Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic resulted in the emergence of accelerated learning that was previously carried out attractively to be courageous in order to suppress the increase in cases of the Covid-19 virus. This study describes what learning problems are faced by students and also lecturers in the Department of Education, Cenderawasih University. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with indicators including, encouraging learning strategies and clarity, quality of learning materials, student involvement and activeness in the brave class (student engagement) and achievement of course learning achievements (CPMK) as a form of evaluating brave learning during the Covid pandemic -19. The results showed that from a student's point of view, learning courage during the Covid-19 pandemic at JIP Cenderawasih University was still not effective and efficient. Some of the reasons behind this are that there are still many students who do not have gadgets as learning media and it is difficult for students to get internet access.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The inventory and disposal of school facilities and infrastructure (sarpras) constitute a critical component of effective and accountable school asset management. However, field observations reveal that many schools—including SMP YPK Hedam and SD YPK Sion Padang Bulan in Jayapura City—have yet to implement these processes in a systematic and compliant manner. Key challenges include the absence of valid inventory data, non-compliance with proper disposal procedures, and limited administrative competence among school personnel. This community service initiative aims to provide both technical and educational support to schools through structured training, simulations, and hands-on practice. The implementation methods include preliminary observations, the development of training materials, demonstrations of inventory and disposal procedures, and participatory evaluations. A participatory approach was employed, involving principals, teachers, and administrative staff in each stage of the program. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants' understanding and skills related to asset recording, the preparation of official disposal reports, and the classification of asset conditions. Furthermore, the activity fostered a collective awareness of the importance of administrative order in managing school infrastructure and resources. In conclusion, the practice-based assistance effectively strengthened schools' managerial capacities, enhanced asset accountability, and laid the groundwork for a more professional and transparent educational administrative system. ABSTRAK Inventarisasi dan penghapusan sarana-prasarana (sarpras) merupakan bagian penting dari pengelolaan aset sekolah yang efektif dan akuntabel. Namun, praktik di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa banyak sekolah, termasuk SMP YPK Hedam dan SD YPK Sion Padang Bulan di Kota Jayapura, belum melaksanakan kedua proses tersebut secara tertib. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mencakup ketiadaan data inventaris yang valid, prosedur penghapusan yang tidak sesuai aturan, serta rendahnya pemahaman administrasi oleh tenaga kependidikan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan teknis dan edukatif kepada pihak sekolah melalui pelatihan, simulasi, dan praktik langsung. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup observasi awal, penyusunan materi pelatihan, demonstrasi prosedur inventarisasi dan penghapusan, serta evaluasi partisipatif. Pendekatan dilakukan secara partisipatif dengan melibatkan kepala sekolah, guru, dan staf administrasi dalam setiap tahapan kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta mengenai pencatatan aset, penyusunan dokumen berita acara penghapusan, serta klasifikasi kondisi barang. Selain itu, terbentuk kesadaran kolektif akan pentingnya tertib administrasi dalam pengelolaan sarpras. Simpulan dari kegiatan ini menegaskan bahwa pendampingan berbasis praktik mampu memperkuat kapasitas manajerial sekolah, meningkatkan akuntabilitas aset, dan menjadi langkah awal menuju sistem administrasi pendidikan yang profesional dan transparan.

Abstract

This service aims to enhance teachers' knowledge and skills in designing innovative learning using the Canva platform as an engaging teaching tool. The method employed in conducting this service was training based on participatory approaches and individual communication. The partners in this service were 35 teachers from SMP Negeri 1 Depapre, Jayapura Regency. The results of this service showed that the teachers possessed knowledge and skills in operating the Canva application. It was evidenced by the outcomes of activities such as designing learning media such as student ID cards or creating math problems using Canva. Throughout the training, there was a high level of enthusiasm from the school staff in learning the Canva platform for teaching purposes relevant to their subject areas. It is hoped that in the future, teachers will continue to develop their abilities in applying Canva to aid in the preparation of teaching materials.

