Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the factors that influence anxiety levels of long bone fracture pre operation patients who hospitalized in Arifin Achmad Hospital Pekanbaru. This research used descriptive correlation design with cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in Arifin Achmad Hospital Pekanbaru with 30 people who had long bone fracture and selected based on inclusion criteria. The measuring instrument was questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used are univariate and bivariate used Chi Square test. The result of this research showed that there are significant relationship between socio economic status (p value = 0,049) with patient’s anxiety, and there are no significant relationship between nursing services (p value = 0,440), level of knowledge (p value = 0,024), family support (p value = 0,127) with patient’s anxiety. The result of this study recommend for hospital to increase in psychosocial nursing care and help in directing adaptive coping mechanisms to patient’s who hospitalized so that reduce anxiety. Abstract

The purpose of  this research is to find out relationship between mother’s knowledge about immunization towards the complete basic immunization for toddlers at Dumai Kota Community Health Center Dumai Kota Village. This research used descriptive correlative with cross sectional approach. Sample of this research taken using purposive sampling. This research’s sample composed of 100 mothers who live in Dumai Kota village, Dumai. Data were collected using scale that have been tested for validity.  Data then analyzed using chi-square with significance level of α 0,05. The results showed that both group of the mothers who have complete basic immunization for child 60 respondent (78.8%) and mother who do not have complete basic immunization for child 18 respondent (75%) (p value 0,000 > α 0,05). In conclusion, there is relationship between between mother’s knowledge about immunization towards the complete basic immunization for toddlers at Dumai Kota Community Health Center Dumai Kota Village. Based on this research suggested the family to support the mother to give basic immunization in children to prevent certain disease. Keywords : immunization, basic immunization, knowledge

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research was to identify and analyse macrovascular and microvascular complications among with diabetes mellitus patients in Arifin Achmad Hospital Pekanbaru. The samples was 72 patients with diabetes mellitus sampling used purposive sampling method. The research instrument used the observation sheet. The analysis used univariate and OR. Some respondent on late adulthood experienced macrovascular complications (44.6%) and microvascular (80%) with the OR 3.467, which means late adulthood are at risk for complications 3.467 times larger than early adulthood. OR for long suffered from DM category obtained that some respondents who long suffered from diabetes <5 years had macrovascular complications (64.3%) and microvascular (45%) and the respondents with long suffered from DM>5 years had macrovascular complications (35.7%) and microvascular (55%) with the odds ratio 2.200, which means long suffering from DM <5 years are at risk for macrovascular and microvascular complications 2,200 times more than the respondents with long suffered from DM>5 years. The results of this reserach can provide information for patients in improving the quality of life and prevent complications caused by diabetes. Abstract

Abstract

Abstract Bullying is recognized as a serious issue in the lives of children in school. Bullying is negative behavior that cause inconvenience to someone. This research was aimed to obtain the correlation between the personality type and the group conformity with bullying behavior of the students of Junior High School PGRI Pekanbaru which was designed into descriptive correlation and cross sectional approach. There was 212 respondents as the samples of this research that were taken based on the inclusion’s criteria by using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The measuring instrument used in this research was the questionnarre for the personality type variable, the group conformity variable, and the bullying behavior variable. The data analyses used were univariate analysis in case of obtaining the distribution of frequency and bivariate analysis by using Chi-Square test. The research of correlation between the personality type with bullying behavior showed P value = 0,017 < α = (0,05), so it could be concluded that there was a significant correlation between the personality type and bullying behavior of the students of junior high school PGRI Pekanbaru. The research of correlation between the group conformity with bullying behavior showed P value = 0,219 > α = (0,05), so it could be concluded that there was no significant correlation between the group conformity and bullying behavior of the students of Junior High School PGRI Pekanbaru. The research can be used as a base of information and increase knowledge about personality type, group conformity, and bullying behavior, as well as a reference to bullying behavior that was happening in the community especially of the students of junior High School PGRI Pekanbaru Key words             : Bullying behavior, group conformity, personality type,

Abstract

Positive perceptions and attitudes need to be instilled in the nurse's mind to be more caring and responsible when dealing with psychiatric patients. The differences of working environment will affect perceptions in which nurses in the mental health environment are able to have more negative perceptions and attitudes than other nurses. This study aims to determine the description of perceptions and attitudes of psychiatric-mental health nurses to patients with mental disorders in the inpatient unit. The simple descriptive design with a survey method was used as the research design. This study was conducted to 66 nurses who served in the inpatient unit at Tampan Mental Institution of Riau Province and taken through the total sampling by considering the inclusion criteria. A set of questionnaire that has been tested for its validity and reliability was used as the measuring tool. The analysis used was the univariate analysis of distribution. The results showed that 34 nurses (51.5%) had negative perception to psychiatric patients and 32 nurses (48.5%) showed positive perception to psychiatric patients. In addition, 36 nurses (54.5%) showed a positive attitude to psychiatric patients and 30 nurses (45.5%) showed negative attitudes toward psychiatric patients. The results of this study recommend that the hospital institutions should improve motivation programs for the psychiatric-mental health nurses such as a continuous education program that is linear, seminars with different nurses to improve the same perception and positive attitude of the nurses.Keywords : attitude, mental disorder, perception,

