Abstract

This paper focuses on unlocking the creative potential of architecture students through an exploration of the Four C model of creativity. This model extends the traditional understanding of creativity and offers a comprehensive framework for fostering innovation in architecture. It introduces "mini-c" and "Pro-c" dimensions, highlighting creativity within the learning process and the attainment of professional expertise. Architecture demands a blend of technical skills and artistic expression for effective communication of ideas. However, nurturing creative thinking among architecture students faces challenges, including fear of experimentation and traditional teaching methods. To address these obstacles, the paper suggests integrating problem-based learning (PBL) and mind mapping techniques. PBL encourages collaboration and critical thinking, while mind mapping stimulates visual and associative thinking, aiding idea generation and organization. Additionally, the role of technology in architecture education is explored, emphasizing the benefits of mixed learning environments that enhance collaboration and creativity. Embracing technology readiness equips students with tools to tackle real-world challenges and create innovative designs. In conclusion, this paper underscores the importance of creative thinking in architectural design and its implications for the discipline's future. By adopting the Four C model, implementing PBL with mind mapping, and leveraging technology, educators can revolutionize architecture education, nurturing a new generation of architects prepared to shape the evolving world with imaginative and visionary designs.

Abstract

It is considering that the market has now switched to digital through the world of social media. Skills in attracting buyers and digital marketing need to be improved for Home Industry entrepreneurs to compete and survive in the industrial market. By providing training in product photo making, at least it can provide new insights and knowledge that good product photos do not have to be done with sophisticated equipment and in a luxurious studio. However, producing interesting product photos can be done with a simple photo trick, like using only a handphone camera that almost everyone has, minimal software application, and simple equipment that helps to improve the results later. After delivering the theory and direct experiments, it is hoped that the knowledge and skills gained will continue to be remembered, utilized, honed, and continuously developed by themselves. Trial and error using more advanced photo editing application software that is widely available on mobile devices today, both free and paid. In the end, making attractive product photos, of course, will become a good weapon and increase competition in marketing Home Industry products, and the goal is to attract many buyers.

Abstract

It investigates the criticalperspectives of cultural geography, urban sociology and critical theory, through analyses of the city, urbanspace and its gendering, and the monument. A duality emerges between public art which is bound by theaesthetics of the object, and art as a continuous, participatory process of social criticism. The relation between conventional public art and urban development is one of complicity, whilst emergingpractices of art offer resistance to conceptualizations of the city which exclude the interests of its inhabitants. Two roles for art are suggested as decoration within a re-visioned field of urban design in which the needs ofusers are central, and as a social process of criticism and engagement, defining the public realm not as publicsites but as complex fields of public interest. The tension between these positions is creative.Research method of this paper is to construct bridges between, on one hand, contemporary practices of artand design for urban public spaces, and, on the other, critiques of the city generated in disciplines such asurban sociology and geography, informed by critical theories of society and culture. From this it is possibleto speculate on the roles of artists and designers in urban futures. This paper aim is bringing together a range of related but independent perspectives from different disciplines;it goes beyond the restrictions of aesthetic judgement to situate the practice of art for the public realm interms of social needs and structures of value, and suggests ways in which the perspective of art, as work ofthe imagination, might also contribute to a critique of the city and to sustainable and convivial urban futures. Keywords: city, art. design, urban design, future city.

Abstract

This paper investigates the adaptation of sustainable architectural designs for sloping sites by building in the natural context. While sloping sites can create certain design restrictions, they can also be a source of design innovation that takes advantage of the existing topography. The present research aims to determine design approaches, which build both visual and functional equilibrium to the buildings, while efficiently providing comfort and ecological nature of the buildings. The use of qualitative analysis of four case studies, Ncaved House in Greece, UCCA Dune Art Museum in China, La Escondida Apartments in Mexico, and Private House in Thusis in Switzerland reveals that the successful integration of buildings into the landscape is aided by the usage of local materials, use of daylight and cross-ventilation and shelter from extreme weather conditions among other factors. Each case study looks at how the design resolved the challenge of a sloped site and perspectives of ecology and aesthetics. These insights are important for designers as they address the issue of how to maximize the design’s ecological sensitivity and beauty, without shunning sloped sites but instead using them as positives in the overall architectural design scheme.

