Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan membuat mesin pengayak serat sabut kelapa, menjelaskan prinsip kerjanya dan menentukan kapasitas mesin. Mesin pengayak serat sabut kelapa hasil penelitian ini menggunakan sistem rotary horisontal model segi enam kerucut. Cara kerja berputar otomatis yang sangat membantu proses ayak serat sabut kelapa sehingga lebih cepat dan menghemat waktu. Permintaan serat sabut kelapa yang cukup tinggi membuat mesin pengayak horisontal model segi enam kerucut efektif untuk pelaku industri kapasitas kecil sampai besar. Mesin pengayak cocopeat horisontal sistem rotary memiliki waktu relatif singkat dan hasil yang lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan mesin pengayak pengayak konvensional. Dari proses pembuatan mesin didapatkan hasil spesifikasi mesin berupa dimensi pengayak berbentuk segi enam, diameter hoper input 25 cm, diameter hoper output 38 cm, panjang body (tabung) 80,6 cm, menggunakan motor listrik yang berdaya 0,5 HP

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat alat pengering cabai dengan sistem efek rumah kaca berbasis panel surya. Penelitian ini terdiri atas pembuatan alat dan uji fungsional. Pembuatan alat terdiri atas studi literatur, desain, persiapan alat dan bahan, serta manufacturing. Proses uji fungsional terdiri atas uji fungsional komponen elektronika dan uji fungsional ruang pengering. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alat pengering cabai dengan sistem efek rumah kaca berbasis panel surya ini memiliki ukuran panjang = 30 cm, lebar = 30 cm, dan tinggi = 120 cm. Alat ini memiliki dinding yang transparan sehingga panas matahari dapat masuk dan terperangkat didalamnya. Disamping itu alat ini juga dilengkapi dengan kolektor panas yang terbuat dari aluminium, batu hitam dan bagian atas ditutup dengan kaca, sehingga panas matahari dapat masuk, dioptimalkan dan disalurkan kedalam ruang pengering dengan menggunakan kipas input. Kipas input (mengalirkan udara panas dari kolektor panas ke ruang pengering) dan kipas output (menggerakkan uap air dari dalam ruang pengering ke luar) dihidupkan dengan menggunakan listrik yang bersumber dari panel surya. Hasi uji fungsional menunjukkan bahawa alat ini mampu meningkatkan suhu dan menurunkan kelembaban. Suhu rata-rata di dalam ruang pengering adalah 46,66oC atau 6,91oC lebih tinggi dibandingkan suhu rata-rata di luar alat. Kelembaban rata-rata di dalam ruang pengering adalah 15,64% atau 37,63% lebih rendah dibandingkan kelembaban rata-rata di luar alat.

Abstract

Umumnya proses pengupasan buah pinang dikalangan petani masih dilakukan secara manual dengan menggunakan pisau atau alat yang dibuat khusus. Cara pengupasan manual ini memerlukan waktu yang lama dan tenaga kerja yang banyak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merekayasa mesin pengupas buah pinang dan mengekplorasi pengaruh kecepatan putaran screw pengupas terhadap efisiensi hasil pengupasan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan (research and development), fokus penelitian dilakukan pada model elemen pengupas untuk menghasilkan efisiensi pengupasan yang baik. Proses penelitian dibagi menjadi dua tahapan yaitu tahapan rancang bangun dan tahapan uji kinerja mesin. Tahapan rancang bangun terdiri dari rancangan konstruksi, rekayasa elemen pengupas, perhitungan mekanisme mesin, pemilihan material, dan proses pabrikasi. Sedangkan tahapan uji kinerja dilakukan untuk mengetahui kemampuan mesin melakukan pengupasan. Uji kinerja mesin dilakukan menggunakan sampel buah pinang yang sudah dikeringkan. Proses uji kinerja mesin dilakuan dengan 3 tingkatan kecepatan putaran (rpm) diantaranya 632 rpm, 700 rpm, dan 800 rpm. Dari perancangan ini dihasilkan mesin pengupas buah pinang yang sederhana dengan dimensi yang kecil, sehingga memberikan kemudahan dalam pengoperasian dan perawatannya. Mesin ini memiliki ukuran panjang 98 cm, lebar 52,5 cm, dan tinggi 92 cm, menggunakan penggerak motor bakar bensin berkapasitas 6,5 HP, yang dilengkapi dengan transmisi pulli dan sabuk untuk memutar screw pengupas. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan efisiensi pengupas tertinggi sebesar 75% yang terjadi pada kecepatan putaran 700 rpm.

