Abstract

AbstractThis research is purposed to find out the effectiveness of the implementation of Inquiry learning in improving the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of the students in momentum and impulse. Pre-Experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test was used in this research. The population is all the IPA students at the 10th grade of SMAN 1 Sukadana. Using intact group, the sample of this research was X IPA 1 that have 32 studentes. This research instrument used HOTS test that have 5 essay questions. The average of the students  HOTS test result before the implementation of inquiry learning was 4.09 in enough category, whereas the students HOTS test result after the implementation of inquiry learning was at 11.4 in the very good category. Wilcoxon nonparametric test was applied with significance at 5% which shows there is an enhancement after the implementation of inquiry learning. Inquiry learning model is effective to improve the students HOTS in the momentum and impulse subject in effect size score 4.4 in the high category according to Cohen. As the result inquiry model can be used as the alternative learning model to improve students? HOTS. Keyword: Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), inquiry learning, momentum and     impulse

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan strategi pembelajaran Concept Attainment dalam meremediasi miskonsepsi siswa pada materi suhu dan kalor di SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. Bentuk Penelitian adalah pre-eksperimental design dengan rancangan one group prettest-posttest design. Populasi Penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. Sedangkan sampel ditentukan melalui teknik intact group terdiri dari 32 siswa kelas XI IPA 1. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes awal dan tes akhir menggunakan soal pilihan ganda disertai alasan terbuka. Hasil Pengujian Reliabilitas tes sebesar 0,50 (kategori sedang). Penurunan rata-rata siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi sebesar 49%. Melalui Uji McNemar, terjadi perubahan konseptual pada siswa dengan uji signifikansi diperoleh x2hitung rata-rata (14,98)> x2tabel (3,84) untuk nilai α=5%, db=1 . Strategi pembelajaran Concept Attainment efektif untuk meremediasi miskonsepsi siswa pada materi suhu dan kalor dengan harga proporsi 0,41 (kategori sedang) artinya strategi pembelajaran Concept Attainment berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Kata Kunci: Miskonsepsi, Concept Attainment, Suhu Kalor Abstract: This study aims to find out the effectiveness of Concept Attainment strategy in remediating students’ misconception on the topic about Heat and Temperature in SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. The form of this research is a Pre-experimental with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this research is the whole Grade XI Natural Science Students of SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. While the sample is determined by using intact group which consists of 32 students of Grade XI Natural Science 1. The research instruments are in the form of pre-test and post-test by using multiple choice questions provided with an open reason. The reliability test obtains a value of 0,50 (moderate category). The average decrease in the number of students’ misconception is 49%. McNemar test shows that there are conceptual changes on students where the test of significance obtained X2average count (14.98) > X2table (3.84) for α = 5%, db = 1. Concept Attainment learning strategy is effective to remediate the students’ misconception on the Heat and Temperature topic with the proportion value of 0,41 (moderate category). It means that Concept Attainment strategy affects the students’ learning outcomes. Keyword: Misconception, Concept Attainment, Heat Temperature

