Introduction: Patients with Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) cannot survive if they do not do hemodialysis. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the experience, the hope of patients with CRF who undergo hemodialysis in order to continue hemodialysis routinely and can improve the quality of their lives even though their lives depend on hemodialysis. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of life of patients with CRF in undergoing hemodialysis as an effort to improve the quality of life. Methods: This study was a quantitave study using analytic descriptive approach. There were 66 patients as sample. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistic using World Health Organization Quality of Life Instruments (WHOQoL-Bref) as a quality of life questionnare. Results: This study shows the highest quality of life of research respondents undergoing hemodialysis in the high category (68.2%). This means the quality of life of patients undergoing hemodialysis is good enough. Conclusions: A good quality of life means that the respondent feels satisfied and most of his daily needs can be met, which includes physical, psychological, patient social relations, and the patient's environment. Quality of life is influenced by the physical condition of the individual psychologically, the level of independence, and the relationship of the individual with the environment. Nurses are expected to be able to motivate patients undergoing hemodialysis in improving their quality of life.

This Community Service (PKM) aims to provide training and increase knowledge through socialization and outreach to the nurses in one of the government hospitals in Bukittinggi, West Sumatera. The method that has been used in this PKM includes counseling related to the therapeutic communication between nurse-patient and socialization of hand washing with six steps and five moments. The results of this PKM obtained an increase in the knowledge and competence of nurses as well as the procedural for implementing hand washing and five moments in the treatment room. From the results of monitoring and evaluating PKM activities, it is known that nurses understand and practice therapeutic communication and five moments. Pasien post operasi lebih sering merasakan nyeri setelah efek anastesi berkurang. Pasien post operasi selalu mendapatkan terapi analgesik.

Pain is a global health issue. It is estimated that every year 20% of the world's population experiences pain and half of this is chronic pain. In Indonesia there has been no large-scale research discussing the prevalence and quality of all types of pain. Indonesia also does not yet have practical parameters for assessing pain, patient comfort levels, and the effect of pain on the quality of life of the Indonesian people. This Community Service (PKM) seeks to provide training and raise information about pain treatment in one of the districts of Bukittinggi, West Sumatera, through socializing and outreach to the community. The strategy employed in this PKM includes counseling about pain management in the community and how to handle it. This PKM obtained an increase in the knowledge and skill of community members in controlling their pain. According to the findings of monitoring and analyzing PKM activities, the community health service was ready to improve people's pain management strategies. It is believed that this activity will be beneficial in enhancing the knowledge and experience of pain management that may be used in the community health service by individuals and their families, particularly in non-pharmacological approaches as complementary pain management nursing.

Postoperative pain is the body’s reaction to tissue damage (ranging from skin incisions to damage from surgery), stretching or tightening of internal organs, and diseases (eg cancer, spinal diseases, etc). There are several pain management options in the PASHA (Pain Assessment, Stimulating and Healing Application) application to reduce the pain scale felt by patients, one of which is hypnocommunication. The purpose of this study was to find out how effective hypnocommunication on reducing pain of postoperative patients. This study used a quasy experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach by measuring the pain scale using the NRS (Numeric Rating Scales). The sample of this study was 30 postoperative patients in the surgical room who were selected by purposive sampling with several inclusion criteria.. The intervention was carried out using the PASHA application and the patient was listened hypnocommunication therapy for 15 minutes in 2 consecutive days The data were collected through computerization by using an dependent t-test. The results of the study showed that the average respondent’s pain intensity before being given hypnocommunication was 5.167 (moderate pain) and the average repondent’s pain intensity after being given hypnocommunication was 4, 00 (moderate pain). It can be conclude there was a significant effect of providing hypnocommunication based on the PASHA application in reducing postoperative patient pain (p value = 0.001). It is recommended to nurses especially in treating pain of postoperative patients by applying hypnocommunication as a non pharmacological pain therapy

Cancer is one of the diseases that causes the most deaths in the world. Cancer patients experience several symptoms due to the disease and the treatment they are undergoing. One of the symptoms that often appears is pain. The experience of cancer patients in controlling and managing pain is an important thing for nurses to pay attention to. Cancer patients require knowledge of pain management to effectively control the pain. This research aims to see the relationship between knowledge of pain management and pain control in cancer patients. This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 90 cancer patients at Government Hospital at Bukittinggi. The instrument in this study uses an adapted questionnaire from the Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC) to measure both variables. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation. The results of this study obtained p-value 0.000 (α=0.005), where it can be said that there is a significant relationship between knowledge of pain management and pain control in cancer patients. This research showed that the higher the knowledge, the better the pain control for cancer patients. Cancer patients need a lot of support from both health workers and family as caregivers in caring for patients when experiencing pain. This research can be a guide to paying more attention to the pain felt by cancer patients. It is also hoped that more education regarding non-pharmacological pain management will be carried out to improve pain control and pain management in order to improve the quality of life among cancer patients. Further research may be conducted to carry out the study about the relationship between pain management and quality of life among cancer patients.