Abstract

Abstract Cesarean section (SC) is an artificial labor in which the fetus is born through an incision in the front wall of the abdominal and uterine walls with the terms of the uterus intact. This study aims to determine the factors associated with patient anxiety level Pre-Operative cesarean section. This design was descriptive correlation research with cross sectional approach. This study used acctidential sampling there were 30 respondents. This study used quesioners about knowledge, family support and anxiety questionnaire Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). The analysis used univariate analysis to determine the frequency distribution and bivariate using Kolmogorof Smirnov test. The results Kolmogorof Smirnov statistical test results prove that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge of the patient's preoperative anxiety SC p value = 0.050 <α (0.05), the family support there is no relationship between family support (p = 0.464) and the economic aspects (p = 0.083), so it can be concluded that good knowledge can reduce anxiety levels. The results of this study are expected to be input for the patient to be able to play an active role in gaining insight into the SC, the family will be expected to provide support and a comfortable atmosphere, and for the institution where the research is expected to apply the results of this study in order to reduce the anxiety level of the patient's pre-operative SC. Keywords: Anxiety level, economic, Fammily support, knowledge

Abstract

Youth period for adolescent considered to be unstable and still looking for identity in between its community, then usually adolescent have to be adaptive with the environment in Islamic boarding school. The purpose of this research was to explore the adolescent self-concept and coping mechanism in Islamic Boarding School. This research uses a descriptive method. This research were using 135 adolescents for samples, based on inclusive criteria using stratified random sampling method. This research was located in SMA Babussalam Pekanbaru. This research were using 40 questionnaires for self-concept and 17 for coping mechanism that have been tested by using validity test and reability test. This research were using univariat analyze to explain the frequency table. The final result of this research for selfconcept showed that the samples tend to be positive than negative, 69 adolescent (51.1%) have positive self-concept and 66 adolescent (48.9%) have negative self-concept. Coping mechanism showed that the samples tend to be adaptive than maladaptive, 95 adolescent (70,4%) have adaptive coping mechanism and 40 adolescent (29,6%) have maladaptive coping mechanism. Based on the result of this study, it is suggested to Islamic Boarding School to maintain and developing mentality program, that adolescent tend to have a positive effect for self-concept and improve its counseling to have an adaptive coping mechanism.Keywords: Adolescent, coping mechanism, Islamic Boarding School, self-concept

Abstract

A nurse in Mental Hospital that was treating patients at risk of violent behavior to accept violence from patients. Violent behavior exhibited by the patient in the from of verbal violence or physical violence, so it will give rise to a different perception on each nurse. In addition, it does not cover the possibility will arise a feeling fear and anxiety on the nurse when treatment for the patients of violent behavior. This research aimed to find out the correlation between the nurse perception about the violent behavior and their anxiety level in providing the treatment in Tampan Mental Hospital, Riau. The research used the correlative descriptive with cross sectional approach as the research design while the respondent was selected with using the total sampling techniques. The respondent of this research consist of 70 nurses. The researcher also used questionnaires which is related with the perception and the anxiety level of nurses to collect the data. After analyzed the data with using kolmogorof-smirnov test, the result shown that 0,233 as p value is bigger than 0,05 as alpha. Therefore, it can be concluded there is no correlation between the nurses perception about the patient with violent behavior and the anxiety level of nurses. Based on the research findings, add insights the nurses about are expected to capable in developing positive perspective and controlling their anxiety in order to provide the better treatment for the patients.Keywords : Anxiety, Perception, Violent Behavior

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a serious illness in which one of the treatments is hemodialysis therapy. It requires good self-management since the patients are prone to experiencing psychosocial problems. The study aims to analyze articles on self-management and psychosocial aspects of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. A literature review is used as a method of the study. There are some tools used to find related articles such as google scholar, scient direct, and PubMed. The English keywords are self-management AND hemodialysis patients, and psychosocial AND hemodialysis patients. While Indonesian keywords are self-management DAN pasien hemodialisis and psikososial DAN pasien hemodialisis in the 2016-2020 period. 7 research articles are analyzed over 19,428 articles that have been screened. The literature review from 7 articles shows that the majority of respondents are aged ≥ 40 years (48.81%) and male (47.5%). Self-management’s assessment of 3 articles using different questionnaires shows that the majority of respondents have poor self-management. Besides, the results of the psychosocial aspects of 4 articles state that most respondents experience anxiety, stress, and depression while they are having good social support. It is recommended for workers in the hemodialysis unit to always encourage patients about the importance of self-management and families to provide support. It helps to reduce the psychosocial impact on patients.Keywords: Hemodialysis, psychosocial, self-management