Abstract

Abstak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keberadaan didaktogenik sejumlah guru fisika tentang konsep gaya dan gerak. Terdapat 12 guru fisika yang terdaftar di Dinas Pendidikan Kota Pontianak berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Para guru diminta memberikan komentar/koreksi tertulis mengenai jawaban soal fisika tentang hukum-hukum Newton yang dibuat secara khusus untuk penelitian ini. Setiap konsep terdapat dua pertanyaan yang ekuivalen disertai dengan jawaban yang salah atau yang benar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komentar/koreksi guru mengandung didaktogenik. Jumlah komentar guru yang mengandung didaktogenik bervariasi. Konsep hukum Newton I dan hukum Newton II masing-masing tujuh (7) komentar. Konsep hukum Newton III dan penerapannya masing-masing empat (4) komentar. Didaktogenik para guru lebih banyak terungkap jika disajikan jawaban yang salah.   Kata Kunci: Didaktogenik, Hukum Newton, Komentar/koreksi guru   Abstract: This study was conducted to describe teachers’ didaktogenic about force and motion. The participants of the study were 12 teachers who officially recorded on The Office of Education Pontianak. Each participant was asked to assess about researcher’s work on several physics problems about Newton’s Law. There were two questions with answers for every concepts, correct and incorrect answers. Results reveals that most of the teacher’s comments have didaktogenic. There are seven (7) comments on Newton’s First Law and Newton’s Second Law, four (4) comments on Newton’s Third Law and the Application. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe teams games tournament terhadap hasil belajar gerak lurus berubah beraturan siswa kelas X SMA Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak. Bentuk penelitian ini berupa Quasi Experimental Design dengan rancangan The Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan kelas XD berjumlah 26 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas XE berjumlah 26 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh skor rata-rata kelas kontrol (52,91) lebih tinggi dari kelas eksperimen (32,42). Berdasarkan hasil uji U-Mann Whitney, diperoleh nilai sig. 0,02>0,05, maka Ha diterima. Terdapat  perbedaan hasil belajar gerak lurus berubah beraturan antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT dengan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Nilai effect size yang diperoleh adalah -1,01 yang menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT tidak efektif pada hasil belajar gerak lurus berubah beraturan siswa kelas X SMA Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak. Kata Kunci: Kooperatif tipe TGT , Hasil Belajar Abstract: This research aim to determine the effect of applying cooperative learning models by teams games tournament type to student’s learning result on uniformly accelerated motion matter in 10th grade of Santo Fransiskus Asisi Senior High School Pontianak. Research method used in this research is Quasi Experimental Design with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling. The D class of 10th grade which has 26 students was selected as the control class and the E class of 10th grade which also has 26 students as the experimental class. By the result of data analysis, The average score of control class (52,91) is higher than experimental class (32,42). By the results of U-Mann Whitney test, the significant value is 0,02 > 0,05, then Ha accepted. There are differences in learning result of uniformly accelerated motion matter between student who learn using TGT cooperative models than student who’s teached by conventional teaching methods. Effect Size value result is -1,01 shows that TGT cooperative learning model is not effective applied on learning uniformly accelerated motion matter 10th grade students of Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak. Abstract

AbstractThe aimed of this research was to determine the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) in the remediation of students? misconceptions on heat transfer material in class VII at SMP Negeri 3 Kubu Raya. This study was a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The sample of this research was student of VII A consisting of 29 students. Ten items of multiple choice diagnostic test with open reasion used as research instrument. Test reliability (0,43 classified as medium). The result of this research was the concept that experienced the most misconception was heat transfer by convection. Percentage of average reduction in students? misconceptions per concept is 50,3%. While the value of the proportion to implementation the THT cooperative learning model was 0,50 and according to the barometer hattie the effectiveness level was classified as medium. The learning model TGT can be implemented into use as an alternative to remediate the students? misconceptions and increase student activity.Keywords: Remediation, Misconception, Teams Games Tournament, Heat Transfer

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to determine the effectiveness of giving feedback in the form of answer sheet correction accompanied by teacher’s explanation to remedy the students’ mistakes in working on the material Newton's law of gravity in SMA Negeri 9 Pontianak. The research method used is Pre-Experimental design with one-group pretest and posttest design. Sampling was done by random sampling with intact group technique which the sample is 33 students of XI MIA 3. The tool of data is in the form of essays consists of 4 questions. The result shows that the largest students’ mistake in the pre-test is on writing formula and calculating which 125 errors. After doing remediation and post-test activities become 36 and 45 errors. However the smallest mistake is writing known and asked which 106 errors. After doing remediation and post-test activities become 30 errors. The number of average decrease in students’ mistake on the material Newton's law of gravity after given remediation by giving feedback in the form of answer sheet correction with teacher's explanation is 69.5%.Providing feedback in the form of answer sheet correction accompanied by teacher’s explanation is effective to remedy the students’ mistake with proportion 0.69 which is moderate. Giving feedback in the form of answer sheet correction accompanied by teacher’s explanations can be used as an alternative way in remediating students’ mistake on the material Newton's law of gravity.   Keywords: Answer sheet Correction, Newton's Law, Mistakes

