Abstract

Abstract: This research is aimed at finding out whether or not there is a significant difference on students’ reading comprehension achievement between those who are taught by using reciprocal strategy and those who are not. The result shows that students’ reading comprehension achievement of the experimental group has higher mean score than the students of the control group. Furthermore, based on the independent t-test score (22.67) with the sig. value 0.898, it is found that the use of reciprocal strategy is effective. This can also be meant that there is a significant difference on students’ reading comprehension achievement between those who are taught by using reciprocal strategy and those who are not. This can be stated that reciprocal strategy brings positive impact on MAN students’ reading comprehension achievement.Keywords: reciprocal strategy, senior high students, reading comprehension

Abstract

Education plays an important role for the quality of human’s life. Education is a process of accommodating learners to develop their potential based on the talent and ability they have. Through this process, individuals will have a better personality, IQ, manner, religious belief. Indonesian language in an education setting supports the process of gaining knowledge because this is considered as a carrier of knowledge, a means of communicating ideas, thought, and feeling, and a means of increasing nationality among individuals whole over Indonesia. By having this, Indonesian language education policy is considered as a means of gaining national education goals. However, the role of stakeholders and society is undeniable. They can protect and develop the position of Indonesian language and they can accommodate the attainment of national education goals.Key Words: Education, Indonesian Language, Policy, National Education Goals, Stakeholders

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to improve students' writing skills in Multiliteration Learning English descriptive text through collaboration techniques in Seniour high school students in Palembang. This study used a Quasi-experimental research design method; non equivalent pretest and posttest. In analyzing the level of writing comprehension of students by using the rubric of writing descriptive text, the final test scores of control class students and experimental class students were be compared. Then the t-test value was compared with the value of t-table. The results obtained, by looking at Table t-test results, it was found that the F value is 110.049 with degreef of freedom (df) 292 with a significance value (sig.) 0,000. With the difference in the mean value of 4.116. Due to the sig value. 0,000 (<0,005) with a t-count value was 8.540, it can be concluded that there are significant differences between the two sample groups in the final results of writing skills. It can be concluded that collaboration techniques have a positive impact on students' writing abilities. Keywords:  multiliteration, collaboration, descriptive text

Abstract

Integrating technology in learning English is needed nowadays. It can change traditional learning into modern or digital learning. Duolingo is an application that can be used to learn English. It can change the users’ perception about studying English.  The study aimed to describe the implementation of Duolingo application in translation and learning English, to find out the users’ perception about the Duolingo application, and to know the relevance criteria of Duolingo in learning English. This study used a qualitative method with 50 participants involved. The data were collected by having observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The result of observation reveals that the implementation of translation exercises was appropriate in learning English. There were two kinds of translation exercises, namely choosing the word and typewriting freely. The way it provided the translation exercises was useful in actual translation works. The users’ perception of the Duolingo application was that it was a good way to learn English using technology. Duolingo also helped the users for their English improvement. As a final point, Duolingo was relevant for learning English.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the writing skills of XI grade high school students in Palembang. Researchers used a quasi method involving two groups of high school students in Palembang (experimental group and control group). The results of the study were (1) the experimental group pretest and the control group found that the experimental group got the lowest score of 21 and the highest was 63, while the control group got the lowest score of 23 and the highest score was 70, (2) the posttest of the experimental group and the Control Group, the results obtained were that the experimental group was able to obtain a mean value greater than the mean value of the control group. (3) Paired t-test; The results of the Pretest-Posttest Experimental Group showed that there was a very significant increase that occurred in the experimental group as a result of the implementation of LMS in the experimental group students' writing learning, the results of the Independent t-Test were obtained that the mean value of the experimental group was greater than the mean value of the control group, based on the results independent test analysis, it was found that the sig. (two-tailed) which is 0.000 with t-obtained 14,433. This can be interpreted that there is a positive influence on the application of LMS-based learning methods for the writing ability of high school students. Then, it can be seen that the F test value is 0.379 with sig. 0.539.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami, mengatur dan merencanaan Praktik Unit Produksi di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Sumsel Palembang Sumatera bagian selatan menghasilkan produk unggulan mobil pemadam kebakaran. Metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif digunakan dalam pelaksanaan penelitian ini. Penelitian ini terfokus pada manajemen Perencanaan Praktik di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Sumsel. Data dikumpulkan dengan triangulasi yaitu wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen praktik unit produksi Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri Sumsel memiliki keunikan, pada komampuan keahlian, pendanaan, penjadwalan dan sarana prasarana.Kata kunci: perencanaan, SMKN Sumsel

