Abstract

Natural wealth has a variety of herbal plants, plants that are included in it efficacious as medicine. Traditional medicine, is an ingredient or herb that is usually used as traditional medicine and is used to accelerate the healing of diseases, one of the plants used to accelerate wound healing is basil leaves (Ocimum basilicum L.). This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of basil leaf gel preparations against wound healing in white rats (Rattus norvegicus). The test animals used were 15 rats. A 1 cm cut wound is made on the back of the mouse using a scalpel. The method used in this study is in the form of laboratory experiments. This study used a Complete Randomized Design (CDR) consisting of 5 treatments, including 1 negative control, 1 positive control (bioplacenton), and 3 stratified concentrations, namely 5% concentration gel, 10% concentration gel and 15% concentration gel with 3 repetitions each. The treatment is carried out for 7 days. The results of measuring wound diameter in rats based on the results showed that basil leaf extract gel concentration of 15% provided a healing effect more effective than other extracts.

Abstract

An incision is a wound that splits the skin area due to being cut by a sharp object. Indonesian people use medicinal plants very much in traditional or modern medicine. One of the plants that can be used as a medicinal ingredient is fragrant pandan leaves which can accelerate the wound healing process. This study aims to determine the level of effectiveness of pandan leaf extract as a healer for cuts. This study used 15 white rats which were then slashed on their backs using a 1 cm long scalpel with a depth of ± 2 mm. This study used a laboratory experiment using a completely randomized design consisting of 5 treatment groups, including 1 negative control, positive control (10 percent povidone iodine) and 3 graded concentrations, namely pandan leaf extract concentrations of 5.10 to 15 percent with 2 each. repetition times. The results of measuring the length of the wound in rats showed that fragrant pandan leaf extract with a concentration of 10 percent and 15 percent had the same effectiveness.

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of banana weevil gel preparations against healing burns in white rats (Rattus norvegicus). The test animals used were 15 rats. A burn of 2.5 cm was made on the back of the mouse using metal coins. The method used in this study is in the form of laboratory experiments. This study used a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 5 treatments, including 1 negative control, 1 positive control (bioplacenton), and 3 stratified concentrations, namely 5% concentration gel, 10% concentration gel and 15% concentration gel with 3 repetitions each. The treatment is carried out for 14 days. The results of measuring wound diameter in rats based on the results showed that banana weevil extract gel concentration of 15% provided a healing effect more effective than other extracts.

Abstract

The membrane structure of Mycobacterium smegmatis is similar to that of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, allowing TB testing to be performed on Mycobacterium smegmatis without directly testing on Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Antibacterial testing uses the paper disc method with several treatments, namely extract concentrations of 1 µg/disc, 2 µg/disc, and 4 µg/disc, as well as positive control streptomycin 2 µg/disc and negative control 70% ethanol. The research results obtained at Extract Concentrations of 1, 2, and 4 µg/disc have moderate antibacterial activity seen from the inhibitory zone diameter, namely 8.73 mm, 9.17 mm, and 9.73 mm, and the positive control is strong because it has a zone diameter of 13.27 and the negative control does not give a zone. The conclusion is that the extract of siam pumpkin leaves has moderate antibacterial activity.

Abstract

Vaccine management is one of the management procedures for drug management in healthcare and is critical throughout the healthcare system. This study aims to evaluate the suitability of storing the Covid-19 vaccine in the Pharmacy Installation of the Regional Health Office of Sulawesi Province. This research method is observation with descriptive method. Data collection is done retrospectively with an observation approach or data collection is done all at once. The data taken by this study was carried out using a check list. The research was conducted at the Pharmacy Installation of the Regional Health Office of North Sulawesi Province. The results of the study showed officers and training 1 indicator was appropriate and 2 indicators were not appropriate with a percentage of 33.33%, storage buildings 5 indicators were appropriate and 3 indicators were not compatible with a percentage of 55.55%, storage facilities 8 indicators were appropriate and 11 indicators not according to the percentage of 72.72%, operational storage of 7 indicators according to and 13 indicators not in accordance with the percentage of 53.84%, storage maintenance of 1 indicator according to and 13 indicators not in accordance with the percentage of 7.69%, Qualification, Calibration and Validation of 0 indicators is appropriate and 3 indicators are not in accordance with a percentage of 100%. The conclusion is that overall the percentage is not up to standard with a percentage of 72.72%.

