Abstract

The outbreak of the corona virus which first contracted in December 2019 in Wuhan, China; Currently it has been designated by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a pandemic and is known as Corona Virus Infection Disease 2019 (Covid-19). This study aimed to describe the profile of favipiravir therapy in moderate COVID-19 inpatients without liver impairment at Prof. dr. Sulianti Saroso Infection Center Hospital. The design of this study was an observational study conducted retrospectively. All the patients in this research were received favipiravir loading dose of 1600 mg bid on the first day, and 600 mg bid starting on the day-2 of therapy. The results of the research were 81 moderate Covid-19 inpatients without history or recent liver impairment who were hospitalized in the period October 2020 - July 2021 dominating by female gender (56%). Mode of hospital admission were self-referral to Prof. dr. Sulianti Saroso Infection Center Hospital (83%), primary care (Puskesmas) referral (12%), and other hospital referral (5%). There were no comorbidity in 74,1% of the subjects. Among 25,9% subjects with comorbidity, most of the patients suffered from hypertension (29%); hypertension, and cardiovascular disease (17%). diabetes (12%); diabetes and hypertension (12%); Asthma (12). None of the subjects experienced increased in liver transaminases (ALT, AST), nor ALP and total bilirubin. Eighty-one patients were either cured (12%) with negative PCR test results or improved (88%) at the end of the therapy.

Abstract

Hypnotherapy is an alternative and complementary therapy or non-pharmacological therapy that uses hypnosis as a suggestion of the human unconscious. Many people are negative about hypnotherapy and do not know that it has many benefits. The purpose of this study is expected to increase knowledge and change people's perspectives on hypnotherapy treatment. This study is a cross sectional study with non-random sampling (accidental sampling) techniques with research instruments in the form of online questionnaires and spread leaflets. The study was 108 respondents, with 108 respondents meeting the inclusion criteria. The results of the knowledge study showed 38.0% with good knowledge, 46.3% of respondents with sufficient knowledge and 15.7% of respondents with low knowledge and results at perspective showed 18% of respondents were positive, and 82% were negative. Based on the results of the respondents' knowledge and perspective, there is a need for an introduction to hypnotherapy treatment to prevent misperception among the people of Surabaya.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease which ranks second as the cause of death in the infectious disease class after infection of Human Immunodeficiency Virus. Countries contributing to the largest cases of tuberculosis starting from the highest order are India, Indonesia, China, the Philippines and Pakistan. East Java is in second place after West Java Province. Sumenep Regency, ranks first in East Java Province in 2019. Sumenep Regency, has 126 islands, of which 48 islands are inhabited by the community. In mainland Sumenep, the most cases of pulmonary tuberculosis are located in Bluto District, one of the endemic areas. Therefore, community service by a team of lecturers from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Airlangga University, Surabaya was carried out in Bluto District, Sumenep Regency. This targets four categories of Sustainable Development Goals, namely Good health and well-being; Quality education; Peace, justice and strong institutions; and Partnership for the goals. Besides that, this community service targets achievement on Key Performance Indicators 2, 3, 5 and 7. The four KPIs characterize off-campus activities and involvement with the community. Therefore, this community service formulates a comprehensive and systematic approach in responding to problems related to the TB infectious disease. The community service was carried out for two days, namely on Saturday and Sunday, September 10-11 2022 at Kampung Negara, Bungbungan Village, Bluto District, Sumenep Regency. The participants in this first year were farmer groups and health center staff, as well as pharmacists who practice in various health facilities serving TB patients. From the results of the evaluation through a questionnaire with statistical analysis, and the results of the discussion it can be concluded that this counseling is very useful for participants according to their confession and can increase participants' understanding of TB disease, its treatment and prevention.

