Abstract

This research aims to analyze children's character education through literacy skills by applying the Six E's approach. The study uses qualitative methods, including unstructured interviews and observations in elementary schools in Bengkulu City. Findings reveal that independent reading literacy for 15 minutes has several weaknesses, such as limited time, unengaging references, and lack of guidance. The study highlights the importance of developing holistic literacy skills, including comprehension, analysis, and text evaluation. The Six E's approach is expected to enhance literacy skills and shape children's character through meaningful text interactions and critical activities. Therefore, it serves as a useful guide for teachers to improve children's literacy quality

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the body painting method on the understanding of muscle anatomy in physical education students. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study using a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects of the study were 4th semester students consisting of class A and class B totaling 52 students. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test. The quality test of the test item assessment instrument included validity test, reliability test, question difficulty test, and question discrimination test. The data analysis technique used was a hypothesis test with a t-test to see the difference in understanding of muscle anatomy in the experimental class and the control class with a significance level of 5%. The results of the study showed that there was an effect of the body painting method on understanding muscle anatomy in physical education students. This effect was proven by the results of the t-test on the posttest of the experimental class and the control class obtained tcount ? ttable (2.799> 1.676) with a sig (2 tailed) value of 0.007 <0.05, where tcount is greater than ttable with a sig value less than 0.05.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi yang pesat telah membawa dampak signifikan terhadap kehidupan remaja, terutama dalam penggunaan gadget yang berlebihan. Fenomena ini berkontribusi terhadap berbagai masalah, seperti gangguan kesehatan fisik dan mental, penurunan prestasi akademik, serta berkurangnya interaksi sosial. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran remaja mengenai dampak negatif penggunaan gadget berlebihan serta memberikan strategi yang efektif dalam mengelola penggunaannya secara bijak. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah sosialisasi berbasis edukasi interaktif melalui penyampaian materi, diskusi, serta simulasi digital detox. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Bengkulu Utara, dan melibatkan remaja, orang tua, serta pemangku kepentingan setempat. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap risiko penggunaan gadget berlebihan serta adanya penurunan intensitas penggunaan gadget, terutama dalam durasi harian dan sebelum tidur. Sosialisasi ini mendapatkan respons positif dan direkomendasikan untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut dalam bentuk program literasi digital yang berkelanjutan dengan keterlibatan sekolah dan komunitas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze publication trends, conceptual network structures, and key theme clusters in adaptive learning and learning style research in the Social Sciences field from 2016 to 2025 using a bibliometric approach. Data were obtained from the Scopus database using VOSviewer software and OpenRefine for visualization and analysis. The results show a significant upward trend in publications, particularly in 2020–2024, with a peak of 78 documents in 2024, triggered by the digital transformation of education due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The conceptual network structure reveals learning style as a central node connecting various research domains, with a temporal evolution from a descriptive-theoretical to an implementative-technological paradigm. Cluster analysis identified eight main themes dominated by psychological-individual aspects (21 items), adaptive-personalization systems (20 items), learning technology (19 items), and AI-based management (17 items). These findings confirm that adaptive learning and learning style research have evolved from conceptual exploration to intelligent technology implementation, with learning style as the main foundation. This study contributes by mapping the evolution of the theme and identifying potential areas for future research, particularly in AI-based learning personalization.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru SMP di Kota Bengkulu dalam menulis artikel ilmiah untuk jurnal bereputasi nasional. Program ini menjawab kebutuhan mendesak guru yang memerlukan publikasi ilmiah sebagai syarat kenaikan pangkat ke golongan IVa, sekaligus membangun budaya literasi ilmiah di lingkungan pendidikan. Metode pelaksanaan mengadopsi pendekatan hibrida yang mengintegrasikan pelatihan luring intensif dengan pendampingan daring berkelanjutan selama 8-10 minggu. Kegiatan luring mencakup empat komponen utama: pemahaman publikasi ilmiah dan jurnal bereputasi, transformasi masalah pembelajaran menjadi topik penelitian, perancangan metodologi penelitian, serta penguasaan struktur artikel dan manajemen referensi. Pendampingan daring dilaksanakan melalui webinar berkala, konsultasi individual, peer review terstruktur, dan pembentukan kelompok mentoring menggunakan platform Zoom, WhatsApp Group, dan Google Drive. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dengan rata-rata progress peserta mencapai 73,31%, dimana lima peserta mencapai nilai sempurna dan 80% peserta menyatakan puas terhadap program. Kegiatan ini berhasil membangun fondasi komunitas penulis aktif di kalangan guru SMP Kota Bengkulu, dengan target 70% artikel tersubmit dan 40% terpublikasi dalam setahun, berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran dan pengembangan karir profesional guru.

Abstract

Students in many parts of Indonesia continue to face challenges such as hunger, low concentration, and unequal access to adequate nutrition, which negatively affect learning readiness and academic engagement. This study examines the implementation of the Free Nutritious School Meal Program and its implications for student well-being and learning in a public vocational high school in Bengkulu City, Indonesia. The study addresses the urgency of understanding how school feeding policies are operationalized at the school level to respond to students' nutritional and learning needs. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The study involved purposively selected participants, including school leaders, teachers, students, and parents. The findings indicate that the program has been implemented through structured stages of preparation, distribution, supervision, and evaluation, contributing to improved student energy levels, learning engagement, healthy behaviors, and discipline. However, challenges related to logistics, staffing, infrastructure, and communication with food providers were identified. The study recommends strengthening school management capacity, improving infrastructure, and developing evidence-based monitoring systems to enhance program sustainability and effectiveness.

Abstract

This study examines the alignment between ideal needs and the actual availability of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PESH) facilities at the secondary school level. Adequate PESH facilities are essential to support safe, effective, and student-centered learning; however, many schools, particularly in resource-limited contexts, face persistent infrastructural constraints. The urgency of this research lies in the need to move beyond descriptive assessments of facility availability toward an evaluative understanding of gaps and policy responses. The study aims to identify the ideal PESH facility needs, assess actual facility conditions, analyze discrepancies between standards and practice, and examine school-level policies to address these gaps. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed using the Discrepancy Evaluation Model (DEM). The research population consisted of school leaders, PESH teachers, and facility management staff, with participants selected through purposive sampling based on their roles and involvement in facility management. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal low to moderate alignment between ideal standards and actual provision, with significant gaps in facility quantity, quality, supporting infrastructure, and maintenance systems. Despite these limitations, PESH learning continues through adaptive instructional strategies and collaboration with external stakeholders. The study recommends strengthening needs-based facility planning, establishing systematic maintenance procedures, and developing specific school-level policies to support sustainable PESH facility development. The study concludes that improving PESH learning quality requires systematic facility planning and targeted policy frameworks to progressively reduce discrepancies and ensure sustainable educational development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the leadership of school principals in developing the competencies of school administrative staff at SMK Negeri 1 Bengkulu Selatan as a Center of Excellence Vocational School. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design involving six participants, consisting of one principal, one school administrative staff head, and four school administrative staff. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations during four weeks of school hours, and documentation studies, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that leadership is manifested through vision development, routine supervision and evaluation every semester, implementation of needs-based education and training, provision of feedback, resource development, strengthening of cooperation, and development of a school culture based on 6S values. school administrative staff competencies have met the standards of Permendiknas Number 24 of 2008, but there is a gap in ICT competencies, where out of 25 school administrative staff, only 15 are proficient in using computer applications, so 40% still need strengthening. Limited BOSP budgets are also a factor hindering professional development.