Abstract

Kemampuan antibiotik dalam mengatasi maupun mencegah penyakit infeksi menyebabkan penggunaannya mengalami peningkatan yang luar biasa belum lagi dengan penjualan yang dilakukan secara bebas di apotek, toko obat, kios atau warung membuat penggunaannya menggunakan secara tidak tepat atau tidak rasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat gambaran karakteristik pengguna antibiotik tanpa resep dokter di Desa Buyat Kec. Kotabunan Kab.Boltim. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain observasional deskriptif dengan menggunakan rumus slovin untuk penarikan sampelnya dan dibatasi enam variabel (jenis kelamin, keluhan utama, sumber informasi, tempat membeli, jenis antibiotik dan lama pemakaian). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa masyarakat Desa Buyat Kecamatan Kotabunan Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow Timur dengan keluhan utama saat mengkonsumsi antibiotik terdapat 32 orang (38.55%) dengan keluhan luka ringan dan 51 orang (61.44%) dengan keluhan batuk/flu dimana 70 responden (84.3%) menggunakan antibiotik jenis amoksisilin dan 13 responden (15.6) menggunakan jenis antibiotik ampisilin. Berdasarkan sumber informasi mengenai antibiotik dan tempat membeli antibiotik didapati 83 responden (100%) mengatakan keluarga sebagai informasi utama serta warung sebagai sarana untuk mendapatkan obat antibiotik. Kemudian dilihat dari berdasarkan lama pemakaiannya semua responden 83 orang (100%) mengatakan menggunakannya kurang dari tiga hari.

Abstract

Profil Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Minahasa Utara tahun 2021 menyatakan ISPA merupakan penyakit dengan jumlah kasus tertinggi yaitu sebesar 19.316 kasus dan Puskesmas Airmadidi merupakan Puskesmas dengan kasus ISPA tertinggi dengan rata-rata 500 kasus tiap bulannya.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi rasionalitas penggunaan antibiotik pada ISPA non pneumonia anak di Puskesmas Airmadidi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pengambilan data secara retrospektif di Puskesmas Airmadidi. Data yang diambil meliputi nama, umur, alamat, diagnosa, jumlah item obat, penggunaan antibiotik, nama antibiotik, dosis, interval waktu pemberian dan lama pemakaian antibiotik berdasarkan buku register pasien dan data rekam medik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian evaluasi rasionalitas penggunaan antibiotik pada pasien ISPA non pneumonia anak usia 0-59 bulan di Puskesmas Airmadidi bulan Agustus – Oktober 2022 yang dibandingkan dengan Permenkes RI no 5 tahun 2014 tentang Panduan Praktis Klinis Bagi Dokter di Fasilitas Pelayanan Kesehatan Primer diperoleh hasil tidak ada ketepatan pada indikasi, pemilihan obat, dosis, interval waktu pemberian dan lama pemberian antibiotik. Persentase penggunaan antibiotik pada ISPA non pneumonia anak di Puskesmas Airmadidi bulan AgustusOktober 2022 sebesar 25% melebihi batas indikator yang ditetapkan Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia yaitu tidak melebihi 20%.