Abstract

Perubahan fisiologis yang terjadi pada ibu hamil dapat mempengaruhi farmakokinetika obat mulai dari absorbsi, distribusi, metabolism, dan ekskresi sehingga keamanan dalam penggunaan obat pada ibu hamil menjadi perhatian yang lebih serius oleh tenaga kesehatan termasuk apoteker. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik apoteker komunitas terkait keamanan penggunaan obat pada ibu hamil. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross-sectional dengan analisis kuantitatif. Survei dilakukan kepada 63 apoteker yang berpraktik di puskesmas di Surabaya dengan mengisi kuesioner yang dibagikan. Kuesioner terdiri dari tujuh aspek yaitu aturan pelabelan selama kehamilan, risiko terhadap janin, teratogenisitas, dosis, rute pemberian, durasi pengobatan, dan trimester kehamilan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 9,52% responden memiliki pengetahuan yang baik, lebih dari separuh responden memiliki sikap yang positif (23,81%), dan 23,81% menunjukkan praktik yang memadai. Secara keseluruhan, apoteker menunjukkan sikap yang baik, tetapi peningkatan pengetahuan dan praktik tetap diperlukan yang dapat diupayakan dengan kegiatan pelatihan dan kerjasama dengan tenaga kesehatan lainnya.

Abstract

Gili Iyang is an island that belong to Madura, that located in Dungkek District, Sumenep Regency, East Java. This island is famous as an oxygen island with the second best oxygen levels in the world. This island also has various natural sources including medicinal. However, some of the existing potentials have not been utilized and processed optimally. Therefore, this activity is focused on optimazing the used of medicinal plants for improving health among communities. This activities were including planting medicinal plants or call “Tanaman Obat”(TOGA). Moreover to improve the understanding about medicinal plan, lecture section about the function of plants and how to prepare the traditional recepi was conducted. Information about medicinal plants for hipertention, diabetic and degenerative diseases such as osteoarthritis and women's health disorders were shared. Workshop about preparation herbal soap from piper betle was also conducted to the community of Gili Iyang . Piper batle was known as antimicrobial that could overcome vaginal discharge disorders. This activity give many advantages to the Gili Iyang Community that could improve the understanding on medicinal plants. The analysis of each participant in answering the question of pretest and posted was calculate. The results showed the right answer improve up to 70%. This result indicate the advantage of this activity to the community of Gili Iyang that consist of Banraas dan Bancamara village. This program is an application of several aspects of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including health (3), quality education (4), and is a strengthening of national research priorities (PRN) in the fields of Blue-Green Economy and Health.

Abstract

The study about the effect of brief counseling on quality of life of diabetes mellitus patients were conducted at RSUD Dr. H. Moch. Ansari Saleh Banjarmasin. This study using a randomized controlled trial design. Subjects who met the inclusion criteria were 156 patients randomly into two groups, 78 patients who received the intervention and 78 patients did not receive the intervention. Exclusion criteria were pregnancy patients, deaf, illiterate and uncooperative. The data collected by questionnaires Euro-Qol EQ-5D. The quality of life data were analyzed by multivariate statistic test. The result showed that the quality of life scores in the control group and the intervention group were both significantly increased with p <0.05. Multivariate analysis both group at pre and median study were significant different, while at the post study was not significant different. There were improving quality of life of patients with diabetes mellitus who received the brief counseling is greater than patients who did not receive the intervention

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is considered an essential indicator of the outcomes of pharmaceutical services. This study aimed to assess patient satisfaction with the pharmaceutical services in Kediri, and to knowing what services that make patient feels satisfying. A cross sectional study was conducted by administering the questionnaire using accidentally sampling in 27 Pharmacy in Kediri. A questionnaire instrument using SERVQUAL method. Respondens were selected by accidental sampling. Gap results being the difference between what patient expects and what patient receives. Descriptive statistics were calculated for satisfaction scores in Tki Score and cartesian diagram by comparing perception and expectation. Data of 108 patients were analyzed. A negative score in Gap analyze. The overall Tki score was 82,64%. The services that must be maintained are services in the assurance dimension and the empathy dimension. In the services that are a low priority for improvement are the tangible dimension and the reliability dimension. There are no services that are a top priority for improvement because the patient is already satisfied. Overall, patients are satisfied with the services. Our study showed that patients in Kediri were the services is under expectation. The services that must be maintained are services in the assurance dimension and the empathy dimension.
