students. This can be seen from the average score of learning achievement of science students also experienced an increase before the action of 68, in the first cycle of 75.5 and on the second cycle of 80.8. In addition, the percentage of students' learning mastery, example before the action of 63%, in the first cycle of 75% and in the second cycle of 94.75%. So it can be concluded that "Active learning model of TGT can improve the learning achievement of science students of class VIII in SMP Negeri 2 Colomadu".

Abstract

High consumption of coal as a source of electrical energy in Indonesia has resulted in piles of waste from coal burning, namely fly ash, which can damage the environment and harm health. Fly ash contains main oxides, namely silica (SiO2) and alumina (Al2O3), whose components are similar to zeolite, so they can be synthesized into zeolite-like material (ZLM) which can be used as an adsorbent for heavy metal Ni2+. Therefore, this research discussed the characterization of manganese-oxide-coated-zeolite (MOCZ) from fly ash waste as a heavy metal adsorbent. The research procedure consisted of preparation, purification, and activation stage of fly ash to obtain fly ash that is free from impurities, the stage of making sodium silicate and sodium aluminate, and zeolite synthesis. The resulting zeolite was then coated with manganese oxide to expand the surface area of the zeolite and increase the ability of zeolite to adsorb heavy metal Ni2+. The research results showed that fly ash waste that was coated with manganese oxide can adsorb heavy metal Ni2+. The adsorption of the Ni2+ metal ion solution by zeolite with MOCZ modification is in line with the pseudo-second-order kinetic and Langmuir isotherm.

Abstract

Electricity is a conceptual and complicated physics subject, hence technological integration is required to help understanding. Using the ADDIE development research approach, this study will investigate how the design, practicality, and characteristics of Low Carbon Virtual Lab (LCVL) media might empower students' sustainability literacy. The LCVL was built using low carbon education values and sustainability literacy indicators to test student abilities through quizzes and discussion topics. The feasibility of LCVL was rated as very good. Material experts scored 96.59%, media experts scored 86.98%, and language experts scored 95.60% (very feasible). The teacher and student response test to LCVL also yielded an overall average, with student responses of 91% and instructor responses of 82.41%. LCVL possesses the following characteristics: (1) an interactive digital simulation media, (2) packed in the form of a website link, (3) user-friendly, (4) utilized to empower students' sustainability literacy, and (5) the concept of electrical material supplied is combined with low carbon education. Thus, LCVL is appropriate for use in the learning process to improve students' sustainability literacy.

Abstract

Creative thinking as one of the 21st skills is not only beneficial but also essential, particularly in learning sciences. Creative thinking equips them with the cognitive flexibility to devise innovative solutions, consider multiple variables, and approach challenges from diverse angles, fosters critical reasoning and imagination, and enhances student motivation and engagement within science classrooms. This paper will focus on investigating the implementation of creative thinking in learning sciences based on the articles published in national accreditation journals in Indonesia. The content analysis approach was applied, leveraging the method of scanning published research journal documents as its research method. This study is distinctive from previous research on creative thinking skills in several ways covered on all educational articles published from 2015 to 2024 in all Indonesian science education journals. This study revealed that in the last three years, the number of publications focusing on creative thinking skills has increased. The most dominant research is quantitative research with quasi experiment as the research design. Meanwhile, junior high school students, and 'biology' with the subject material of 'environmental pollution' were consecutively the subjects, science fields of study, and topics most chosen by researchers. Project Based Learning (PjBL), test sheet, and N-gain were the most frequently used as treatments, instruments, and data analysis methods, respectively. The review highlights the need to increase the use of qualitative and mixed-method approaches, explore the integration of local wisdom and ethnoscience through R&D, and focus on developing instructional products to enhance students’ low creative thinking abilities. Additionally, researchers are advised to clearly report their research instruments, including validity and reliability, and to select data analysis techniques that align with their research objectives and design.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil analisis awal kesenjangan antara teoritis dengan faktual terkait kemampuan guru di Sekolah Dasar dan analisis kebutuhan mengembangkan e-module berbasis Project-Based Learning (PjBL) yang mengintegrasikan pendekatan Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) terhadap kemampuan literasi digital dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif calon guru Sekolah Dasar (SD). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development (R&D) dengan studi analisis pada tahap awal model ADDIE. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan penyebaran kuesioner kepada 30 calon guru SD dan 3 dosen pengampu mata kuliah “Pengembangan Pembelajaran IPA SD”. Data yang didapatkan dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pada indikator validasi kesenjangan kinerja, 53,33% responden masih kurang kemampuan literasi digital dan 56,66% calon guru SD memiliki keterampilan berpikir kreatif yang masih rendah, model perkuliahan yang sering digunakan 66,67% PBL dan 27,78% PjBL serta sisanya model lainnya. Pada indikator tujuan instruksional, 38,46% responden menyatakan video interaktif sebagai preferensi media pembelajaran dan diikuti 30,77% e-module sisanya adalah model dan strategi pembelajaran lainnya. Selain itu, 100% responden merasa perlu pengembangan media pembelajaran berupa e-module PjBl terintegrasi TPACK untuk memberdayakan literasi digital dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Secara analisis karakteristik SDM calon guru SD sudah mengenal berbagai macam teknologi, namun belum memahami secara maksimal dalam penggunaannya sesuai kebutuhan dalam menunjang literasi digital. Calon guru SD dengan rasa ingin tahu dan kemampuan yang lebih adaptif terhadap perkembangan teknologi menjadi keunggulan dalam menerima pengetahuan baru untuk diaplikasikan. Analisis sumber daya yang tersedia menunjukkan dalam hal konten, lebih dari 60% responden berpendapat bahwa tahapan literasi digital dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif telah diterapkan melalui metode atau media tetapi belum secara spesifik dan menyeluruh. Namun, di setiap awal perkuliahan para dosen telah tertib dalam menyampaikan RPS. Sedangkan pada aspek teknologi, seluruh responden (100%) menyatakan seluruh perkuliahan telah dilengkapi dengan sistem jaringan internet, dan ruang perkuliahan nyaman karena dapat menampung 30 – 40 mahasiswa pada aspek fasilitas instruksional. Temuan ini memberikan rekomendasi bagi peneliti untuk melanjutkan penelitian dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa e-module PjBL terintegrasi TPACK untuk memberdayakan kemampuan literasi digital dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif calon guru Sekolah Dasar (SD).
