Abstract

Covid-19 has become a pandemic and has hit several countries in the world. This pandemic has had an impact on the implementation of education in Indonesia. Responding to these challenges, the ministry issued a circular regarding learning policies and learning guidelines during the Covid-19 pandemic. One form of policy in education is the implementation of a home learning program using information and communication technology. Learning that uses ICT is online learning. However, not all teachers can carry out online learning evaluations by utilizing the available platforms. Therefore, it is necessary to hold a Mathematics Learning evaluation training during the Covid 19 pandemic and validity-reliability analysis techniques for MTs and MA Mathematics MGMP Participants in Banjarmasin City. Through this workshop, the participants' understanding regarding the google form for making math evaluation questions increased by an average of 0.931 (with the score range of 0 to 10). Abstract

Learning in schools is expected to bring out students who have character and can maintain and preserve culture as the foundation of the nation's character. Based on the opinion of the mathematics teacher, it was found that the existing textbooks did not support the cultural elements in the students' environment. In addition, based on the results of the PISA (Program for International Student Assessment) since 2001, the literacy of Indonesian students has always been in the lower rank compared to countries that have participated in PISA. Based on the problems described above, a form of ethnomathematical exploration training was held in geometry learning to 41 mathematics teachers at the Banjar Regency Junior High School with the aim that participants were able to develop a Learning Implementation Plan or assessment instrument by exploring ethnomathematical elements in geometry learning to improve student literacy. Implementing the training is carried out in two modes, namely synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronous was carried out to provide ideas for teachers to insert cultural elements into their learning. In contrast, asynchronous was carried out to guide 11 participants in preparing learning plans that use Banjar cultural elements. Participants are very interested in the material provided and trying to develop a lesson plan that incorporates Banjar culture. The culture used by the participants is mostly traditional Banjar cakes. The service target was achieved when more than 50% of the group could afford it—compiling ethnomathematics-based lesson plans related to geometry learning, including linking student literacy activities and assessment instruments for material knowledge of circle elements with typical cakes of South Kalimantan. Participants expected further training to develop more lesson plans with different materials.

Abstract

The Learning that orienting to the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) can be designed by the teacher for the learning process activities or in the preparation of evaluation questions. HOTS-oriented problems are needed so that students are accustomed and trained to solve problems that are not only memorizing, understanding, and applying concepts. Teachers have obtained much training in making mathematical problems. However, the training specifically in making HOTS-oriented mathematics problems is lacking. Therefore, the training needs to be held to cause HOTS-oriented mathematics problems. The purpose of community service activities is to guide junior high school mathematics teachers in preparing HOTS-oriented mathematics problems. The activity has been carried out in collaboration with the Mathematics MGMP of the Banjar District. The number of participants who attended the activity was 46 people. In summary, the stages of activities include preparing material as guidance material for making HOTS-oriented problems and implementing mentoring. This community service activity has produced 50 HOTS-oriented mathematics problems. The problem categories are based on the HOTS level; 39 items (78%) included analysis problems, and 11 items (22%) included evaluation problems.

Abstract

In implementing the "Independent Curriculum," one of the materials that need to be prepared by the teacher is the teaching module. However, since this is relatively new, the teachers who are members of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of Senior High School in Banjarmasin need to receive training regarding implementing the "Independent Curriculum" and preparing teaching modules. Therefore, a workshop for preparing mathematics teaching modules for mathematics high school teachers needs to be implemented. The purpose of this service is to increase the understanding of high school mathematics teachers in Banjarmasin regarding the "Independent curriculum" and to develop teachers' ability to compose teaching modules. This Community Service Method is implemented using the PAR (Participatory Action Research) approach. The cycles implemented are to know, to understand, to plan, to act, and to change. The results of the service show an increase in understanding regarding the implementation of the “Independent Curriculum” and the participants' ability to develop teaching modules in the “Independent Curriculum”. This is indicated by an increase in the average percentage of teachers answering pre-test to post-test questions correctly from 71.39% to 83.22% and the collection of teaching modules that have been prepared by the participants after completing the workshop and mentoring by the community service team.

Abstract

The problem in several schools is that students experience learning loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so several generations of students are slowly learning. Apart from that, the 2022 AKM results are less than optimal because not all students are familiar with contextual problems. Therefore, training in designing mathematics learning using the local context of the wetland environment based on RME needs to be implemented. This service aims to develop the ability of teachers of SDI Sabilal Muhtadin to design mathematics learning using the local context of the wetland environment based on RME to increase teachers' understanding and ability to design realistic learning. The method applied in this community service activity uses a PAR (Participatory Action Research) approach. The PAR cycle implemented is To Know, To Understand, To Plan, To Act, and To Change. The service team prepares material and delivers it via an offline workshop, while participants are also allowed to design learning with a local context and based on RME. The service results show an increase in teacher understanding regarding RME-based learning designs in the local context of the wetland environment, which is indicated by an increase in the average score from pre-test to post-test. Apart from that, most teachers have been able to develop mathematics learning plans based on RME in a local context. This is shown by the teacher's work in designing lessons sent to the service team. Thus, this service activity has successfully increased teachers' understanding and abilities in designing realistic learning.
