Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of think pair and share cooperative learning model on the mathematical communication skills of the 7th graders of SMPN 1 Puriala on the Set topic. This type of research is quantitative research that is a quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental). The design of this research is The Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The population of this study was the 7th graders of SMPN 1 Puriala. The Class C (experimental group) and Class B (control group) were then selected as the samples of the study using purposive sampling technique. Paper test and documentation as the instruments were administered in collecting the data. The descriptive and inferential techniques were used in analyzing the data. The descriptive analysis found that the mean score of mathematical communication skill of the experimental class was 52.408 which was higher than mean scored by the control class, 36.400. In addition, the inferential analysis obtained the value of tcount = 6.815 > ttable = 1.671. As a result, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Descriptively, it shows that the mathematical communication skill of the experimental group is higher than the control group after being treated with a think pair and share cooperative learning model. It was concluded that the think pair model has a positively significant effect on the mathematical communication skills in the 7th graders of SMPN 1 Puriala on the topic of set.

Abstract

Saat ini pendidikan maupun teknologi berkembang pesat dalam tenggang waktu yang sangat cepat. Era 4.0, yaitu zaman dimana kondisi yang serba terbuka tanpa mengenal batasan jarak dan waktu serta semakin mudah dalam mengakses informasi. Sarana dan prasarana di sekolah pada era industri 4.0 juga semakin canggih dan beragam. Tersedianya sarana dan prasarana yang memadai bisa mengefektifkan kegiatan pembelajaran yang saat ini berjalan di lembaga pendidikan dan sekolah. Dengan majunya teknologi sekarang ini, diharapkan mampu memperbaiki tenaga manusia di Indonesia menjadi tenaga manusia yang memiliki kualitas tinggi. Tenaga manusia Indonesia yang memiliki kualitas tinggi adalah kekayaan negara dan bangsa untuk mewujudkan pembangunan yang berskala nasional di berbagai aspek dan untuk mengimbangi maupun menyelesaikan hal-hal yang menantang dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat di era serba teknologi ini menghadapi tantangan kehidupan masyarakat dalam era serba teknologi ini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kualitas pembelajaran matematika melalui penggunaan aplikasi ZOOM dalam pembelajaran matematika kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Wawotobi. Jenis penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa dan guru SMP Negeri 1 Wawotobi dengan sampel kelas VII dari Teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data terdiri atas kuesioner, pengamatan, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan naratif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi ZOOM  secara keseluruhan memperoleh hasil yang baik dengan kategori sedang pada siswa dan guru Kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Wawotobi. artinya melalui aplikasi ZOOM, proses pembelajaran dapat menghasilkan mutu yang baik.

Abstract

This study aims to compare learning outcomes, activeness, and students’ responses in learning mathematics in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. Type of study is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest post-test only comparison design. The study population was the high school students in class XI with the samples consisting of three classes from different schools. The results of the descriptive and inferential analysis show that there were differences from the application of the three learning models which were then being tested by Tukey and they were depicted descriptively and inferentially that the combination model of Problem based learning setting Contextual teaching learning was more effective than the model of Problem based learning and Contextual teaching learning in terms of learning outcomes, activeness and student responses in the industrial revolution 4.0.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of problem-based learning models towards the mathematics learning outcomes of 6th-grade students of an Elementary School accredited B in Kendari City. This study is quantitative experimental research. The population in this were all 6th-grade students of an Elementary School accredited B in Kendari City. The technique of determining the sample was done by cluster random sampling. Data analysis used is descriptive statistics and inferential statistics where the hypothesis test used is the t-test. The results showed the effect of problem-based learning models better than direct instruction and problem-based learning model positive effect on mathematics learning outcomes of 6th-grade students of an Elementary School Accredited B in Kendari City.

Abstract

Evaluasi dilakukan pada setiap tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan. Evaluasi ini meliputi evaluasi pada semua tahap yaitu mulai dari tahap persiapan sampai dengan tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan. Tahap evaluasi ini dilanjutkan dengan kegiatan penyusunan laporan akhir. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk diskusi/tanya jawab, Curah pendapat dan presentasi. Metode ceramah digunakan dalam memberikan pemahaman tentang pemanfaatan video pembelajaran berbasis Applet GeoGebra di sekolah. Curah pendapat oleh peserta adalah guna berbagi ilmu terkait penggunaan salah satu software yang biasa digunakan untuk memberikan siswa pengetahuan baru terkait video pembelajaran berbasis Applet GeoGebra. Karakteristik media pembelajaran berbasis applet GeoGebra di dalam pembelajaran matematika mempunyai tujuan pembelajaran jelas, materi pelajaran disajikan sesuai degan kompetensi, kebenaran konsep yang jelas, alur proses pembelajaran serta petunjuk penggunaan yang jelas, sangat relevan materi dengan media pembelajaran applet Geogebra

