Abstract

Since one-third of children who snore consistently may have OSAS, understanding the causes is vital. Preventing snoring requires addressing obesity, allergies, and anatomical anomalies. Indoor allergens and enlarged tonsils and adenoids may also cause youngsters to snore. The review aims to identify and categorize key concepts, types of evidence, and research gaps in this area.  The scoping review will follow the methodology and stages outlined by the Joana Briggs Institute ((JBI). The final output will follow the PRISMA-Protocols (PRISMA-P) 2015 checklist. This review serves as a necessary step before conducting a systematic review and clinical studies. Childhood snoring is a common problem that can have adverse effects on a child’s health and well-being. It is importing ant for parents to understand the hazards of snoring and seek support if they suspect their child may have a sleep disorder. Treatment options vary depending on the cause and severity of snoring, and may include lifestyle changes, medication, or surgery. More research is need to better understand the relationship between environmental factors and snoring children, including the impact of pollutant such as NO2 and passive smoking. Early detection and treatment of snoring in children is crucial, as if can have long-term effects on their health and well-being. The conclusion is that knowledge empowers parents to take the necessary steps to ensure the well-being and healthy sleep of their children.

Abstract

Indonesia, the number of people aged >60 years is increasing, leading to a high level of elderly dependency due to physical, mental, and social decline. Lack of social interaction can affect the quality of life of the elderly, leaving them isolated and lonely. This changes their role in social interaction in the family and society. This study aims to see the effect of providing socialization group activity therapy through storytelling cards in improving the social interaction of the elderly with loneliness. This research is a quantitative quasi-experiment one-group pretest-posttest with the control group, purposive sampling technique, and dependent t-test statistical test with a research sample of 60 respondents, 30 respondents for the intervention group and 30 respondents for the control group. The inclusion criteria for this study were age> 60 years, independent and cooperative elderly, living in PSTW for 1 month or more, understanding Indonesian (able to communicate well), having good hearing and vision, not suffering from stroke/other chronic diseases, and willing to become research respondents by giving informed consent. The exclusion criteria were the elderly <65 years old, did not live in PSTW, did not understand Indonesian (inability to communicate well), had poor hearing and vision, the elderly were suffering from stroke and other chronic diseases, and refused to be research subjects/respondents. This study used a social interaction questionnaire and a loneliness scale version 3 questionnaire developed by Russell in 1996. Statistically, the average result is 1.83333 from 30 respondents, and the p-value is 0.001. There is an effect of providing socialization group activity therapy through storytelling cards on increasing the social interaction of the elderly with loneliness.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, heart disease patients were at very high risk of experiencing severe complications if exposed to the virus. One important effort in preventing cardiovascular diseases is to identify the cardiovascular risk factors in each individual. There are several models for detecting risk, one of which is the Jakarta Cardiovascular Score. Health promotion is also an effort to manage modifiable risk factors for heart disease. Health promotion is expected to prevent risky behaviors that lead to an increase in heart disease incidence in the long term. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of early detection and health promotion in changing the attitudes and lifestyles of residents at risk of heart disease post-Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used in this study is a quasi-experimental design with one group of 30 respondents. The study was conducted in the working area of the Pasar Minggu District Health Center in Jakarta. The results showed that after the intervention, which included early detection and health promotion, there was a change in attitude by 0.8 points, from 88.13 (before intervention) to 88.95 (after intervention). The T-test results showed a p-value of 0.004, indicating a statistically significant difference between before and after the intervention. The respondents' lifestyle also changed by 5.5 points, from 66.03 (before intervention) to 71.62 (after intervention), with a p-value of 0.004, indicating a statistically significant difference between before and after the intervention.

Abstract

Severe mental disorders such as schizophrenia can cause autonomic nervous system dysfunction, leading to hemodynamic changes including increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, and decreased heart rate variability. These physiological changes often appear before hallucinations, indicating the need for early detection technology based on physiological signals to prevent symptom escalation. This study developed the Hemodynamic Early Warning System (Alert Therapy Hemodynamic) to detect pre-hallucination hemodynamic patterns and to strengthen patient self-efficacy. The study used a simplified Borg & Gall Research and Development (R&D) model, consisting of five stages: needs identification, system design, prototype development, user testing, and revision. The prototype was created through multidisciplinary collaboration and includes multimodal sensors (HR, HRV, blood pressure), a pattern-detection algorithm, and a biofeedback module. Initial user testing evaluated function, comfort, and usability using the Functionality, Usability, Look-and-Feel, Evaluation (FULE) approach. The results showed that the pre-hallucination hemodynamic patterns were consistent with the literature, and the prototype functioned well and was accepted by users. This innovation is important for nurses, who play a key role in early detection of patient condition changes and in preventing symptom worsening. The system has the potential to improve recognition of early physical signs, enhance patient self-control, and increas clinical safety. Considering this urgency, future studies should include pre-clinical and limited clinical trials to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, and safety of this real-time HR/HRV-based pre-hallucination early detection tool in real patient populations.