Abstract

One of the aquaculture techniques is Culture Based Fisheries (CBF). CBF or Cultivation-Based Capture Fisheries is a capture fishery activity where the caught fish come from cultured fish seeds that are spread into water bodies, and the stocked fish seeds will grow by utilizing available natural food in increasing consumption fish production based on local wisdom. The purpose of this activity is to add insight and information for teachers and students about aquaculture using the CBF technique. The method used is the observation and preparation stage, the coordination stage, the tool and material preparation stage, and finally the implementation stage. The results of PKM activities The target audience in this Community Service activity is the community in general, but specifically it is addressed to the Santri/Students and Teachers at MA Bahrul Ulum Muliasari Tanjung Lago, Banyuasin Regency, which specifically has been attended by 41 people. During the PKL implementation, activities were carried out in 3 activities, the first was a speech from the head of MA Bahrul Ulum and also the PKL Team Leader, in the second session followed by a presentation session of 6 materials and the last was a demonstration activity or practice of measuring water quality as well as socialization of aquaculture study programs. fish. The results of this PKM are used to increase the willingness and knowledge of the community through students/teachers in developing their area to apply CBF technology to develop the fisheries sector in the area which looks quite promising.

Abstract

This study was a quasi-experimental research and oriented to measure the effectiveness for student-teachers’ reading comprehension achievement. There were 80 student-teachers who joined and were grouped into experimental and control groups. They were treated for eight meetings. Both pretest and posttest instruments were integrated for collecting the data. Both paired and independent t-tests were employed to know improvement of the two groups. The findings showed that in pretest, both of groups encountered problems related to reading comprehension. However, after being treated with this Schoology learning management system (LMS) for several meetings, experimental group students gained better achievement in reading comprehension comparing to control group. Mean scores of experimental group (75.250) was bigger than control group gained (61.875). By the same token, the F-test score (0.392) with df (78) and sig. value (0.000) informed about different qualities gained by both groups, i.e., experimental and control. In a nutshell, the integration of Schoology LMS is more effective in increasing students’ reading comprehension comparing to conventional mode of learning.

Abstract

One of the catfish production centers in Palembang City is located in Srimulya Village, Sematang Borang District. Srimulya Village is planned to be confirmed as a Fisheries Area in Palembang City. This study aims to analyze the level of technical efficiency, price efficiency and economic efficiency of catfish cultivators, Srimulya Village, Sematang Borang District, Palembang City. This research was conducted in September 2022. Sampling was carried out using proportional random sampling technique with a total of 30 respondents. The data used include primary data and secondary data. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and descriptively quantitatively. Researchers used qualitative methods, namely by analyzing the characteristics of each respondent. Technical efficiency were analyzed using Frontier 4.1 software. The results showed level of technical, allocative and economic efficiency of catfish farming business in Srimulya Village, Sematang Borang District, Palembang is in an inefficient condition. Based on the technical efficiency criteria, if the efficiency value is 0.91 (<1), it means that the allocation of the use of production inputs exceeds the efficiency value so that the use of production inputs must be reduced. Allocative efficiency (price) of 1.87 (>1) means that it is inefficient in terms of price. Judging from the value of the economic efficiency of the business of 1.70 (> 1), it means that the catfish farming business is not yet economically efficient.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the potential for snakehead fish is very high, especially in South Sumatra. Swamps Areas in Indonesia have great potential to be developed as land used for the fisheries sector. Snakehead fish can be cultivated in swamp waters. The purpose of this PKM activity is expected to be able to provide education and information for teachers and students about how to use swamp land as a place for snakehead fish cultivation. The method used is the observation and preparation stage, the coordination stage, the tool and material preparation stage, and the final stage of implementing PKM activities. The target of the results of Community Service Program activities that have been carried out in general are the community that is specifically aimed at students and teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Inderalaya Selatan, Ogan Ilir Regency, which has specifically been attended by 60 people. During the implementation of this PKM activity, the activity was carried out in 3 major activities, the first was a speech from the principal of SMK N 1 Ogan Ilir and continued by the PKL Team Leader, the second session was followed by a presentation session of 6 materials and the last was a demonstration or practical activity. measuring the quality of swamp water in the school environment as well as socializing fish farming study programs. The results of this PKM are used to increase student interest and knowledge to find out more about the use of swamp land which is often neglected in the area and of course can provide an introduction to fish farming study programs as a place to explore knowledge and abilities to enrich insights about fish farming. From the results of this PKM activity, as many as 60 participants who had been given education about the use of swamp land for snakehead fish cultivation showed an increased understanding of the material provided compared to before the education.