Abstract

An engaging learning process will affect learning outcomes and student activeness during the learning process. The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of the combinatory use of Number Head Together and Two Stay Two Stray learning models on the scores of high school students’ mathematical tests and learning activeness. It was an experimental-based study with One Group Pre-test Post-test design. The population of this study was all high school students in Kendari, with Cluster Random Sampling as the method to choose the sample. Final test and observation were used as instruments to collect data. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with the One-Sample t-test. Results showed that (1) the combinatory use of both learning models improved learning outcome by increasing students’ average test scores from an average score of 68 (pre-test) to an average of 83 (post-test) with a gain value of 0.71; (2) the learning models had a positive influence on student activeness during the learning process, proven by a score of 3.3 (positive category). It was also evidenced by the results of the t-test showing that the t-count score was greater than the t-table. Therefore, the combinatory use of Number Head Together and Two Stay Two Stray learning models has a significant effect on increasing the learning outcome and learning activeness of high school students in the mathematic class.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the history of mathematics, the role of mathematics as a tool of thought, and the role of mathematics as the language of science so that it can be useful for students and lecturers of Mathematics Education to know the history and role of mathematics as a tool of thought and language in everyday life. This type of research is descriptive research with a literature review approach by combining various references to articles, books and websites. The data used is secondary data. The findings are that mathematics as the language of science is mathematics used to express ideas, thoughts, ideas, feelings, and as a tool for communicating and interacting by humans. Mathematics as a tool of thought is a tool used to symbolize algorithms, manipulate numbers, recognize and find patterns, symbols, tables, and graphs.Keywords: The role of mathematics; Mathematics as a tool of thought; mathematics as the language of science.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh sifat percaya diri dan keaktifan belajar terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Wawotobi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Ex-postfacto dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 79 siswa. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan sampel sebanyak 43 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan angket sifat percaya diri, keaktifan belajar dan dokumen prestasi belajar matematika siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistika deskriptif dan analisis inferensial dengan teknik analisis regresi linier ganda. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukan bahwa sifat percaya diri siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Wawotobi berada pada kategori sedang dengan presentase 44%, sedangkan untuk keaktifan belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Wawotobi berada pada kategori sedang dengan presentase 42%, dan untuk prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Wawotobi berada pada kategori sedang juga dengan presentase 42%. Hasil analisis inferensial menunjukan bahwa persamaan garis regresi linier Y = 33,493 + 0,365X1 + 0,704X2. Secara stimulan nilai Fhitung sebesar 4,05 dan dengan Ftabel sebesar 3,232. Nilai Fhitung = 4,05 > Ftabel = 3,23, maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima, maka dapat disimpulkan secara bersama-sama sifat percaya diri dan keaktifan belajar berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar matematika pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Wawotobi. Secara individu sifat percaya diri tidak berpengaruh terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa, karena Nilai thitung = 0,960 < ttabel = 2,021, sedangkan keaktifan belajar menunjukan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar matematika, yaitu ditunjukan bahwa Nilai thitung = 2,262 > ttabel = 2,021. Pengujian koefisien determinasi diperoleh nilai R² sebesar 0,162, bermakna bahwa secara bersama-sama variabel sifat percaya diri dan keaktifan belajar dapat menjelaskan variabel prestasi belajar sebesar 16,2% sedangkan sisanya dijelaskan oleh variabel lain diluar penelitian ini.

Abstract

The ability of students to understand the concept of learning varies, it is very necessary to know the level of understanding of students' concepts in learning mathematics, so that it becomes a rationale in determining the appropriate learning approach. This study aims to determine the effect learning approach of the ELPSA eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Makassar. The type of research used is experimental research. The design of this research is the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 6 Makassar in the 2019/2020 academic year and the research sample was determined by the Cluster Random Sampling technique. The instrument in this study was an essay test on understanding mathematical concepts. The data analysis used was descriptive and inferential. The descriptive research results show that there is an increase in understanding of the mathematical concept after the application of the ELPSA learning approach; the score of concept understanding after the application of the ELPSA learning approach met the completeness criteria, namely more than 80; and completeness of students' conceptual understanding after being applied classical ELPSA learning approach is 97% complete. The inferential hypothesis testing results show that the application of the ELPSA learning approach affects the understanding of mathematical concepts in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 6 Makassar.