Abstract

Sereh (Cymbopogon ciratus) termasuk tanaman obat banyak digunakan sebagai obat tradisional, daun sereh secara empiris digunakan untuk menurukan demam. Kenaikan suhu tubuh diatas normal disebut demam yaitu 36-37ºC. Antipiretik merupakan obat yang dipergunakan dalam penurunan suhu tubuh ketika orang menderita demam. Tujuan penelitian dalam melihat efektivitas infusa daun sereh (Cymbopogon ciratus) untuk antipiretik kepada Rattus norvegicus (tikus putih jantan)diinduksi vaksin DPT-Hb. Pengujian mempergunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap. Pengujian ini terdapat 5 perlakuan yakni kontrol negatif (Na-CMC), Kontrol positif (Paracetamol) dan kelompok uji yaitu pemberian infusa daun sereh dosis 6,3 mg/200grBB, 12,6 mg/200grBB, dan 25,2 mg/200grBB. Pengukuran suhu dilaksanakan sebelum diberikan vaksin DPT-Hb dan sesudah diberikan vaksin DPT-Hb. Tikus putih jantan diinduksi vaksin DPT-Hb dengan dosis 0,2 mL secara intramuscular. Suhu rektal diukur selama 3 jam dengan interval waktu 30 menit. Data yang didapatkan di analisis dengan paired sample test lalu dengan pengujian ANOVA dan Uji HSD (Honestly Significant Difference). Hasil penelitian menunjukan pada uji efek antipiretik menunjukkan penurunan suhu pada menit ke-180 pada dosis 6,3 mg/200grBB mengalami penurunan sebanyak 0,64ºC, pada dosis 12,6 mg/grBB mengalami penurunan suhu sebanyak 0,9ºC sedangkan pada dosis 25,2 mg/200grBB mengalami penurunan sebanyak 1,07ºC.

Abstract

Free radicals can originate from within the human body as a result of metabolic processes from chemical reactions in the body, as well as from external sources or the environment, including emissions from motor vehicles, air pollution from factories, industrial chemicals, food and beverage substances, cigarette smoke, radiation, and sunlight. Antioxidants are components that can prevent cells or molecules from being oxidised by donating electrons or hydrogen atoms to free radicals. The impact of the reactivity of free radical compounds can result in cell or tissue damage, degenerative diseases, and even cancer. One of the parasites on the moringa plant, namely Helixanthera cylindrica (Jack) Danser, contains secondary metabolite compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, and saponins. This research aimed to determine whether the leaves of the Helixanthera cylindrica (Jack) Danser mistletoe have antioxidant activity using the 2,2-Diphenyl-1-Picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. The research method is a laboratory experiment with five concentrations and three repetitions. Subsequently, the antioxidant activity testing is conducted qualitatively using the DPPH method at a wavelength of 517 nm and utilising a Spectrophotometer UV-Vis. Based on the results of the antioxidant test, the extract of Helixanthera cylindrica (Jack) Danser leaves has extreme activity with an IC50 value of 28.74 ppm. In contrast, the comparison, vitamin C has an IC50 value of 1.57 ppm. The regression equation for the concentration of the mistletoe is y=0.3344x + 40.389 with an R2 value of 0.9726, and Vitamin C shows y=4.4065x + 43.079 with an R² value of 0.9677. It can be concluded that the leaves of Helixanthera cylindrica (Jack) Danser on the Moringa oleifera plant have extreme antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Clerodendrum minahassae leaves contain various bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, and phenolic acids, contributing to their pharmacological activity. This study aims to identify the main bioactive compounds in Leilem leaves (Clerodendrum minahassae) and their pharmacological potential through a literature review of various relevant scientific sources. The methodology employed includes systematic observation and meta-analysis. This review article describes the compounds present in Leilem leaves and evaluates their pharmacological activities, thereby enhancing the understanding of this underexplored medicinal plant. The findings indicate that Leilem leaves hold substantial potential as a source of bioactive molecules with diverse pharmacological properties. Based on a review of multiple scientific research articles, it can be concluded that Leilem leaves exhibit considerable efficacy in antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activities, as well as in reducing blood glucose levels.