Abstract

 AbstractThis research was purposed to find out the effectiveness of the implementation of learning cycle 5E in improving science process skills of the students in heat and displacement . Pre-Experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test was used in this research. The population is all the students of class VII SMP Swasta Pancasila. Using simple random sampling the sample of this research was VIIA that have 20 studentes. This research instrument used test that have 6 essay questions. The average of the students KPS test result before the implementation of learning cycle 5E was 20,90, where as the students KPS test result after the implementation of learning cycle 5E was at 36,20. T-test was conducted to show an increase after applying learning cycle 5E. Learning cycle 5E models increased students’s KPS on heat and displacement with gain score as of 0.57 in the medium category. In conclusion, learning cycle 5E is applicable to be used as learning method to improve students’s KPS. Keyword: heat and displacement, learning cycle 5E, science process skills.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to find out the differences between student learning outcomes before and after by using the snakes and ladders game as a media in the temperature material in class VII Darut Tauhid Sungai Sungai Raya School and to find out the effect size of student learning outcomes before and after using snakes and ladders game as a media in temperature material in class VII SMP Darut Tauhid Sungai Raya. The research method used was a quantitative method (experiment). The type of research used was Pre-Experimental with the design of One-Group-Pretest-Posttest-Design. The sample of this study was students of class VII B.  Based on the results of data analysis, the difference in average learning outcomes scores from 40.43 to 72.21 or with a difference in the average score of 31.78, as well as the specifications obtained from the increase in students learning outcomes worth 0.53 with a moderate category tested using n-gain test. It  indicated  that the effect size of before and after using the snakes and ladders game as a media in this study has an effect of 48.61% to improve student learning outcomes after using snakes and ladders game as a media on temperature material.Keywords: Learning Outcome , Snakes  Ladders Game

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to developed the four-tier multiple choices diagnostic test of Newton’s law for senior high school students in Singkawang. The  method of research was developed from  Borg and Gall development model which has been simplified into 7 steps,  that were colecting data, planning, designing product, testing in a small scale, revisi, testing in a large scale and revisi final product. The test consist of 15 multiple choice questions which had 4 levels. This test involved 29 students in small scale trials and 181 students in large scale trial. Based on data analyze, four-tier multiple choices diagnostic test developed is proper to used which test caracteristic of high validity level, high reability, low moderate level of difficulty and readability index greater or equal to 5,66. The analysis results of contens validity was 0.83, item validity was 13 question valid, the reability was 0.619, 12 questions was in low moderate level of difficulty, and readability index was 6.71. Student’s response in this test was 85%. So, there were 11 of 15 four-tier multiple choices diagnostic test that could be used for revealed student’s misconception.  Keywords: Development Of Four Tier Diagnostic Multiple Choice, Newton’s Law, Test Characteristics .

Abstract

AbstractThe aims of this research to determine the effectiviness of Predic-Observe-Explain Model using Comic to reduce students misconception in linear motion. This study was a quasy experimental with Pre-test Post-test Control Group Design. The population of this study was tenth grade students in SMP Darut Tauhid Sungai Raya. Theparticipants of this study were 28 students from VII A (control group) and 31 stundents from VII B (experiment group). Z test was used on this study with the significance is 5%. There was sifnificant diferences between Predic-Observe-Explain Model using Comic with conventional model to reduce student misconception in fluida statis. The effectiveness of the misconception remediation activities in linear motion is a accompanied by an Predic-Observe-Explain Model using Comic to reduce the number of students who experienced misconceptions using the DQM price of 70,7% (high category). Abstract

This research and development aims to develop supplementary teaching materials in the form of booklets that are suitable for use by junior high school students in grade VIII. the method used embraces research and development by borg and gall which includes 7 stages out of 10 stages. conducted the feasibility test, content validity test and student response test. the results obtained in the feasibility test include aspects of the display 84.74%, aspects of the presentation of material 78.46% and aspects of the benefits 81.46%. the results of the validity test aspects of the feasibility of the contents, the feasibility of presentation, the assessment of language and the feasibility of graphic conclusions booklet supplement teaching materials are appropriate to use. and got 81.76% of student responses.
