Abstract

In visual way, distinguishing mangrove land cover located in Kembung river Bengkalis is hard to do especially if it is using far remote sensing technology. However by applying spectral analyze method, this problem is possibly fixed. It started by taking area sample (training area) 3x3 pixels as many as 10 areas for each classes of land cover, then the result obtained is analyzed by statistical variability test before continued to DMRT test to measure the ability of separation by using separability. Based on the analysis of variability to the spectral value of sattelite vision Sentinel-2A that F-hit (17,626) higher than F-tab (1,98), it showed the treatment has significant effect. The result of DMRT test on reflectancy value of spectral sattelite vision sentinel-2A can be classified into five spectral groups and DMRT test to the mangrove land cover consisted of four groups. Meanwhile, based on separability test there are 36 class pairs, 32 (90,9%) can be separated each way, while 4 (9,1%) can not be separated.

Abstract

Kerumutan Protected Forest is a conservation forest area in Riau Province which has the characteristics of peat swamp forest. This area has a disturbance of forest areas, illegal logging and forest fires that affect changes in forest cover. To determine the land cover changes in Kerumutan Protected Forest, monitoring was conducted to see land cover changes in the area. The purpose of this research was determined the land cover changes condition in Kerumutan Protected Forest area through interpretation of landsat imageris during 1996, 2008, 2013, and 2017. This research was carried out using the overlay process, test of accuracy and classification of reports between two classes of land cover in different years so that changes could determined. Based on results from landsat imageris analysis during 1996, 2008, 2013, and 2017, the land cover area of Kerumutan Protected Forest has changed, during 1996-2018 the primary land cover of wetland forest decreased to 14164,56 ha, secondary wetland forest increased to 13392,81 ha, swamps land increased to 7,83 ha, shrubs land decreased to 251,55 ha, open ground land increased to 33,21 ha, water body decreased to299,7 ha. During 2008-2013 the primary wetland forest decreased to 5604,39 ha, secondary wetland forest decreased to 12378,06 ha, swamps land increased to 19016,64 ha, shrubs land increased to 482,67 ha, open ground land increased to 276,39 ha, body water increased to 318,8 ha. During 2013-2017 the primary wetland forest increased to 17527,23 ha, secondary wetland forest decreased to 16779,33 ha, swamps land decreased to 4298,49 ha, shrubs land increased to 81,36 ha, open ground land decreased to 880,83 ha, and the body water increased to 336,06 ha.

And this research used qualitative descriptive analysis to analyze the data. Customary rules that apply in the management of Aritonang’s Sihuting private forest cover the process of granting and inheriting management rights of the land land, the time span of use and omission of land, types of plants that are allowed to be planted and/or cared for, yields, establish houses, and determination of sanctions for violators of customary law. The benefits of customary rules in the management of Aritonang’s Sihuting customary forests are the maintenance of order and justice in the process of granting and managing the management rights of customary land

Abstract

Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Wildlife Reserve (BRBB) was designated in 1982 and was established in 2014 based on the Decree of the Minister of Forestry SK Number. 3977 / Menhut-VIII / KUH / 2014 dated May 23, 2014 covering an area of 141,226.25 ha in Kampar Regency and Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. The aim of this study was find out about local community knowledge in the Wildlife Conservation Area (BRBB) about kelulut or stingless bee (Trigona spp.) cultivation and to know the relationship between the respondent characteristics with that knowledge. This method of this research was quantitative approaches. The number of respondents was 85 people, selected based on random sampling spread in Koto Lamo Village, Bukit Betung Village, and Tanjung Belit Selatan Village. Data were analyzed statistically by chi-square test. The results of this study show that the local community has knowledge about stingless bee cultivation at the “knowing” level. Individual factors that were significantly related to people's knowledge of stingless bee cultivation were gender, employment, and education.

Abstract

Bukit Suligi Protection Forest was a protected forest in Riau area which is a stretch of wet tropical forest. The forest land cover of this area continues to decline due to forest fires and forest area conversion. These problems will affected changes in the Bukit Suligi Protection Forest cover. Efforts to find out the change in cover of Bukit Suligi Protected Forest Area land was monitored to see changes in land cover in the area. The purpose of research was changes detection the Bukit Suligi Protection Forest cover in Kampar District through interpretation of Landsat imageries 1997, 2007 and 2017. Identify factors that cause changes in the cover of Bukit Suligi Protection Forest. This research analyzed land cover changes and interviews. Based on the results of interpretation of Landsat imageries in 1997, 2007 and 2017, land cover changes that occurred in the period 1997 - 2017 reached 4447.62 ha or 76.76% of the total area. If described in the period 1997 - 2007 land cover changes amounted to 2920.32 ha or 50.40% of the total area, these changes continue to increase until the period 2007 - 2017 land cover changes of 3627 ha or 62.60% of the total area. Factors that influence changes in the cover area of Bukit Suligi Protection Forest are natural factors and human factors. The human factor consists of population growth and government policies, namely the lack of supervision by the government in the forestry sector, specifically the management of the Bukit Suligi Protected Forest area

Abstract

The terubuk fish (Tenualosa macrura) is an endemic species that holds high economic value and significant socio-cultural importance for the people of Riau, Indonesia. However, excessive fishing pressure and estuarine habitat degradation have drastically reduced its population. This study aims to map and synthesize existing scientific knowledge related to the conservation and management of the terubuk fish through a scoping review approach. A total of 38 documents were examined, of which 34 met the inclusion criteria based on the PRISMA-ScR guidelines. The analyzed literature was categorized into six major thematic areas: bioecology, socio-economics, institutional aspects, legal frameworks, cultural values, and environmental factors. The synthesis reveals heavy pressure on fish stocks, high economic vulnerability among small-scale fishers, weak law enforcement, and a declining role of local wisdom in conservation practices. These findings emphasize the urgency of developing an integrated management strategy that combines ecological science, socio-economic conditions, and the cultural values of coastal communities. Such an approach could serve as the foundation for designing more adaptive and effective policies to ensure the long-term sustainability of the terubuk fish population in Riau waters.
