Abstract

Abstract: Preeklamsia menyumbang Angka kematian ibu (AKI) sangat tinggi, salah satu penyebabnya karena ibu hamil kurang pengetahuan dan bahkan tidak sadar jika dirinya terkena pereklamsia.

Abstract

Background: Nutrition problems in children remain a serious challenge to health development, including in preschool-aged children. One important factor that influences children’s nutritional status is the role of mothers as primary caregivers. Mothers’ knowledge and attitudes toward nutrition play a crucial role in decision-making to meet their children’s nutritional needs. However, many preschool-aged children still experience malnutrition despite their mothers having sufficient knowledge. This prompted research to examine the relationship between mothers’ knowledge and attitudes toward feeding patterns and the nutritional status of preschool-aged children. Methods: The method used in this study is a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design using non-probability sampling. The study population consisted of 260 mothers with preschool children, with a sample size of 158 participants. The sampling technique used was random sampling. This study used a questionnaire assessing mothers’ knowledge and attitudes toward the nutrition of preschool-aged children, which had been adopted and modified. Results: The results of the chi-square test showed most respondents had poor knowledge (49.4%), and their attitudes were in the good category (53.8%). Most respondents had good nutritional status (60.1%). The relationship between knowledge about dietary patterns and nutritional status (p-value= 0.777), but attitudes and nutritional status (p-value= 0.003). Conclusion: There was no relationship between knowledge about dietary patterns and the nutritional status of preschool children. However, there was a relationship between attitudes toward dietary patterns and the nutritional status of preschool children. These results emphasise that cognitive aspects need to be expanded with an affective approach.

Abstract

The research method was used descriptive quantitative with purposive sampling technique. The results of this study shows that most of the respondents have the positive attitude in performing pap smears in the Western Indonesia hospitals with the percentage of 97,5% and the rest indicate negative attitude. The conclusion of this study is that the positive attitude of nurses towards early detection of pap smears is expected to be maintained and furthermore the hospital continues to provide health facilities for female nurses to carry out early detection of cervical cancer as an annual program from hospital.

Abstract

Introduction: Bathing of neonate is a  part of the birth process by cleaning the baby's body, watering or soaking. However, neonates may experience heat loss more rapidly and show signs of vital instability. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare the stability of the vital signs of neonates who immediately took a bath and who delayed bathing. Methods: the research method as a comprehensive search strategy, namely articles in the database of research journals through the Scopus database, Proquest, Clinical Key, and Science Direct with full text criteria and published in years. 2016-2020. Results: The results obtained in this study indicate that it is advisable to delayed bathing in newborns so that the stability of vital signs is better

Abstract

Newborns, especially premature infants, are at high risk of ineffective thermoregulation due to their less complex skin structure. Impaired thermoregulation experienced by premature infants can lead to hypothermia. Premature infants who experience hypothermia can cause complications that have the potential to cause disability and death. One of the efforts to prevent hypothermia is to place premature infants in an incubator that gives moisture so that moisture regulation is needed to help regulate the baby's temperature, especially in premature infants who experience ineffective thermoregulation. Humidity regulation is required for the incubator to prevent fluid loss through evaporation. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of providing incubator humidity education on nurses' knowledge, attitudes, and skills in the Perinatology room. The research design used a pre-experimental group without control with an accidental sampling technique; namely, there was a pre-test before and a post-test after treatment. Thus, the treatment results can be more accurate because they can be compared with the situation before treatment. This study involved 37 respondents in the perinatology room in one of the state hospitals using pre-and post-test questionnaires conducted from April to May 2022. The results showed that there were significant differences before and after education on knowledge (p=0.001), attitudes (p=0.001), and skills (p=0.001). The results of this study can used as a reference in developing standard procedures for incubator humidity to prevent ineffective thermoregulation in premature infants through cognitive improvement of nurses about incubators.