Abstract

SD Negeri Inpres Kampung Tiba-Tiba, Abepura merupakan salah satu sekolah SD yang berlokasi di Kota Jayapura yang belum secara maksimal mengintegrasikan teknologi ke dalam proses pembelajaran melalui pemanfaatan platform Powtoon ke dalam pembuatan media ajar di pembelajaran abad 21. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memfasilitasi para guru-guru sekolah dasar dalam mengembangkan pengetahuan dan kompetensi di bidang digital menggunakan platform Powtoon. Metode pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dengan tiga cara yakni ceramah, drill practice dan evaluasi pelatihan. Adapun subjek dari pelatihan ini adalah guru-guru sekolah dasar. Kegiatan ceramah dilakukan dengan memaparkan materi singkat Powtoon melalui PPT. Selanjutnya, tim pengabdi melakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan media belajar berbasis platform Powtoon. Terakhir, dilakukannya evaluasi guna mengukur pemahaman guru dari kegiatan pelatihan. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah peserta merasakan kebermanfaatan dalam menggunakan Powtoon sebagai salah satu media alternatif membuat bahan ajar. Selain itu, guru merasa terbantu dan terfasilitasi dalam menggunakan Powtoon untuk meningkatkan daya tarik dan keterlibatan siswa, serta membantu memvisualisasikan konsep pembelajaran yang kompleks dengan cara yang mudah dipahami. Dalam jangka panjang, pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat mendorong guru-guru sekolah dasar untuk mengadopsi teknologi pembelajaran yang inovatif dan kreatif dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar sehari-hari

Abstract

ABSTRAK Indonesia memiliki keanekaragaman hayati tinggi, termasuk tanaman pisang yang menyebar luas. Salah satu bagian pisang yang jarang dimanfaatkan adalah jantung pisang, padahal mengandung serat, vitamin, dan mineral yang penting bagi kesehatan. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat Kompleks Perumahan Organda, Kelurahan Hedam, Kota Jayapura dalam mengolah jantung pisang kepok menjadi tepung yang berserat tinggi sebagai sumber karbohidrat alternatif dan bahan tambahan dalam pembuatan kue sehat. Metode yang digunakan mencakup penyuluhan, pelatihan, dan pendampingan kepada 45 peserta, terdiri dari ibu rumah tangga dan remaja. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahap: penyampaian informasi gizi jantung pisang, praktik pengolahan menjadi tepung, serta pengolahan produk olahan seperti kue. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan teknis, serta kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya diversifikasi pangan lokal. Produk akhir berupa kue berserat tinggi dinilai layak konsumsi dan memiliki potensi ekonomis.Kesimpulannya, kegiatan ini berhasil memberdayakan masyarakat dalam mengoptimalkan potensi jantung pisang kepok menjadi produk pangan sehat, bergizi, dan bernilai jual, serta membuka peluang usaha rumahan berbasis bahan lokal. Kata Kunci: Jantung Pisang Kepok; Tepung Alternatif; Pangan Lokal; Ketahanan Pangan.  ABSTRACT Indonesia is rich in biodiversity, including various banana plant varieties that grow across its tropical regions. One often-overlooked part of the banana plant is the banana blossom, despite its high nutritional value containing fiber, vitamins, and essential minerals. This community service program aimed to enhance the skills of residents in the Organda Housing Complex, Hedam Subdistrict, Jayapura City, in processing banana blossom (Musa paradisiaca) into high-fiber flour as an alternative carbohydrate source and a healthier cake ingredient. The methods used included education, training, and mentoring of 45 participants, consisting of housewives and local youth. The program was conducted in three phases: delivering nutrition information, practical training in flour production, and food product development such as high-fiber cakes. The results showed increased knowledge, technical skills, and community awareness regarding the importance of local food diversification. The final product, a high-fiber cake, was found to be both healthy and economically valuable.In conclusion, this program successfully empowered the community to utilize banana blossom as a nutritious and marketable local food product, while also fostering small-scale home-based business opportunities. Keywords: Kepok Banana Heart, Flour Alternative, Local Food, Food Security