Abstract

In an increasingly globalized world, the preservation of national identity through authentic urban spaces faces significant challenges. As cities expand and modernize, the balance between sustainability, cultural heritage, and technological advancements becomes more difficult to achieve. This paper explores the intersection of sustainability and advanced social intelligence in urban planning, focusing on how these multidisciplinary approaches can help revitalize nationalism by maintaining the authenticity of space and place. Sustainability initiatives in urban development often prioritize environmental efficiency and smart growth but may inadvertently threaten the cultural and historical elements that define a nation's identity. By leveraging advanced social intelligence, such as data-driven decision-making, community participation, and real-time analytics, cities can manage growth while protecting the cultural integrity of their urban landscapes. This paper highlights successful case studies from both global and local contexts where urban spaces have been carefully preserved and modernized in ways that reinforce national pride and identity. Through a comprehensive analysis, this study argues that preserving the authenticity of urban spaces—especially historical districts, architectural landmarks, and culturally significant areas—plays a critical role in sustaining national identity in the face of rapid urbanization. Furthermore, it emphasizes the need for a multidisciplinary approach, integrating architecture, urban planning, technology, and sociology to create a sustainable urban framework that respects cultural heritage while fostering innovation. The paper offers insights into how advanced social intelligence and sustainability can be effectively combined to support the authenticity of urban spaces, thereby contributing to a renewed sense of nationalism and cultural cohesion in modern cities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of industrial heritage conservation in shaping local identity through a comparative analysis of two industrial sites: Colomadu in Indonesia and Zhujiadian in China. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through archival research, field observations, and stakeholder interviews. The findings reveal that adaptive reuse has contributed to economic growth by attracting tourism and investments while fostering a blend of modernity and tradition. However, commercialization poses challenges to maintaining the authenticity of these heritage sites. In Colomadu, the transformation into a cultural and heritage center reflects regional pride and integration with modern tourism. Meanwhile, Zhujiadian’s as a cultural hub hasrevitalized local economies but raised concerns about preserving historical integrity. This study underscores the importance of a balanced approach to heritage conservation, honoring authenticity while addressing contemporary economic and lifestyle needs.

Abstract

Tourism plays an important role in shaping the economic development of cities and communities. Heritage sites have a major impact on the economy, making an important contribution to economic growth and development. 3D digital conservation, apart from being useful for preserving historical heritage, also functions as promotional media by utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT). By making 3D models of historical heritage objects, apart from preserving cultural heritage sites, they are also used as promotional media to increase tourism and economic benefits for the community. From the results obtained, it can show satisfactory results. The 3D shape created can provide an overview and information about the geometric shape and condition of the heritage building site, which is quite well captured. The hope is that this can provide information and attract tourists to visit the historical site, namely "Mount Wudel" in Jepara. Making 3D models will of course increase their attractiveness and also serve as a medium for digital conservation.

Abstract

This paper delves into the intricate relationship between heritage trails and cycling tourism, specifically focusing on the case study of the heritage-rich city of Surakarta. The convergence of heritage trails and cycling tourism forms a dynamic nexus that influences both the experiences of tourists and their expectations. The notion of the "tourist gaze" serves as a foundational framework, shedding light on tourists' perceptions and anticipations of Surakarta's cultural heritage, culinary offerings, and local populace. Rooted in socially constructed constructs, the tourist gaze significantly shapes how tourists interpret and emotionally engage with Surakarta as a destination. Through a qualitative exploratory approach, this study delves into the multifaceted interplay between heritage trails, cycling experiences, and the tourist gaze. Data is derived from in-depth interviews with tourists engaging in heritage cycling trails, capturing their subjective accounts of experiences and expectations. The findings unveil a range of themes, including the influence of heritage sites on cyclists' emotional connection with the city, the role of the tourist gaze in framing their encounters, and the impact of well-designed heritage trails on overall satisfaction. The study not only advances our understanding of the complex interrelationship between heritage trails, cycling tourism, and the tourist gaze, but also offers practical insights for heritage site management, urban planning, and tourism experience enhancement in Surakarta and beyond.
