Abstract

Effective learning enables students to actively participate in learning activities. The interactive learning media based on Lumio by Smart serves as a solution in creating a dynamic and conducive learning process. This study aims to develop and analyze the validity, student responses, and effectiveness of using interactive learning media based on Lumio by Smart in the subject of natural disaster mitigation. The development process follows the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and documentation, which were then validated by media experts, subject matter experts, and geography education practitioners. The effectiveness of the media was measured based on students' learning outcomes through a post-test after the learning session. The validation results showed an overall score of 98.43%, categorized as highly valid. Student responses reached 83.16% in the small group trial and 83.46% in the large group trial. The post-test recorded an average learning outcome score of 80, which falls into the "good" category. Thus, the interactive learning media based on Lumio by Smart has been proven to be highly effective and suitable for use in geography learning.

Abstract

Curriculum changes often occur in Indonesia. However, studies regarding the gap between curriculum planning and implementation are still very limited.  Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the Curriculum Implementation Index for Geography Learning in East Java. In this study, we used a curriculum implementation index for geography subjects. This study used purposive sampling with several considerations, such as the region distribution of geography teachers and school accreditation. The number of respondents is determined by selecting the person directly related to geography learning and its relation to curriculum implementation. We observed 30 geography teachers to determine curriculum implementation. The curriculum implementation index was used to evaluate consistency between curriculum planning and implementation, as indicated by teachers™ activities and several concepts in geography learning. The results show that the readiness of teachers to implement the curriculum in the laboratory, literature, and media aspects is in the low category. This is indicated by a laboratory index of 1.03, a literature index of 1.58, and a media index of 1.87. This low index means that geography learning does not meet the 2013 curriculum standards, especially in physical geography material, which needs laboratories and media to explain concrete concepts in geography learning. Implementing the 2013 curriculum in geography learning has not met the characteristics of the concrete idea of geography learning, which requires visualization for physical and environmental aspects.Keywords: Curriculum Implementation; Geography Learning; Index; East Java

Abstract

Environment geography has strong characteristics in combining classroom learning and in the field. Currently, machine learning development were designed to help several problem particularly in education. This study aims to evaluate the quality of Geographic Information System based machine in rural and urban school. Moreover, we also measured effect of GIS based machine learning towards learning outcome. We used quasi-experimental design to ensure the effect of GIS based machine learning media towards learning outcome. Moreover, we also used curriculum implementation index to ensure current curriculum implementation by teacher. Students were divided into 3 groups (2 experimental groups and 1 control group). The experimental group was treated by applying a guided inquiry model through GIS based machine learning media while the control group was treated by conventional models. The results show that the quality of learning by utilizing Geographic Information Systems is remain low which is indicated by low score at laboratory and media. However, in general curriculum implementation index showed moderate score 6.8, respectively. Moreover, results of quasi experiment design showed that GIS based machine learning has significant effect on students’ learning outcome which is represented by t-test score at 0.00, respectively. GIS based learning were able to enhance students’ learning outcome, meanwhile at current condition we found low index for laboratory and media aspect both in rural and urban school.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa pada mata pelajaran geografi dilihat dari indikator C4, C5, dan C6 yang mempengaruhi hasil belajarnya. Oleh karena itu, solusi yang bisa diberikan melalui model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) Berbasis STEM. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbasis STEM terhadap kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi dan hasil belajar geografi siswa SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen yang dirancang melalui desain posttest only control group design. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan melalui uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa a) terdapat pengaruh signifikan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbasis STEM terhadap kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi berdasarkan uji hipotesis menggunakan independent sample t-test sebesar Sig 0,000 < 0,05; b) terdapat pengaruh signifikan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbasis STEM terhadap hasil belajar geografi siswa SMA melalui uji hipotesis menggunakan independent sample t-test senilai Sig 0,000< 0,05. Artinya hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dinamika sosial dalam pengelolaan pariwisata di kawasan Gumuk Pasir Parangtritis dari perspektif masyarakat lokal. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling untuk memilih informan utama, serta pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan aktif masyarakat lokal menjadi faktor kunci dalam pengelolaan pariwisata yang berkelanjutan. Meskipun pengembangan wisata memberikan dampak positif terhadap perekonomian, seperti peningkatan pendapatan dan pembukaan lapangan kerja, terdapat pula dampak negatif seperti pergeseran nilai budaya dan ketimpangan distribusi manfaat. Masyarakat setempat memprakarsai pengelolaan wisata secara swadaya, termasuk pengoperasian jip wisata dan pelestarian lingkungan melalui gotong royong. Namun, tidak semua masyarakat mendapat manfaat yang setara, dan sebagian merasa terpinggirkan. Penelitian ini menyarankan perlunya peningkatan partisipasi masyarakat dalam proses pengambilan keputusan serta penguatan kapasitas melalui pelatihan berbasis kearifan lokal. Kajian ini menekankan pentingnya model pengelolaan pariwisata yang inklusif dan partisipatif untuk mencapai keseimbangan antara pertumbuhan ekonomi, pelestarian budaya, dan keberlanjutan lingkungan.

Abstract

Green Open Space is an important aspect in regional spatial planning. Lack of availability of Green Open Space can cause environmental problems such as increasing ground surface temperature. The purpose of this study was to analyze the Availability of Green Open Space using Sentinel-2A Imagery in Jember City Area in 2019 and 2024, and to analyze Land Surface Temperature using MODIS Imagery and Sentinel-2A Imagery in Jember City Area in 2019 and 2024. The type of research used is quantitative using a survey method. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with data collection techniques through observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The research data is presented in the form of a map using the NDVI method for Green Open Space and the LST method for Land Surface Temperature which is processed using Google Earth Engine. The results of this study indicate that the Availability of Green Open Space using Sentinel-2A Imagery in 2024 has been well available, namely 52% of the total area of ​​Jember City, while in 2024 the Availability of Green Open Space was 42% of the total area of ​​Jember City. Furthermore, the results of processing the distribution of Land Temperature using MODIS Imagery and Sentinel-2A Imagery in 2019 and 2024 show that the temperature in the City area is dynamic so that it can change at any time, this is influenced by natural conditions, physical conditions of the area, climate, weather, and hydrology. The highest temperatures tend to be in the city center which then spreads spatially to the outskirts of the Jember City area.

Abstract

Pembelajaran abad ke-21 menekankan pada kemampuan kolaboratif, salah satunya kemampuan berpikir spasial. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir spasial dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek, dimana mahasiswa mengeksplorasi permasalahan dan menyusun kerangka solusi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran project based learning dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir spasial berbasis lingkungan. Metode penelitian menggunakan quasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Desain penelitian menggunakan one group time series design, yaitu menggunakan 1 kelas eksperimen tanpa kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen yaitu mahasiswa yang menempuh mata kuliah Penginderaan Jauh untuk Kewilayahan pada Tahun Akademik 2021-2022 Genap. Kelas eksperimen diberi permasalahan dan proyek yang terjadi di lingkungan sekitar. Setiap kelompok kecil dalam kelas eksperimen menggunakan data spasial seperti citra penginderaan jauh untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir spasial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penerapan project based learning mampu menstimulasi mahasiswa untuk menyusun kerangka solusi pada proyek berbasis lingkungan dan mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir spasial.