Abstract

Abstrak: Indonesia sebagai negara kepulauan memiliki kekayaan sumber daya alam yang melimpah, termasuk potensi air laut sebagai bahan baku pembuatan garam. Di berbagai wilayah pesisir, pemanfaatan air laut belum optimal akibat keterbatasan teknologi, rendahnya keterampilan masyarakat, serta pencemaran lingkungan yang menghambat proses produksi garam secara tradisional. Padahal, pengolahan garam berbasis kearifan lokal memiliki nilai penting dalam pelestarian budaya, penguatan ekonomi lokal, dan pengelolaan sumber daya alam secara berkelanjutan.Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan mendampingi masyarakat Kelurahan Abepantai dalam mengolah air laut menjadi garam berbasis kearifan lokal secara tradisional. Masalah utama yang dihadapi adalah pencemaran air laut akibat sampah rumah tangga yang mengganggu pemanfaatan air laut sebagai sumber garam. Kegiatan dilakukan dalam bentuk penyuluhan, demonstrasi langsung, dan praktik mandiri yang melibatkan 40 peserta masyarakat lokal. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan diskusi kelompok.Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan teknis (hardskill) masyarakat sebesar 75% dalam proses produksi garam, serta peningkatan kesadaran lingkungan (softskill) sebesar 65%. Selain itu, pengolahan garam juga membuka peluang ekonomi baru bagi masyarakat, dengan potensi nilai tambah hingga 50% dari hasil produksi lokal. Kegiatan ini memperkuat pelestarian budaya, pengelolaan sumber daya alam berkelanjutan, dan pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat pesisir secara nyata dan terukur.Abstract: As an archipelagic country, Indonesia possesses abundant natural resources, including the potential of seawater as a raw material for salt production. In various coastal regions, the utilization of seawater remains suboptimal due to technological limitations, low levels of community skills, and environmental pollution, which hinders traditional salt production processes. In fact, salt processing based on local wisdom holds significant value in preserving cultural heritage, strengthening the local economy, and promoting sustainable natural resource management. This community service activity aimed to assist residents of Abepantai Subdistrict in processing seawater into salt through traditional methods rooted in local wisdom. The primary challenge faced was seawater pollution caused by household waste, which disrupts the use of seawater as a salt source. The activities were conducted through public outreach, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice involving 40 local community participants. Evaluation methods included observation, interviews, and group discussions. The results of the program indicated a 75% increase in the community's technical skills (hardskills) in salt production processes and a 65% improvement in environmental awareness (softskills). Furthermore, salt processing has opened new economic opportunities for the community, with a potential added value of up to 50% from locally produced salt. This initiative has contributed to the preservation of cultural heritage, sustainable natural resource management, and tangible, measurable empowerment of coastal community economies.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the managerial competence of principals in improving the professional competence of teachers. The object of research is the principal and teachers in one of the public junior high schools in Jayapura. The approach used is descriptive qualitative which describes explicitly the managerial competence of the principal in improving the professional competence of teachers. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation studies which were then analyzed and tested for validity using the triangulation method. The results of the study show that (1) the principal has carried out the planning function together with the teacher, namely preparing annual programs, semester programs, monthly programs, daily programs, and year-end programs. In addition, the principal and the teacher are directly involved in the preparation of the curriculum. (2) The principal carries out the organizing function by dividing tasks to each teacher according to their competences, the preparation of the school organizational structure always involves all competent school components. (3) The principal carries out the actuating function by motivating teachers for career development, ensuring the implementation of all planned school programs. (4) The principal carries out the control function by playing an active role in supervising and evaluating learning program. In addition, the principal supervises the teacher's performance and follows up on it.Keywords: Managerial competence; competences of teachers; Quantitative Research.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengelolaan stocktaking buku perpustakaan di SMP Papua Kasih. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik penelitian melibatkan tiga jenis strategi, yakni observasi, wawancara dan pengumpulan dokumen, melalui responden yakni pustakawan, guru dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pengklasifikasian buku perpustakaan disusun dan diberikan kode serta label untuk mempermudah pustakawan menyusun kembali buku-buku yang ada serta memudahkan para pengunjung untuk menemukan buku yang ingin dibaca. Buku yang sudah rusak, dilaporkan ke bagian manajemen sekolah untuk ditindaklanjuti dalam mengajukan pengadaan buku ke yayasan sekolah. Ditemukan hambatan yang dialami pihak sekolah adalah pengelolaan yang masih bersifat manual sehingga pencarian buku yang tersedia masih sering lebih lama. Selain itu, keberadaan jumlah tenaga kepustakaan yang kurang sehingga proses kegiatan penataan koleksi buku menjadi sedikit lebih terlambat.
