Abstract

This study aims to analyze the condition of tourism industry activities, with and without the COVID-19 pandemic. The tourism industries studied are hotel, culinary, travel and tourist sites businesses. The sample obtained in a pandemic condition was only 132 industries , carried out in 3 tourism base areas in Aceh Province, namely Banda Aceh City, Aceh Besar District and Sabang City or Pulau Weh. The study was analyzed using the Quantitative Descriptive Method and The Wilcoxon Test on the tourism industry by comparing the activities of working hours, labor wages expenditure , revenues and other operational costs between with and without the Covid 19 Pandemic. The results reveal that there is a significant difference from the activities of the tourism industry working hours, labor wage expenditure , revenue and other operating costs, with and without a pandemic covid 19. Cost, revenue and profit significantly decreased tourism industries caused by the shrinkage of business activities in the condition of pandemic . The decline in tourism industry revenues was caused by a decrease in the demand for services by tourists, while the labor cost decreased due to a decrease in the number of workers and working hours. It is hoped that government policies will facilitate tourist mobility and do not apply obstacles with very strict large-scale social restrictions. Keywords: Covid 19 Pandemic, Tourism Industry, Wilcoxon Test, Aceh Province

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of working capital, transparency accountability, community participation, and environmental turbulence on the financial performance of Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). The data used are primary data by distributing questionnaires to respondents consisting of 54 people. The sampling technique used a probability sample with simple random sampling. The research data was then processed using multiple regression analysis techniques aimed at knowing and analyzing the effect of exogenous variables either partially or simultaneously on endogenous variables. The results show that working capital, accountability, transparency, community participation, and turbulence together have a significant effect on financial performance, but not partially, there are only three of the five independent variables that have a significant positive effect on the financial performance of BUMDes, namely working capital, accountability and environmental turbulence with parameter coefficient values that are not yet high. For this reason, it is necessary for BUMDes to provide open information in order to attract public interest to participate as well as support and evaluation from relevant agencies so that the performance of BUMDes is better.

Abstract

Zakat is an important instrument and plays a role in improving community welfare. The distribution of productive zakat properly and the use of technology in empowerment activities can support the improvement of the mustahiq economy. This study aims to analyze the distribution of productive zakat by Baitul Mal Aceh and the role of technology by mustahiq in improving welfare. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by interviewing Baitul Mal Aceh, 40 productive zakat mustahiq and academics. The data obtained are explained using interactive techniques. The results of the study indicate that the business capital assistance program managed by Baitul Mal Aceh consists of 3 programs, namely mustahiq empowerment through the provision of ultra-micro capital, Zakat Family Development (ZFD) and mustahiq empowerment through partners. The three programs have not had a significant impact on improving the welfare of mustahiq. This is due to several things, namely mustahiq have not been able to develop their businesses, have not been maximized, lack of supervision and assistance to mustahiq businesses, and do not have a good mentoring concept. The use of technology that is not optimal is also an obstacle in improving the welfare of mustahiq. Therefore, comprehensive support is needed from various parties such as the government, society and other institutions that support the realization of productive zakat in improving the welfare of mustahiq.

Abstract

Inclusive economic growth is a key priority in regional development, particularly in areas that adopt an Islamic economic system, such as the City of Banda Aceh. However, challenges such as persistent poverty and the suboptimal utilisation of Islamic philanthropy continue to hinder the strengthening of regional economic performance. This study aims to examine the effects of the Human Development Index (HDI), poverty rate, and zakat/infaq/sedekah (ZIS) on the economic growth of Banda Aceh from 2015 to 2024. A quantitative approach was employed, using a time series linear regression model. Secondary data were obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Baitul Mal Aceh, and other official sources. The findings reveal that HDI has a positive and statistically significant effect on economic growth. In contrast, poverty and ZIS do not have a significant individual impact. Nevertheless, the model demonstrates strong explanatory power, with a significance level of 0.002. These results suggest that improving human capital through HDI is a critical driver of economic growth. Accordingly, development policies in Banda Aceh should prioritise investment in education and health sectors, alongside the expansion of productive zakat programmes, to foster sustainable economic growth rooted in Islamic values.