Abstract

AbstractThis research  aims to assess the advisability of higher order thinking skill (HOTS) test of Physics for senior high school students. Specifically, this reseach was conducted to find out the characteristic of the HOTS test and to define the oppropriateprecentage of the test which is based  on the students’ responses. The metode used in this research is Research and Development (R & D). The method uses the stages which was developed by Borg and Gall which have been simplified. The HOTS test is developed basd on the Taxonomy Bloom which has been revised. It consists of 10 test points that have been validated by five physics experts. The experiment was done to 104 XI students from three different schools. The result of the experiment shows that from 10 test points, all of the items are highly correlated as the construct validity with analysis factor test by using SPSS, the level of contents of validity with the mean score 0.737. The validity of the items shows that all of the test items are valid based on SPSS application. The realibility of test items is 0.7, the index of difficulty of the test starts from 0.02 until 0.55, and  the level of legibility is 0.66 which mean all of the items are categorised as good test items. The students’ reponses from the questionnaires result positive with 79.6% for the mean score. Based on these characteristics, the HOTS test can be used to measure the higher order thinking skill of physics for senior high school students. Keywords: test development, HOTS, Harmonic Vibration

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to apply clinical interviews using mother tongue as an effort to remediate the students’ misconceptions of SD Negeri 18 Enggadang about magnet. The research form used was pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design. Data collection tools are 9 multiple choice questions with 3 alternative answers. The sample of this study was the fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 18 Enggadang consisting of 19 people who were chosen by saturated sampling technique where all members of the population were used as samples. Based on the results, the average percentage of students’ misconceptions at pre-test was 54.4% and the average percentage of students' misconceptions at post-test was 5.3%. The decrease in the number of student misconceptions was 28 misconceptions. Therefore, remediation using clinical interviews can be used to correct student misconceptions on magnetic subject. Clinical interviews are expected to be used as an alternative remediation activity in order to overcome misconceptions experienced by students.Keyword: Remediation, Misconception, Clinical Interview, Magnet.

Abstract

AbstractResearch and development (R&D) aims to develop two-tier diagnostic test that can be used to explore students’ misconceptions on the uniform circular motion in senior high school. The diagnostic test is developed based on the initial concept of the student by adapting the 7 steps of Borg & Gall development. Total of 40 students in XI MIPA 1 of SMA Negeri 2 Pontianak involved in the preliminary field test. Meanwhile, in the main field test was conducted in XI MIPA 2 and XI MIPA 3 of SMA Negeri 2 Pontianak, XI MIPA 3 and XI MIPA 4 of SMA Negeri 7 Pontianak as well as XI MIPA 2 and XI MIPA 3 of SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak with total sampel of 221 students. The result is 25 items meet good test quality with level of content validity is 0.81 and reliability is 0.814. In addition, the diagnostic test also has difficulty levels with moderate-to-easy categories (0.31-0.85) and readability rates is 5.25, so it meet the characteristics of good diagnostic tests. In other words, developed diagnostic tests can be used to explore the misconceptions of students on uniform circular motion.Keywords: Diagnostic test, two-tier, uniform circular motion

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness of students’ mistake in solving Newton law question of SMP Negeri 4 Teluk Keramat using Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) approach for remediation. Design of research was pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest. Data  was collecting by using 5 essay question. The sample in this research was class VIII A. The sample was chosen by using intact group technic which done by giving pre-test to class VIII A-VIII D. There were 19 students’ for every class. Based on the result, the decrease of  all student’s  mistake was about 61,74%, there was mistake difference in solving questions significantly between before and after remediation ( and there was significant mistake difference observed by the term of mistake  Based on effect size calculation was 0,66 (medium). Students’ mistake remediation in solving questions using AIR approach was expected to be used as on alternative for remediation activity to  solve students’ mistake.Keywords: Remediation, mistake, Auditory Intellectually Repetition, Newton’s law
