Abstract

The researcher aimed to identify the types of grammatical errors and the frequencies and percentages of each type of grammatical error. The method of this research was qualitative descriptive. The data of the research were taken from fifteen job advertisement texts of document publications, namely JS. The data analysis used the theory from Creswell that there were seven steps in analyzing errors which included: organizing and preparing the data analysis, reading all the data, starting coding all of the data, using the coding process to generate a description of the setting as well as categories for analysis, quantifying the errors, and interpreting the description, and drawing a conclusion. The errors found in the fifteen English job advertisement texts, there were four types of errors with the frequencies and percentages of each type of grammatical error. There were 250 errors made by advertisement text writers. The errors were 91 items (36.4%) of omission errors, 20 items (8.0%) of addition errors, 138 items (55.2%) of misformation errors, and 1 item (0.4%) of misordering errors. The result of the research could be used as input to avoid further errors.

Abstract

The research aimed to determine if there was a significant difference in the reading achievement of students who were taught using Microsoft Sway compared to those who were not. A quantitative method with a quasiexperimental design was employed for the study. Data collection involved a pre-test and post-test, while descriptive statistics were used for data analysis. The results showed that the independent sample t-test gave a value of 3.226, which was higher than the t-critical value of 2.000 at a 95% significance level with 65 degrees of freedom. This indicates that the obtained t-value exceeded the expected value from the t-table (t-obtained 3.226 > t-table 2.000). As a result, the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted.

Abstract

TThe purpose of this study was to analyze the many kinds of grammatical errors that fall under four different categories—omission, addition, misorder, and distortion—as well as the reasons behind them when producing recount texts. The study employed a descriptive-qualitative research design. The participants were the 24 eighth-grade students from SMP Negeri 45 Palembang who were enrolled for the 2023–2024 academic year. The researcher employed questionnaires and writing tests as instruments to gather data, which was subsequently analyzed. The results revealed that 221 errors total—65 (29,4%) in the Omission category, 41 (18,6%) in the Addition category, 16 (7,2%) in the Misorder category, and 99 (44,8%) in the Misformation category—were committed by the students. When composing recall texts, students most frequently committed mistakes in the Misformation category. The questionnaire's results showed that students were not only interested in producing recount texts, but also, perhaps because of their limited vocabulary, they were not quite aware of how to apply grammatical structures in their writing.

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan akurasi tata bahasa siswa kelas XII SMAN 1 Tungkal Jaya melalui penerapan pelatihan strategi metakognitif. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang mencakup empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 30 siswa kelas XII tahun akademik 2025. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tata bahasa, lembar observasi, dan jurnal refleksi siswa untuk menilai perkembangan kemampuan serta kesadaran belajar mereka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam akurasi tata bahasa siswa setelah mengikuti pelatihan strategi metakognitif. Siswa menjadi lebih sadar terhadap kesalahan tata bahasa yang mereka buat, mampu merencanakan strategi belajar yang lebih efektif, serta dapat memantau dan mengevaluasi proses belajar mereka sendiri. Skor rata-rata siswa meningkat dari 63,5 pada tes pra-pelatihan menjadi 72,8 pada siklus I dan 81,6 pada siklus II. Selain itu, aktivitas belajar dan partisipasi siswa meningkat hingga dikategorikan “aktif” pada siklus akhir.Dengan demikian, penerapan pelatihan strategi metakognitif terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan akurasi tata bahasa sekaligus menumbuhkan kemandirian belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran tata bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Fish reproduction information of tinfoil barb (Puntius schwanenfeldi) in captivity is little known, therefore, it is necessary to have a basic study on the spawning of fish with hormonal stimulation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the combination of ovaprim and spawnprim hormones on the reproductive performance of tinfoil barb (P. schwanenfeldi). The doses of hormones tested for fish spawning were 0.5 ml / kg of ovaprim and 1 ml / kg of spawnprim. The results showed that the combination hormonal stimulation between ovaprim and spawnprim showed a good response, namely spawning occurred in all tested broodstock. The highest fecundity was 106,524 with a gonad weight of 44 grams. Meanwhile, the highest somatic gonad index (GSI) value of kapiat was 14.37%).

Abstract

Banyuasin Regency has great potential in the fisheries sector, but fishery products are generally still sold fresh without processing, causing low added value and community welfare. This Community Service (PKM) activity was carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Banyuasin 1 on November 11, 2025, using counseling and practical demonstration methods for students and teachers. Topics covered included introduction to local fish potential, processing fishery products, non-consumption product innovation, packaging and branding design, digital marketing, and small business management. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of PGRI Palembang University and the partner school. The activity was attended by 55 students with high enthusiasm. Results showed increased participants' knowledge of fisheries-based creative economy and local entrepreneurship potential.

Abstract

Formative grammar assessment is crucial in English language learning, especially in building students' accuracy and awareness of language structure. In the modern era of education, blended learning approaches, which combine face-to-face and online learning, have become a popular strategy in increasing student flexibility and engagement. However, implementing formative grammar assessment in a blended learning environment faces several challenges, such as limitations of real-time feedback, difficulties in monitoring individual development consistently, and limitations of automated evaluation tools. The subjects in this study are students of the D3 Hospitality Study Program, who are in semesters II and IV, and are taking English courses emphasizing grammar. A total of 30 students were purposively. This study uses a qualitative case study approach to describe the practice of formative grammar assessment in blended learning. This article presents the results of a case study conducted at the Prasetiya Mandiri Polytechnic, involving D3 Hospitality students who took grammar courses in a blended system. Various assessments include interactive quizzes, weekly assignments, self-reflection, and online grammar discussions. The results show that integrating digital platforms such as Google Forms, Moodle, and learning analytics features can increase the effectiveness of formative assessments. In addition, micro-assessment and peer feedback strategies are practical solutions for overcoming the limitations of direct interaction. This article recommends adaptive approaches and the use of technology to strengthen the grammar assessment process in blended learning.

Abstract

This research is aimed at finding out whether or not there is a significant difference on students’ reading comprehension achievement between those who are taught by using reciprocal strategy and those who are not. The result shows that students’ reading comprehension achievement of the experimental group has higher mean score than the students of the control group. Furthermore, based on the independent t test score (22.67) with the sig. value 0.898, it is found that the use of reciprocal strategy is effective. This can also be meant that there is a significant difference on students’ reading comprehension achievement between those who are taught by using reciprocal strategy and those who are not. This can be stated that reciprocal strategy brings positive impact on MAN students’ reading comprehension achievement.
